It all started with a broken down Porsche and a stolen cupcake. That is how Amee Benton met her unicorn, Ben.

Amee has a successful career as a lawyer and does well for herself. Her life as of the past year, has not been a good one. He ex husband went to jail for vehicular manslaughter and her daughters were bullied because of it. Amee has not taken care of herself and has suffered for it.

Ben wants a better life. He is a great guy, who works hard as a mechanic, attends night school and helps take care of his cousins son. He only wants to find a family and love. He is sexy as sin and sweet as can be. He scrapes to get by and sometimes lacks the confidence in himself to achieve his goals.

Everything changes for these two the day they meet. It is an instant attraction from the start. Ben wants to build a relationship, but Amee has hard time accepting it. She constantly worries about what others think and sometimes screws up. Everything gets worse when her ex Peter gets out of jail.

Will Ben and Amee make it? Or will Amee let the social differences get in the way?

Ben and Amee’s story is wonderful and inspiring. They really have lots of challenges to overcome throughout the book. Challenges that most divorcee woman suffer and deal with in real life. This adds a touch of reality to a fictional story. The book is easily relatable and the story flows nicely.

The characters in this book really do make it come alive. Especially Amee’s daughter Shae. She is such a glittery delight. The things she says cracks me up. Like all children her age, she tells it like it is and says the darnedest things.

If you like a love story that proves there is love after heartbreak and that families can survive divorce, then this book is for you. An inspiring read full of amazing and wonderful characters. This book is sure to be a soul reaching story. So pick up your copy today.

A sweet, predictable romance! While predictable, I loved every page. Well written, fabulous characters with emotional moments.

Love Repaired is a story about Amee—a divorced attorney and mother of 2—and Ben, a younger mechanic. Ben wants more than a one-night strand and Amee doesn’t really know what she wants except to put her ex’s actions behind her and the girls.

Most reviews I read about this book rave about Ben and hate a little on Amee, but that wasn’t how I felt. I think both of them sucked at communicating, especially at first, and they both made mistakes and assumptions. The mistakes were a great tool that forced them to get to know one another better and learn to speak up about what they were looking for. Amee had a lot on her plate, and I thought the ex-husband thread of the story was handled really thoughtfully. I loved the girls. I liked Jude, Amee’s sister and thought she brought a lot to the story.

The cupcake/unicorn thing got old fast. And I wish the ending hadn’t felt so abrupt. I wanted to understand what had changed for Ben to take them back, and I simply didn’t. I realize Ben’s insecurities got in the way, but even considering that, his reaction at Shae’s recital seemed extreme. He didn’t give Amee a chance to explain at all. Lastly, I think there was a little bit too much back and forth. They seemed to flip flop a lot about whether they could be together.

Cute story of two people at different stages of their lives, overcoming obstacles to find what they both want and need. I loved the ending, great gift. I'll check out more by this author.

This was a good book, pretty well written, no huge barriers to the suspension of disbelief.

Amee was not my favorite person, and she totally did not deserve Ben! He was utterly amazing! The kind of person that you could only dream of finding. How much he cared for Amee - and her kids! - just made him all the more wonderful. (And as a former single mother who found myself a gem the second time around, I can attest to how rare those are!)

Most of the secondary characters (with the obious exception of Pete) are quite delightful. Jude is probably my favorite person in the whole tale; of course, all of the central kids were darling, although the others were mostly eclipsed by Shae.

I was SO sad for Ben at some points in the story. Basically everyone in his life treated him like crap, especially Amee. She should have had to try much harder for much longer to win him back!

Definitely a good contemporary romance that I would recommend to lovers of tales about single-parent and/or unlikely pairings, especially if you don't mind quite a bit of angst on the way to the HEA. I must say, I absolutely loved the proposal! =)

A sweet romance between two imperfect characters.

This was my first Deana Birch book and I absolutely loved it, I will definitely be reading more of her books.
This was a great contemporary romance that had so much heart, Ben and Amee were perfectly imperfect together and although it seemed everyone was trying to make Amee out as the bad guy, their love story was really sweet. Ben the hot younger mechanic was the loveliest swooniest unicorn ever and Amee was a tough, determined divorce lawyer finally fighting for something for herself.
The real MVP of this story was Shae, she was such a cute glitter obsessed sweetheart and I absolutely loved every scene she was in.
I definitely recommend this book for those who love sweet family centric romance books.

Love Repaired is the story about a divorced mother of two and a much younger mechanic trying to find their happily ever after. Amee was sometimes a hard character to like. She seemed very self-centered at times and I didn’t understand some of the things she said and did. Ben was a much more likable character and one that I highly enjoyed reading from. Since this book is written in both of their perspectives, we get a look inside both of their heads.

Like I said, Amee just wasn’t really my cup of tea. At first I thought I was going to like her because she just sorta said what was on her mind and threw in a few curse words to emphasize her feelings. However, her lack of empathy kind of ruined her character for me. She’d be so hot for Ben one moment, and then would clam up and pretend they didn’t know each other when out in public. I just wish her character had a bit more backbone and didn’t treat Ben like a side piece.

Ben was a great guy. Which is why I think Amee rubbed me the wrong way. He’s sweet, respectful, genuinely cares for people, and would do anything for his friends and family. Heck, the guy even stepped up to help raise his cousin’s son while she went through a rough patch in life. What does he get for it? A girlfriend who seems almost embarrassed by him, a family who views him as disposable, and pretty much a ton of people looking down on him. So, yeah, when Amee starts her wishy-washy bull crap, I was fed up for him. I loved that he connected with her youngest daughter and they had a bond that no one could break, however, I felt like Amee wasn’t good enough for him.

I enjoyed my time with this story. I do wish that Amee and Ben had a bit more chemistry. I felt like Ben and Shae (Amee’s daughter) had more of a solid connection. However, I still liked the story as a whole. While I may not have overly liked the heroine, you can’t like them all, and her flaws made her more human.

4.5 Stars
I loved this book so much. The characters had me sucked into this book right from the beginning. I loved the humor so much. I laughed quite often. Though this book has its light fun moments it also has serious real life moments. Ben has so many swoon worthy moments. That man is prime book boyfriend material. When Ben interacts with Shae those moments will ovaries to explode. Those were so of my favorite parts of the book. Little Shae steals the show when she is in the scene. She's so sassy and adorable. Ben is so good for Amee only if Amee wouldn't sabotage herself in losing one of the best things to happen to her. I would highly recommend this book. Trust me you won't be disappointed. It gives you all the feels and humor, but a true picture of a blended family and all the entails. This book will hit you in the heart, but at the same time warm your heart. A must read for sure!

Aimee is a mother of two girls and also divorced. Her ex-husband is in prison having killed a man while driving drunk. It has been two years and her daughters are finally not being teased any more at school. Now being a successful attorney she hopes she could turn that into being a successful mother. Going to the dealership to pick up her car from the repair she is late for that as well. The man that comes to the door Ben takes her breath away. Their banter begins with this meeting where she calls him a unicorn and after he tells her he ate one of the cupcakes that she left on the seat, he begins to call her cupcake. You begin to see the easiness between the two of them. She starts to make it complicated first by age. She is older than him. When she gets past that it becomes more. After Ben has taught her youngest to ride a bike and got over once being ignored by her with some ladies from there school. It happens again when Shae the youngest daughter wanted him to be there for her dance recital, but he had a test for his night school class. When he does finally make it and she wants to introduce him to her teacher, Aimee says no because it is late and they must leave. Breaking up her with her was difficult for him but he wanted to be with her all the way not just in bed. Once she realizes her mistake once again she now needs to show him how much he really means to her and to her girls. The epilogue in this book was really good as well. A very good book with very good characters.

What can I say about this beautiful book apart from - I fell in love with it from page one. I adored each and every character. I laughed out loud, I cried, my heart melted and whilst I couldn't put this book down, I didn't want it to end either. Amee meets Ben who she nicknames The Unicorn for reasons that will become obvious when you read this book. Their relationship was simply divine. Smart, sweet, genuine and real, Deana Birch writes sublimely. Just as Amee and Ben fell in love, so did I. With Shae, aka Sparkle Pants. With Jude, Amee's lesbian sister and Tinder ho. With Carly, quiet but beautifully understated. By far my favourite read this year, I was left with the warmest, fuzziest feeling inside as I turned the last page. I read this on a rainy, grey day and it brought so much sunshine into my life. Deana Birch, your writing is pithy, and heartfelt and I want to thank you for making me smile from ear to ear. And the intimate scenes were written so well - nothing cringey or sappy, just hot hot hot!! For anyone who likes a love story with an edge, this is for you!

Guuuyyysss. Deana Birch has been one of those authors I’ve kept an eye on ever since her debut. I’ve read every book she’s written, and am constantly left with a smile on my face when I do. However, Love Repaired really, really hit it home for me. Out of all her novels, this is by far the cream of the crop. I adore how it shows her growing as an author, and it makes me love her even more!

This story was packed with heart. Amee, a divorced single mom with one helluva crappy ex-husband, is spunky and finally ready to give herself what she deserves. Someone to love who wants to reciprocate in the taking-care-of department—something she’s been sorely lacking. But when she stumbles upon a magical unicorn who has absolutely no right to exist in the real world, she finds everything she’s been looking for… and much, much more.

Ben was one of those male leads who grabs a gal by the ovaries from the get-go. He’s big, burly, and sexy, but also kind-hearted, loves children, and is looking for the total package—a family—not just insta-gratification and a fling. He isn’t afraid of commitment, but he is scared of being an albatross around too-good-for-the-likes-of-him Amee’s neck. (Which, we all know there ain’t no way a mythical beast like Ben could ever possibly be not-good-enough for anyone, but his modesty and focus on doing only what’s best for those around him is admirable and only makes you want to squeeze him all the harder.)

This was a delightful contemporary romance with all the right feels in all the right places. It kept me engaged and wanting more with every chapter I turned, and the adorable supporting cast (most of whom fall under the age of 9) will have you grinning. Especially when you see how epic and perfect Ben is with them all—even the surly ones.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good, heartfelt romance—especially one where there’s already a family in the picture. If your cuppa is seeing love interests fall not only for the parent, but the child(ren) too? Then this is absolutely for you.

A fun and entertaining read, this is the story of Amee and Ben. She is a divorce lawyer with two children and he is a mechanic who is just about getting by.

They fall for each other but is it enough?

A great read.

This is a story of a cupcake and a unicorn.Just like a cupcake,Amee brings sweetness and flavours to Ben’s life and like a unicorn he saves her from the world .She was a successful divorce attorney ,divorced and mother of two.And he was a mechanic, homeless and 9 years younger than her.But from the very first time they had laid eyes on each other, they had seen a irresistible fire in them. While he found her smart with a potty mouth, she was drawn to his sexy body and cute dimples.Like a gentleman, when Ben asked her out,she just couldn’t say no.Though soon after they started dating, they realised that they belonged to different worlds and would have to work really hard to bridge this gap. While dealing with their issues, they faced a lot of problems and also broke up once. But the one thing that brought them back together and stronger every time was unconditional love.
I really liked the book.I loved the relationship Ben had with Nate and Shae.It is beautifully written and is full of great and steamy romance.
