Just in Case You Ever Wonder is one of our favourite childrens books.
My daughter loves the story and the illustrations. This book has given her reassurance to so many of her questions about her favourite people that now live in Heaven.
It can be hard to talk to children about these topics but books like this make it so much easier. Now she enjoys reading the book to her baby brother.
Beautiful illustrations, touching sentiment from parent to child. Max Lucado is always a great pick for both children’s and adult books.
Max Lucado does a wonderful job of approaching love in a kid friendly way. Young readers will read about the never ending love of both God's and their parents. A great message and bedtime story for young children.
This is a beautiful book and it has a lovely message.
The illustrations for the story are just wonderful and they bring the book to life.
I really liked the books message and as a mum this book really tugged on my heartstrings.
My daughter is three so she comes to me with everything at the moment and I hope that doesn't change and I'd hope reading a book like this together would encourages her to be strong and it would serve as a reminder that she can tell me anything, always.
It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended - it is a stunning book!
Adorable read. Read this with my son and he read it back to me. We both enjoyed the story and illustrations.
This endearing picture book would make a nice gift for a new baby. The story is told using bears, but the situations are ones children easily identify with, however if your child does not deal with the fears mentioned you may want to skip those pages so as not to put the ideas into their mind. The text reassures little ones of a father’s love and especially God’s love. The promise made of always being there may not be able for parents to fulfill, so I wish it had emphasized more that God is the one who will always be there and care for you even if people can’t be. The conclusion discusses heaven, which would be more appropriate for an older child or saved until there’s a need to deal with it. I do wonder why only one parent is included rather than both parents. The illustrations are cute—some of the outdoor scenes remind me of Europe. This sweet story will make a child feel special and can help form a stronger bond between the adult reader and the youngster listening. I received a copy from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
Great kids book! It's a very cute book and my kids really enjoyed it. Would reccomend! Loved the illustrations as well.
This may be my most favorite children's book of all time. Max Lucado has summed up one of the most important message a parent can instill in the heart of a child here, that no matter what you are there and love them.
This is and will continue to be my go to book for every new baby. It should be on the bookshelf of every child and the message should be safely and permanently imprinted on the heart of every person.
Buy a case of these books and include it with every baby shower gift from now until the end of time.
A copy of this book was made available to me by the publisher through netgalley. This is my honest
review.
This is a re-publish of a book but with new illustrations and since I haven't read the actual original copy with its original illustrations there isn't much I can say about that first book.
The story itself is a double meaning story as it first focuses on the love of a parent to their child from birth and to slowly growing up into an independent child. At the same time the parent encourages the child to continue to be open with them and so if they should ever need them for troubles their parent is there for them just like God is.
The illustrations are what really capture the spirit of the book for they are brightly colored and beautiful. Furthermore the book captures the spirit of each child being different by showcasing different species of bears. And it is the adorably cute and emotionally showing cub that really captures the heart since you just want to curl up with it.
But even though the book was a decent read I did have a few complaints with the book itself although I know the message itself was well-intentioned. The first was the fact that it stated no child is the same nor has the same attributes but there are identical children who even though they have some differences share just as much alike. So for those who have identical twins it would be hard to explain that part to the children.
And then the second part that was difficult for me was the fact where the book's parent announced that due to their love they would provide a loving home that would help the child to grow up and learn. Not everyone has that type of home growing up so for a young reader who is coming from that scenario so again it may cause even more emotional issues to an an already tense situation.
All in all it is a decent book but one that the adult may have to read for themselves and judge whether the child they are raising or reading it to may be affected by parts of the message. And if so then it may be a lot more wise to figure out a way to explain those troublesome parts to children who are struggling to understand why bad things happen to them.

This was an absolutely amazing book I highly recommend. I felt it was very appropriate, I loved it and I would buy it for friends.
This is a beautiful picture book about the love between a parent and a child, and ultimately the love that God has for all of His children. I read the original edition years ago, and really enjoyed it then as well. The updated pictures may appeal more to some children. And the use of bears negates any preference of race that may have been inferred from the Caucasian humans depicted in the older edition.
I would recommend this to anyone from baby to elderly. God loves all of us.
Truly my favorite book I’ve ever read to my son. It’s absolutely breathtaking. It puts into words all of the things I feel when I stare at him. I know we’ll carry this book with us for a long time and I can see my children reading it to their children. Can’t recommend enough.
I received a copy of this book through #NetGalley and #TommyNelson Publisher for a fair and honest review.
This was a completely enjoyable and fun book to read to my son. The artwork was very colorful, vibrant and inviting and the story was easy to read. The story itself is timeless and a great read in out day and age, reminding our children that not only do we love them beyond measure, but there is a God in heaven who loves and cares for all of us just as much. The characters are a mama bear and her baby bear and are so endearing. I would recommend this book and feel it would also be a wonderful gift for anyone with a small child.
I requested and received an e-ARC of this book from NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
The illustrations in this book are beautiful and inviting. This is a wonderful story about the unconditional love of a parent for their child with an underlying message about God and heaven. The parent bear demonstrates their unconditional love with examples followed by ‘just in case you ever wonder’, it was really sweet.

This book is a beautifully illustrated reminder that we are loved. Papa bear tells his baby how wonderful it is that he was created and how marvelous it is to spend life together. Written for children, told by a parent, Just in Case You Ever Wonder assures its readers that just like a good parent, God will always love and be there for his children. Your parents will always be there for you and one day, parents and children will spend eternity in heaven with God.
This is a lovely story. It's simple and comforting, like being wrapped in a blanket and sitting in front of the fire when there is a storm raging outside. I recommend it to Christian parents who want their children to be reminded of their love and the love of God.
I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley and have reviewed it willingly.
You are special - that is what I took from this book. Kids feel your love as well as Gods love through the pages of this story. It is perfect for kids and adults get a little reminder from the story too.
Beautiful and emotional. Maybe it's just me right now with my kids but I had to choke back tears while I was reading this with my littles. This is a message that I try to tell them all the time--how special they are to me and to God. So to read a book that tells them this too was beautiful. Also, the illustrations are gorgeous.
I was able to read Just inc are you every wonder by Max Lucado for free from Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me with an advanced ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book has adorable illustrations and has the correct message from a parent to a child. It shows how much a parent loves a child and what a precious gift they are from God. This book teaches children how unique and special they are in the eyes of God. I will be purchasing a copy for my daughter.
A lovely story of a mother to her cub. Explaining that her cub was brought to her from God and that she is very special because of this. Explaining that no matter what life or others throw at them they would always have each other. Being a mother I love this book, I am not religious but my daughter is. the artwork was very cute. it was colorful and fairytale-like.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
This is a beautifully illustrated book that has been re-illustrated and is being re-released.
The illustrations are so adorable and touching and the story is very encouraging for a child who has worries about death or loss or feelings of being alone. The only part I was unsure of was the ending as I felt as though it ended pretty abruptly and it felt like the parent was possibly going to die, but that may just be my interpretation of the ending.
My daughter has recently been asking about death and heaven so I will definitely be sharing this book with her.
