Mrs. Miracle shows an ordinary family that they are blessed beyond belief in this uplifting holiday tale from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber.
As the holiday season begins, Laurel McCullough could use some good news. She and her husband, Zach, have been praying for a baby that seems more and more like an impossible dream, and they've had to move in with her beloved grandmother, Helen, who's having trouble taking care of herself. But when Laurel contacts a local home-care organization for help, there are no caregivers available.
I LOVED this book! Debbie Macomber creates such a wonderful world to get lost in! I can't wait to read more in the series!
Beautiful and magical Christmas story about adoption, hope, and believing in angels. This story was the perfect Christmas book to foster love and belief in miracles, the ideal complement to anyone's holiday season.
Reading a Debbie Macomber Christmas book has become a tradition. You know that it will be a sweet story laced with everyday issues. I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Laurel and Zach. Her Nana Helen was dealing with declining health and Mrs. Miracle steps in just in time to show this family there is hope. Snuggle into a toasty blanket and be taken away. Hallmark plans on airing the movie based on this book. #AMrsMiracleChristmas #NetGalley
“A Mrs. Miracle Christmas” is another cute Christmas novel from the always delightful Debbie Macomber. Macomber has a wonderful gift for mixing serious issues (Laurel and Zach’s inability to have a child and Nana’s declining health) with the whimsical (Mrs. Miracle and a quick visit from some of her Angel friends) and making it work. Laurel and Zach’s story is realistically done and at times heartbreaking but it never overwhelms the story to the point that it is hard to read. Nana’s story is also well done and I just loved her interactions with Mrs. Miracle. Speaking of Mrs. Miracle, this is not the first book Debbie Macomber has used her in and I was delighted to learn she was returning – she is by far my favorite Macomber character.
This book is another winner by Ms. Macomber. The main couples struggles are certainly believable and the way in which Mrs. Miracle helps the family is lovely. I love the hints to other book characters as well. Neat and tidy this book is a nice breather from my other more intense books I'm reading.
Thank you Debbie Macomber for continuing the holiday tradition with a new story featuring Mrs. Miracle! I enjoyed reading this beautiful and miraculous story!
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This is such a heartbreaking and heartwarming story, if such a thing can exist at the same time. I loved reading about Laurel and Zach, especially as they are a couple who’s situation is so relative to many couples today. And I enjoyed the added dynamic of them living with Laurel’s grandmother. This was such a sweet Christmas read not to be missed!
Debbie Macomber is one of my favorite authors. I love her Christmas books. Laurel and her husband are having trouble getting pregnant. Laurel’s grandmother cannot be left alone. Mrs. Miracle comes to the rescue. This is a wonderful Christmas read. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine for the
E-ARC. This is my own opinion.
This is a perfect book for the holiday season, packed with Christmas love and cheer; Debbie Macomber has done it again!! I truly enjoyed reading this book because it upped my mood and spirits and helped me remember the reason and magic of the holiday season. I would highly recommend adding this book to your holiday reading list; it is like reading a Hallmark movie! A+++
I just love Debbie's Christmas stories and especially the Mrs. Miracle ones. Laurel was an interesting character as she and her husband overcame fertility challenges and the adoption journey. Helen was a hoot and one of my favorite characters I've encountered in these Christmas novels. There is so much emotion in Debbie's writing that you can feel exactly what the characters are feeling from grief to joy.
A Mrs Miracle Christmas by Debbie Macomber is an absolute delight. I adored the original book and loved reading this additional story. It’s a book full of hope and the magic of the season. Readers should be aware that it deals with infertility and failed adoptions. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and recommend it. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
Dreaded Dumps But Good Characters and Story
Although I am a voracious reader of feel-good stories (mostly) and this author has been publishing for decades, I hadn't read one of her books until this one.
I loved how she tackled tough issues like infertility and dementia with a sure but deft touch, making it so the heavy themes did not detract from the holiday vibe of this book. These weighty subjects could have easily bogged down the story. Instead, they became the foundation for miracles and character growth. The story certainly had that wonderful holiday feel that you want from a book set at Christmas. The people involved in this story are decent, good people who are having a hard time. Those kinds of stories pull at the heartstrings as we want characters like that to ultimately have a better life and triumph.
But one thing surprised me, and not in a good way. Frankly, I was surprised at the large information dump in the first scene (and others scattered throughout). I normally associate the dreaded data dump with early-career authors or those who are self-published, with no guiding hand from a judicious editor to make sure the author doesn't make this rookie mistake. But once I got past the info dump sections, I quite enjoyed the characters and the heartfelt family drama.
True to Debbie Macomber fashion, this book was heartwarming and I adored it. Laurel and her husband are desire to have a baby at the same time they’re living with Helen, Laurel‘s grandmother. Helen is in need of assistance and can’t be on her own. Just as Laurel is at her wits end not being able to get assistance with any caretakers for Helen, Mrs. miracle shows up at the door. It doesn’t go on noticed that Helen is now doing better and More interactive. Mrs. miracle spins her Christmas magic and this book takes you on a wonderful journey. It must read.
Get Out Your Hankies!
Mrs. Miracle returns in a heartwarming Christmas novel. Zach and Laurel can’t have children of their own and once poured out their hearts to a baby who had to be returned to his birth father, so they have given up. But Heaven knows something they don’t and sends in Mrs. Miracle to bring them hope. Mrs. Miracle is hired to be a companion to Helen, Laurel’s mother, who has lost her spirit and energy. With Mrs. Miracle’s help, getting her out of the house, back into activities, as well as meeting new friends, Helen feels rejuvenated. Now, if only her daughter would get on the ball and open her heart to new possibilities, all would be right with her world. With a little push here and there from Mrs. Miracle, along with a little help from old friends Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy, anything can happen.
My ARC was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Awesome book! As always Debbie never fails me. I love reading all books about Christmas. Kept me wanting more. I read it in two days. Great holiday book.
The characters are believable, likeable, and relatable, you almost feel like you could be a member of their family. The author does a good job of giving us a story that is full of patience, faith, and love. The story also reminds us that there are wonderful and miraculous things that happen in our life that are beyond our power of understanding.
"A Mrs. Miracle Christmas" tells the story of a childless couple, their grandmother Helen, and her very special caretaker, Mrs. Miracle. Laurel and Zach are struggling with Helen's increasing memory problems, as well are trying to come to terms with their childlessness. When Mrs. Miracle shows up on their doorstep and announces she is Helen's new companion, Zach and Laurel are overjoyed. Mrs. Miracle and Helen form a close friendship, which brings Helen into a new liveliness. However, Mrs. Miracle has an uncanny way of knowing things and "helping" things to happen. Zach and Laurel gradually come to believe that miracles can and do happen.
The plot of this story follows along with the other "angel" theme stories in this series. The story line instantly draws the reader into the lives of this lovable couple and their elderly grandmother. Humor underlies this heart-warming story, along with a generous dose of faith and hope. The novel reacquaints the reader with characters from other novels in the series, but it can be read as a stand-alone. I highly recommend this novel for readers who desire a happy ending, with a healthy helping of Christmas spirit and Christian faith.
I received this novel from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
There is no better writer when it comes to Christmas Angel books. I love Debbie Macomber and her re-occuring characters for a dose of love and Christmas miracles. Mrs. Miracle arrives at Laurel and Zack's doorstep to become caregiver to her grandmother, Helen. With Christmas just weeks away and her teaching job taking more and more time , Laurel is worried that Helen may have to go to a nursing home. Now Mrs. Miracle is not only helping Helen but she is planning a special surprise for Laurel and Zach. Cameo appearances by Shirley, Goodness and Mercy. A great stand alone read but part of the Angel series. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Laurel and Zach have been praying for a baby for years. They have moved in with Laurel's grandmother, Helen, who just can't stay alone anymore. Of course, it is just weeks before Christmas and a busy time for both Laurel and Zach. They contact a home-care organization and Mrs Miracle shows up on their doorstep. Mrs Miracle really IS a miracle for Helen. She also helps pave the way for the Christmas surprise that is awaiting Laurel and Zach. With the help of her friends, Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy, it really is a Miracle at Christmas.
This is just a perfect feel good Christmas story. I love how Debbie Macomber weaves in Faith and Biblical references in her stories. Yes, you know just how this story will end, but it is just heartwarming. I've read all of these Mrs and Mr Miracle books and I do hope she continues them. I'm thinking this would make a good TV Christmas special (hint, hint, Hallmark...). If you are a sappy Christmas story fan, this one is a must read.
Four out of Five stars for me. Thanks to Netgalley and Ballentine books for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a really good book and very easy to read. It a beautiful Christmas story. I really recommend this book
