3.5 stars. I struggled to connect with this book early on. The plot threads felt scattered. I wanted a clearer focus on Josie and her grandfather and their situation. I found myself skimming a lot trying to get anchored into the story in a way that would propel me forward. I finally clicked with this once everything fell apart. The scene where Josie accepts that she doesn't have to keep all the secrets and all the plates spinning any more was where it all came together for me. After that, the wrap up of the story was terrific!

Josie's journey is one of highs and lows, determination to save her family and friend, and her stubbornness to fight for what she believe in.
