Wrapped Up in Christmas is sweet easy to read Christmas story. It's full of fun characters and christmasy events. I enjoyed reading about Brodie and Sarah. The quilt story felt very similar to another book I've read but just Christmasy. However, this was a cute Christmas story!

Hallmark has long been known for their Christmas movies and this novel read like a Hallmark movie and it was easy to picture the scenes from this novel. A wounded soldier comes to a small town, in search for the lady who donated a quilt to those who were hurt in battle. Looking for an old lady Bodue is surprised to find a young lady named Sarah. The small town of Pine Hill, Kentucky, is just what Bodie needs to heal wounds both seen and unseen. Sarah is trying to renovate and open a bed and breakfast, Sarah believes that Bodie, has seen her help wanted ad, for a handyman, not knowing the real reason for him coming in town. Bodie can't help but decide to take the job and help the woman who helped him, in his time of need. A sweet Christmas story.

This book is about Sarah Smith who lives in Pine Hill, Kentucky and Bodie Lewis, an Army Ranger who was injured in an explosion that killed all his brothers in arms. Sarah pours herself into turning her home into a bed and breakfast. She also makes quilts for the Quilt for Valor Foundation. In the hospital, Bodie receives a handmade quilt. And after his body heals, he sets out to find and thank the maker of the quilt that changed his life.

This is a sweet and touching story about love, hope and family. I really enjoyed it and give it 4 stars. Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me with an ARC of this book.

All the best elements exist in this poignant, sweet, Hallmark-worthy tale. Grab the tissues, enjoy a favorite winter beverage and journey to the picturesque, small town of Pine Hill. Meet the senior lady Butterflies who craft and match-make like crazy. Currently, Sarah is in the center of their crosshairs. Also caught is Bodie, who agrees to help Sarah restore her surrogate mother/late aunt's grand home into a bed and breakfast.

Hopefully, we'll see more from the town and author Janice Lynn, who is a truly gifted writer. Look for a bonus recipe infamous in the Pine Hill area. Another bonus includes the full instructions for making your own Quilt of Valor for wounded veterans.

I received a copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.

Such a Sweet Read!

Janice Lynn knocked one out of the park with Wrapped Up In Christmas. This mistaken identity story about a wounded warrior who goes in search of "the little old lady" who gifted him with a quilt was such a sweet read. I'm definitely looking forward to more books by Janice Lynn.

Wrapped up in Christmas is a full-length novel published by Hallmark publishing and therefore it may not come as a surprise that the book reads like a Hallmark Christmas movie.
And. It. Was. Wonderful.
An incredibly lovely, low angst, low drama festive read packed full of sweetness and light.
Every page was filled to the brim with festive goodness and love.

It felt like every resident of Pine Hill was the living embodiment of kindness and therefore it was no wonder that Sarah seemed to be a freaking angel considering she'd grown up absorbing all that goodness.
Now, I may seem like I'm being a little snarky here but I'm not!
Sarah genuinely seemed like one of the nicest people ever and I just wanted the very best for her.
Her crazy 'Butterfly' friends - aka the quirky over 65's who were her friends and adopted family - were hilarious even if their matchmaking attempts (and not so subtle stalking of Bodie) were a little cringy.

And Bodie was a perfect match for Sarah.
He had suffered trauma but he was working through it all on his own. Sarah felt like a reward for all he'd been through, the light at the end of the dark tunnel, rather than a saviour which I liked.
He was kind, strong, supportive and everything else you could want in a man.
Plus, he came with a dog called Harry who stole my heart more than the characters or the town.
Harry rocked!

Now, I'm giving it 5 stars not because the story blew me away, because it didn't, but because of how it made me feel. It made me feel joyful. It made me smile. It gave me a case of the warm and cosy feels and brightened up my day and if that's not what a Christmas novel is supposed to do then I don't know what their purpose is.

Romance, clean; Contemporary
Bodie and Sarah's story was so heartfelt, honest, and raw. Two hurting hearts, both needing 'something'. Bodie's initial contact, to thank the maker of the quilt given to him as he was healing from his severe battle injuries, the house, Sarah's positive outlook, even while struggling to meet her goals with the bed and breakfast by Christmas to honor her deceased Aunt. Bodie working on the house, and working his way into Sarah's hopes, dreams, and her heart, even as she softened and helped him heal his even further, just a lovely, sweet holiday romance, well written, told from alternating points of view, and allowing the reader to see both of their worries and concerns, but also their building cares for each other was just a lovely, sweet, honest read. The quilt that tied the novel together, a beautiful symbol of family, fears, hopes, and gifts of self, that brought comfort and healing. Lovely holiday read.

A sweet Christmas story that is perfect to read this upcoming Veteran's Day weekend. You will turn the last page filled with love and Christmas fuzzies. Being a Kentucky girl, I found the setting of the small Kentucky town absolutely wonderful. The cover alone is so beautiful that you feel your falling into the story just staring at it. I sure hope this book is made into a movie soon.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Hallmark Publishing, through NetGalley. Any and all opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

I amhoping that this is not the case for long and Hallmark does turn this into a movieby next year. As all of Hallmark’s “stuff” this book does not disappoint withthe highs and lows and the everlasting excitement with these amazing stories.Hallmark did it again with the feel goodness of this book. I have not readanything prior by this author, but she will be on my list of authors to startstalking! This book starts with Bodie Lewisarriving in Kentucky in his pickup along with his dog, Harry. Bodie issearching for the elderly woman who made him this quilt. After being honorablydischarged from the military, all he wanted to do was thank this lovely ladyfor the quilt and be on his merry way to his new job. Quilt of Valor, a quiltwith red, white and blue in it to help while he was recuperating. Meanwhile,Sarah Smith, the sewer of the quilt is humming along to Christmas music. Sarahis the local church's administrative assistant and special projects planner.Sarah was also fulfilling her Aunt Jean's dream of turning Hamilton House intoa Bed & Breakfast. Sarah has had to place many an ad for a handyman, due toshoddy workmanship, quitting or sloppiness like splattering paint on hardwoodfloors. After Sarah prays to have someone respond, the door to the communityroom opens and a six-foot-plus man walks in. Bodie applies for a handyman job unknowinglywith Sarah, who made him the quilt. All this time, he thought she was anelderly woman and here she is, younger than him. We are quickly taken throughhow Bodie is fixing up Sarah’s house and maybe her heart. Bodie gets draggedinto some Christmas cheer, despite his unwillingness. We are then taken on anamazing journey of the restoration of Sarah’s Bed & Breakfast. The twist isa pending job for Bodie with iSecure. The woes of restoring an old house into aBed & Breakfast. Who would of thought you needed more bathrooms? Geez, if awoman was a designer of corporate office buildings as well as public places, there would be a million to one more bathrooms for woman than men. This book is complete with therecipe for the Cinnamon Swirl Bread and the directions on how to make the Starsand Stripes, Quilt of Valor Group Project.

What is better than a Hallmark movie for Christmas? Try a Hallmark book where a small town woman makes a quilt for a wounded soldier. Sarah and Brodie's story is heartwarming and delightful with a great cast of quirky characters that only Hallmark can deliver. Just waiting for the movie.

Thanks to Hallmark for the ARC.

This is a sweet, heart-warming romance. Sarah made and donated a Quilt to a program that gives them to wounded veterans. Bodie is the recipient of the quilt and wants to than Sarah in person for the gift. It helped him when he was in a very dark place. Bodie arrived in Pine Hill and expects Sarah to be a an octogenarian. Boy is he in for a surprise. Every assumes he is answering a help wanted ad, so he doesn't tell Sarah why he is there. As he helps Sarah restore her beloved Aunt's home to be a showcase Bed & Breakfast, he starts to fall in love with the vivacious young woman. She brings light and laughter to his life. But he thinks his life should go in a different direction. Sarah falls for Bodie, but knows he doesn't want to stay. It takes a while and the effort of "the Butterflies", a group of Senior Citizens you love Sarah.

This is a sweet, clean Christmas Romance. It is enjoyable and the people of the community sound wonderful. The story is cute and kept my attention. I just wish both had acknowledged how they felt instead of being to stubborn.

Sarah is getting ready for her favorite season with her Butterflies. The women who helped mold her along with her Aunt . Her Aunt has passed away and the man who she thought would be her future left. She is a loving giving woman who is trying to rebuild her life. She is wanting to get the house her Aunt built her restored and turn in into a Inn.
Bodie is searching for the woman who made him his quilt of valor. He is trying to heal both physically and mentally after being injured as a soldier. He has taken a job with his friend security company and hopes to thank the woman before his job begins. When he finds Pine Hill he didn't expect the woman to be a beautiful young woman. After he hears she needs help decides it would be good to thank her by helping with the house.
I enjoyed watching these 2 get to know each other and experience Christmas together. The Butterflies were great and showed how much they love Sarah. Great Read.

This is another sweet/small town Hallmark that will be a classic. This is my first time reading a book by Janice Lynn but I hope it's not the last time.

A gift of warmth to heal two hearts…

Sarah Smith in Pine Hill, Kentucky has had her heart broken in the past. She pours herself into her work at church and into special projects—like making a quilt for a wounded warrior.
Bodie Lewis is lost. All he’s ever wanted was his career as an Army Ranger, but he was injured in an explosion that killed his brothers in arms. In the hospital, he receives a handmade quilt. Later, he sets out on his final mission: to find and thank its maker.
Bodie expected Sarah to be an elderly lady, not a lovely young woman. He mistakes one of the elderly Butterflies to be Sarah and when he finds her to be the twenty-something young woman he is surprised. When she in turn mistakes him for a handyman, he doesn’t immediately set her straight. Instead, he sets about repairing the home she’s turning into a bed and breakfast. Sarah’s presence and the spirit of the small town bring Bodie something he thought he’d left far behind on the battlefield: hope.

Between the Elderly ladies known as the Butterflies and Sarah, Bodie's heart couldn't be in better hands.
I really liked this new Hallmark Romance title and look forward to it releasing as a Hallmark/Hallmark Movies and Mysteries movie.

The addition of the quilt pattern as well as the requisite recipe are just wonderful additions to this book.
I gave this book 4.5 of 5.0 stars for characterization and story line.
I received a complimentary ARC copy to read via NetGalley and I voluntarily left a review of this book.

This a a heart-warming and sweet Christmas story of Sarah and Bodie. She is filled with Christmas joy while he is facing demons from his past but after spending time with Sarah he can't help but realize there is a wonderful life awaiting him. I really enjoyed reading this book, it is a clean Christian romance.

Not your standard Hallmark Christmas story, a wonderful change of pace for the Hallmark imprint. Bodie Lewis, an ex-Army Ranger, who is healing physically and mentally after an explosion that severely wounded him and left several of his fellow Rangers dead, sets out to find the old woman who made him a quilt (through Quilts of Valor Foundation - what an amazing group) that he received during his recuperation. Who he finds is a young woman, named Sarah, who is healing in her own way.

Mistaken for a handyman, Bodie stays in the small town of Pine Hill (how perfect are these Hallmark towns) and helps Sarah around the B&B she’s renovating. Bodie’s not sure of his next move, but finds healing in Sarah’s good nature and Pine Hill.

I can’t get over the character development by author Janice Lynn. Certain subject matter in Wrapped Up in Christmas are sensitive, but they are written with respect, empathy and love. I can not recommend this clean, heartwarming, military twinged Christmas romance enough!

Side note: I appreciate the introduction to Quilts of Valor and the pattern included with the book! What an inspiring organization!

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Bodie Lewis has only one thing on his mind. Find Sarah and thank her for her quilt she donated to Quilts of Valor. She has no idea how much her handmade gift helped him get through the accident he encountered that crushed his dream of being an Army Ranger.

Bodie excepted the maker to be elderly and is surprised when he sees the beautiful Sarah, a lovely young woman with a dream. To transform her aunt's home into a dream B&B. She needs a handyman and Bodie is just the man for the job. What's a better way to repay Sarah for her kindness. Only, Sarah is slowly worming her way into his heart and that is unacceptable. He's leaving, he can't stay.

I loved this book full of heart-felt moments and moments that made me want to grab a tissue. I am a fan of all things Hallmark Channel and I am totally obsessed with their movies and books. Does that make me bias in my reviews? I'll let you answer that. Make the decision for yourself but I can tell you, you won't regret picking this one up.

This book, like all Hallmark Channel Material, is appropriate for all ages. I highly recommend it.

WRAPPED UP IN CHRISTMAS is a Christmas story that will touch your heart, give you a few chuckles along the way, and introduce you to a tight-knit small town community full of mischief, loving people, and gossip, of course. One man who has seen more than any human should experience is heading to Pine Hill to give this thanks to a quilter who gave a gift of not only a beautiful quilt but hope for his own future. He never expected to stay long, his own memories and guilt wouldn’t allow for that, he thought. Yet, love can be found in unexpected places – and sometimes that place is in our own hearts.

Brodie’s and Sarah’s story is emotional while not being bogged down by that same sense of an emotional read. Two people who have each been wounded in far different ways will find their way to love, hope, and family – eventually. There are a few bumps in their road, something left unsaid that should have been disclosed upfront. Yet, that connection between Sarah and Brodie is strong. Only time will tell if it’s strong enough for a lifetime.

I enjoyed WRAPPED UP IN CHRISTMAS on several levels. Our military personnel doesn’t get enough credit for what they experience in order to keep the rest of us safe – and far too little true understanding or empathy upon their return when they continue to experience the memories that simply will not fall into the past. Personally, I believe Brodie should have told Sarah who he was sooner, yet I understood why he hesitated and delayed.

If you enjoy your Christmas Romance with a touch of reality, with people who are facing difficulties, true difficulties and are working to overcome them and simply live – then I believe you’ll enjoy Brodie and Sarah’s romance. I was easily drawn into their story and quickly flipped pages until the end. I’d not hesitate to recommend this one to any Romance reader, no matter your preferred genre.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
