This is a beautiful book to teach us how to love God ultimately. It uses biblical examples and is truly a wonderful inspirational book.
Many thanks to Chords of Love LLC and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
When I began reading Giving God Ultimate Love by Bukky Agboola I wasn't sure what to expect.
I was pleasantly surprised with the content, writing style and encouraging tone she takes. I think this book will be a helpful resource in giving the Global church a fresh perspective. Bukky is wise, witty and engaging!
The publisher provided an ARC through Netgalley. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts
Using a variety of biblical examples, the author shows how we should show God love. It challenges our human understanding and thinking. This was a very thought provoking book and will cause you to re evaluate how we look at loving almighty God.
Beautiful cover loved it! This is a challenging and introspective book. I have read it more than once. The contents are meaty. The first time I read it I was more focused on the thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter and the aspect of examining your own feelings, thoughts, and ideas about love and God's love. But when I read it again I was more drawn to Bukky's observations at the latter end of the book about worship and the state of worship in our churches today. Without being condemnatory I was challenged to reassess my own walk with God and see if my passion for Him had waned. The way she brought the many Bible characters to life was skillful and emotional. I wept with Hannah, had to take a pause when reading about Jesus (that was heavy) and she ends the book with one of my favorites; Job. A well-written thought-provoking and stimulating read. It reminded me afresh of the core truths of our faith; love for God and one another. The book also gives a great deal of attention to the strength that loving God cultivates in us and how this equips to overcome adversity. Highly recommended.
