Very well written and informative. I think this book would appeal to someone who is new to using crystals as well as to someone with plenty of experience in them.
This is a lovely book. It is one I would definitely buy a paper version of to keep at hand with my crystal studies and usage.
This is a really good book for beginners, or even for the advanced to use a reference guide on the various uses of crystals. It starts off with a basic explanation and cleaning, charging, etc, and the rest of the book is devoted to certain colored crystals and then each crystal themselves and what they are most useful for.
Thank you to NetGalley and Schiffer Publishing Ltd for this free copy of Crystal Rhythms. The review to follow is my own and honest.
This is a really well laid out book with all crystals listed in alphabetical order complete with a colour image of the crystal being discussed. Some of the information listed per crystal can be the country where it can be found, the colour – or varieties of colours, link to chakras and many health benefits – to name a few.
There’s also a section in the front that groups the crystals into colour meanings and reference charts in the back listing other uses.
All in all I think this is quite a good go to book for someone starting out on their path of working with crystals.
Another variation of an introduction to crystals. Different types of charts and uses. Different types of uses and information. A nice look at crystals.
My mother had a stroke when I was 17 years old and in the aftermath my aunts brought in crystals not to heal her physically but mentally and emotionally. I didn’t realize until later that it had many effects on me as well as I stayed with her in the hospital during her two month stay and became her primary caregiver for years to come. That was the beginning of my relationship with crystals and it has since continued.
This book is wonderful, it’s simplistic and funny and it really taught me a lot from the different type of crystals and their attributes to the cleansing and care of them. I learned a lot of useful tidbits on what to do after they break (crystal bath?! fancy ooh la la).
The author also goes into aura reading and chakras which I’ve also been interested in as well.
I do like how she specifies that crystals aren’t intended to take place as a doctor and you should always seek medical treatment because that needs to be stated. Crystals are a welcoming, beautiful balance that can uplift the spirits and now I have a deeper understand of what kind I need and how to use them thanks to this nifty book.
Thank you very much to Netgalley and the publisher for this Arc. All opinions are my own.
Personally, I find crystals beautiful and rather a fascinating concept, but with that said I don’t really know very much about them. The information about each is vast and you can quickly get lost down a rabbit hole online looking for the perfect crystal to help. I found this book made everything a lot simpler.
I like the way the author informs you the crystals aren’t a set in what they are said to do, these are changeable depending on what each person feels drawn to. Additionally, the book guides you through some basics such as the different methods of cleansing your crystals including the benefits and drawbacks of each depending on the crystal.
The book goes through the different colours and what it is said they can do for you, allowing you to be guided to a stone may be good for you,
In addition to this, the main bulk of the book is an alphabetised list of crystals.
Each of the listings contains:
A picture of the crystal (It didn’t show up as well as I’d have hoped as a kindle book! Definitely one to purchase as a physical book if you are interested, as I’ve seen it and it is BEAUTIFUL.)
The associated Chakra
A description of the crystal
It’s suggested benefits
Placements it may benefit (such as in the garden or to be carried)
Any cleansing specifics
What the crystal is made from
Where it originates from
The format allows you to read through it to understand each one or to pick it up as a reference book should you wish to find out about particular crystals.
There were a few stories at the start of the book claiming to demonstrate benefits to medical problems. Please always visit and listen to your doctor’s advice.
4/5 – I would have liked to know some more about the way they are actually created otherwise, a very nice book to refer back to for self help but not for properties or scientific purposes.
I thought this was a really good guide to using crystals. My only issue was that the photos did not show up well on my device. I may have to search out the physical book just to see them.
is an excellent book on crystals as it covers so much. As well as the crystals listed alphabetically with all the information about them, there was also a section by colour. I though this was really clever as sometimes you are just drawn to particular colour. There is also a very useful section chart for selecting the right crystal for a particular purpose. The book itself is very aesthetically pleasing, and just the right level of information was included. I've got lots of books on crystals and this is definitely one of the best. Thank you.
