Wrapped Up in Christmas is a wonderfully heartwarming story of a man who has lost himself, through tragedy, and a woman who is filled with goodness and hope, as well as an ache in her heart .
Though seemingly opposite, they are just what they need to heal and realize the joy of life.
I loved the story and the characters, they were easy to fall into, and get swept up in. Not only are the human characters well written and likable,
the furry four-legged character is lovable and makes you want to run out and get yourself a forever, loyal pet. There were times when I laughed and times where my heart clinched. A quick read that will make you laugh and tug at your heart-strings, Wrapped Up in Christmas is a great read for any time of the year.
Also included, as a fun bonus, is a delicious recipe and instructions to create your very own quilt.
Loved this story so much that I ordered a hard copy of the book before I finished the first chapter on my Kindle! It’s a sweet story about a military hero who comes home with survivor’s guilt and wants to thank the little old lady, or so he thinks, that made the Quilt of Valor he was presented with at the hospital. The quilt, and the woman, inspired him to keep going.
Full of all the good fuzzy feelings of an all American love story. Can’t wait to read it again next holiday season!
Wrapped Up In Christmas by Janice Lynn is a delightful read of two people who meet because of one’s kindness. Bodie Lewis is a wounded warrior who is lost now that he no longer has his military career as his defining factor in life. Sarah Smith in Pine Hill, Kentucky puts all her focus on others in her life even with the losses that she has had in life.
This sweet story shows how helping others help the person doing it. Bodie and Sarah made a wonderful pair who help each other, finding new hopes, dreams and love together. They have some matchmaking “golden girls” who steal the show every time they show up. Called the butterflies by Sarah, wasps by Bodies, I enjoyed seeing these older women at work.
A lovely story that gives a dual POV showing the emotions, thoughts and struggles of Bodie and Sarah. Would make a wonderful Hallmark Christmas movie, though reading the story was wonderful all on its own. The quilt pattern and recipe of the cinnamon bread were an added bonus
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wrapped Up In Christmas is an uplifting small town romance from Hallmark Publishing.
Warm, uplifting ,clean and inspiring would be used to describe this holiday book.
Bodie had a quilt made for him while he was recovering from battle wounds and he travels to meet the woman who made it for him thinking it was an older lady. Meeting her it wasn't what he was expecting at all.
The story line plays out beautiful with the warm fuzzies.
I really enjoyed it and look forward to more by the Hallmark Publishing line.

Title: Wrapped Up in Christmas
Author: Janice Lynn
Genre: Christmas Romance
Rating: 4 stars
Publisher: Hallmark
Wrapped up in Christmas by Janice Lynn is a Hallmark movie in book form. But unlike most Hallmark movies and books this one wasn’t cheesy. This one was actually kind of sweet. Bodie Lewis former Army Ranger comes to Pink Hill Kentucky trying to find Sarah Smith the woman who made him a quilt as part of quilts of Valor. He expects an elderly woman instead Sarah’s a young woman.
I loved this book including the Kentucky setting and the fact that it features a quilt made for quilts of valor which is a real organization that does create quilts for wounded warriors, which is something that I have actually done. This is a sweet Christmas romance.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
I received an ARC of Wrapped in Christmas from the Publisher and Author in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. This is my second novel from the publisher and first from this author. I really enjoyed this holiday romance that Hallmark published this season. Not only did it have romance & Christmas but it also talked about the importance about giving back to the community.
Right from the start the author did a great job of building the storyline and creating well developed characters. Both characters were pretty well developed. I feel like I know a little bit more about Bodie than Sara just the author spent a little bit more time in my option giving background on the quilt.
In addition to the storyline and character development I think that the author did a great job of setting the scene very well. In each spot that she chose through the book it fit in just right. From the inn she was fixing up to the Christmas tree lot that they were at. It really made the book because it really fit the scenes that she was writing about.
Lastly I think that the story flowed really well from start to finish. It was a quick read that you can pick up and read during holiday break or just on a cold winter night on a weekend. I am very interested to read more from the author and publisher to see what they have in store.
I recommend this read to contemporary romance readers, romance readers and fiction readers.
This is one great story to wrap yourself in for the holidays! What stood out in this story was the fun network of support that Sarah had from her fun church group of ladies. Bodie was a soldier who wanted to thank this sweet old lady who had given him a quilt and card that helped him through a dark time. Little did he know Sarah was anything but old and her vibrancy would be his rescue for Christmas, but first he has to confess that he is not the handyman answering her ad. Read this wonderful tale to find a great story of warmth and love! Only reason it is 4 stars is the plot felt a little slow for me at times!
All the coziness of a Hallmark movie wrapped up in a book. The romance was sweet, yet familiar, and left me wanting to curl up in a blanket with the snow falling outside as I read.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is such a sweet, romantic, and heartwarming holiday story of small town, church girl and an army vet who seeks her out to show his gratitude. It is a story of healing, family, togetherness, and small town holiday festivities. It truly is a Hallmark movie in print, so I can see why it has the Hallmark stamp on it. It does encompass a religious community, but it not overly "preachy," which tends to turn me off when I'm reading. I definitely recommend this book to anyone seeking a feel-good holiday romance. I like the author's writing style and would read another novel by her.
This really reads like a Hallmark movie. Warm, romantic, funny, and packed full of love and festive cheer.
It was a delightful read.
I loved how the quilt storyline ran through the book, and Harry the adorable, well behaved dog was a lovely addition.
I perfect Christmas romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a sweet, Hallmark Christmas novel. Predictable, heartwarming, and sure to bring a smile to your face. A perfect snowy day read at Christmas time.
A sweet Christmas romance that started with a quilt. Who knew that the “butterflies “ could matchmake so well. The quilt wrapped up the romance.
This book is not the book for me. I recently discovered that I don’t enjoy Hallmark movies, but I had already been approved for this. I think if you enjoy Hallmark movies and all that goes with them, then you’ll enjoy this book. If Hallmark isn’t your thing, you might want to skip this.
Meet Sarah, your typical Hallmark heroine whose known by all in her hometown, and spreads cheer and love through everything she does. Including, making a Quilt of Valor for a deserving service man.
In comes Bodie, your handsome, Hallmark hero whose working through a hard past in the military.
Bodie goes to Sarah’s church one day in hopes of finding the woman who created the special blanket for him to say thanks. Bodie starts to help Sarah on a very special project to repay his thanks. I don’t want to give too much away, all I can say is if you’re a Hallmark fiend, looking for a warm & cosy Christmas story, you have to read Wrapped Up in Christmas. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a Hallmark story, in the best way possible!
Janice Lynn and Hallmark Publishing has produced a heartwarming story about a soldier who receives a Quilts of Valor quilt while he is recovering in a military hospital. Broken in mind, body and spirit, the quilt gives him a sense of hope when he thought all hope was gone. He sets out to find the little old lady who made the quilt and thank her. What he finds is not a little old lady, but a young, lively woman who loves her community and church.
Sarah Smith has had her own heart broken. By her aunt Jenny who passed away, and a boyfriend who left. She dives into renovating Aunt Jenny's house into a Bed and Breakfast. Advertising for a handyman, she immediately hires Bodie Lewis when he shows up at the community center.
Sarah's love of all things Christmas enchants Bodie, who as a career military man, never had time for celebrating. But an IED put an end to Bodie's career, and he is moving on. Bodie is leaving, and Sarah is staying. The tug of hearts makes for a complicated relationship. And with the meddling matchmaker Butterflies, things get pretty interesting.
Janice Lynn has written such a poignant story, sprinkled with humor and budding love. This is my first novel by Ms. Lynn. I will definitely be reading more of her books.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Net Galley and the publisher. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
Not my favorite Hallmark book. I had a really hard time getting into this one.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
Such a wonderful, sweet, warm story! I loved the quilt storyline. Wonderful read!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
In true Hallmark movie fashion, Wrapped Up in Christmas left me laughing, crying and wishing I could jump straight into Pine Hill, Kentucky! I absolutely fell in love with Sarah and her warm spirit! She can truly make anybody want to be a better person! Bodie seems much like the dark handsome man of your dreams! I love Sarah and Bodie's interactions together and how genuine both of them seemed. Janice Lynn did an amazing job of describing this quaint little town, the B&B, and all the wonderful Butterflies that make this a special story. This is truly one of the best Christmas books I've read and will be re-reading this each Christmas to come!
Huge thanks to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this e-book in exchange for my honest review!
