Wrapped up in Christmas is one of Christmas romances that will make a perfect Hallmark movie! Sweet, single Sarah makes a quilt for a wounded soldier. Said soldier, Brodie, comes looking for the elderly woman who made the quilt that helped him heal. Instead of an old lady, he finds Sarah. Through misunderstanding, he goes to work helping her renovate the B and B she is creating in her aunt’s memory. The women in Sarah’s family have a ‘history’ of marrying the soldier to whom their quilt was gifted, except Sarah did not know Brodie, she just gift4ed the quilt.

The friendship that builds, the sweet ladies/butterflies/wasps who help them fall in love all make a perfect HEA.

Sarah lives in a small Kentucky town, and has dedicated most of her life to doing for others – daughter of the town’s minister and without a mother, her aunt and father, along with most of the women of her aunt’s generation, all had a hand in raising her. But now her beloved aunt has died, leaving her with her old house that Sarah is determined to convert to a B & B to open just after the Christmas holiday. Sarah has spent all of her time with women who pride themselves on their hand crafting skills, and a quilt that Sarah made, pouring all of her sorrow from losing her aunt, her wishes to help and offer comfort and her eternal optimistic outlook was donated to the Quilts of Valor, an organization that provides handmade quilts to wounded veterans.

Little did Sarah know that her quilt would bring comfort, relief and an unending curiosity about her and her town from the wounded Army Ranger who received her package. The letter within described all she had to be thankful for, including her wishes that the quilt bring comfort, happiness and healing to the one who received it. Brody has lost everything he thought he wanted: a career in the army, travel, a mission and a purpose in protecting those around him. But in an instant, his team with the exception of him, was destroyed in a blast, and the only thing that saved him was his heath and fitness. Now with a few weeks before starting a ‘cushy’ job as a bodyguard, he’s decided to detour through Kentucky to thank Sarah for the quilt she made before he heads back to start work.

This was lovely – as Brody didn’t explain his reason for being in town, and Sarah, desperately in need of someone to work on her house hired him instantly. With plenty of ‘matchmaking’ pressure from the “Butterflies” (a group of older women who have known Sarah since birth) the rumors, machinations and push to bring the two together is strong. Least of all Brody’s recognition of the ‘lightness’ he feels because of Sarah and his dog, Harry, and her unending belief in the magic of Christmas and her simple goodness. He’s determined that his past makes him no good for Sarah, and that his dreams won’t allow for him to ‘connect’ and when he leaves (and is utterly morose – enough that his best friend notices it) he realizes that Sarah and her little Kentucky town could have all he could dream of. With lots of laughter and small -town characters, plenty of ‘seasonal’ cheer and the simple joy that comes from Sarah’s life – the story is the perfect Christmas read – loaded with good cheer and goodwill.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my ARC.

Sarah and Bodie are both seeking , they just don’t know that ultimately they’re seeking each other.

While recovering from an IED bomb that left him the devastated only survivor, Bodie was given the gift of a Quilt of Valor, made by Sarah. After his recovery Bodie seeks out Sarah to say thank you - expecting the quilt maker to be a sweet elderly lady - much, much older than the lovely Sarah!
After ascertaining that Sarah requires assistance in renovating the old home she inherited from her Aunt so that she can open it as a bed and breakfast, Bodie offers his services as a handyman.

What ensues is a lovely read, as Bodie and Sarah help each other to heal from the pain in their pasts. The addition of the adorable Harry; the dog gifted to Bodie by his best friend, and a little meddling from Sarah’s mischievous, match making, elderly friends “the Butterflies” adds to the charm of this HEA Christmas romance.

Thank you NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

Honorably discharged soldier, Bodie Lewis, arrives in the small town of Pine Hill
intent on thanking the woman that created his very special ‘quilt of valor’.
To his amazement, Sarah, the maker of his quilt is an attractive, kind hearted woman in her twenties. She isn’t exactly the granny he expected her to be. He ends up helping Sarah get the home she has inherited, ready to become a B& B.

The attractive cover of this book first caught my eye. I don’t make a habit of watching Hallmark Christmas movies. However, this holiday romance was well written and it was a simple, well told story. It was refreshingly clean. If I were to recommend a holiday book to a friend or family member, this would be it.

Wrapped Up in Christmas is the latest offering by author Janice Lynn. Sarah Smith of small Pine Hill, Kentucky, poured her heart and the grief she felt at the loss of her beloved Aunt Jean into the Quilt of Honor she made for an unknown wounded warrior. Bodie Lewis is the recipient of all the love poured into that quilt. In fact, he credits the quilt and her attached note for his turn around in healing.

Bodie’s injuries resulted in him being honorably discharged from the Army Rangers, the only thing he had ever wanted to do in life. His good friend Lukas, owner of iSecure Security Service, has offered him a job beginning the first of the year. Until then, Bodie has decided to visit his family in Houston by way of Pine Hill. He wants to make a quick stop to thank Ms. Sarah Smith, who he envisions to be a wise older lady, and to let her know how much her quilt had meant to him.

When Bodie arrived at the community church in Pine Hill he mistakes church elder Maybelle Kirby for Sarah, never expecting his benefactor to be a pretty twenty something whose pure goodness was enough to light up a room. Mistaking Bodie for someone answering her ad for a handyman to help complete suites in the bed and breakfast Sarah hopes to have ready for a Christmas Day open house, she asks for references and arranges to meet him at Hamilton House later in the day. Having recently inherited Hamilton House from her dear Aunt Jean, Sarah has the goal of bringing Aunt Jean’s dream of creating a bed and breakfast in the Victorian house to fruition.

Bodie has decided to pay Sarah back for the hope given to his life by helping her realize her goals. Having met her, a simple thank you seems too little. Growing up, Bodie worked with his contractor step-father and has all the skills needed to do a good job for Sarah. He decides to say nothing about the quilt.

As they work together, a tenuous friendship, perhaps the seeds of more, develops. Bodie finds he can refuse Sarah nothing, which means he goes along with her plans for Christmas festivities. Once they get too close, Bodie decides he must be honest, but doesn’t know how will this work out for him.

This is a delightful Christmas tale with rich characters and a delightful setting with a heartwarming theme. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

Wrapped Up In Christmas. 🎄🎁 A small town tale from Hallmark Publishing. Say, what! You’re speaking my language, Janice Lynn. Romance story dreams DO come true. Did I mention Hallmark? So you know it’s good. Fingers crossed this turns into a Countdown to Christmas movie 🤞🏼. Let’s chat WUIC! 🥰 Bodie Lewis 🥰. All he ever wanted was to be a soldier🇺🇸. Bodie suffers a war injury and all he‘s left with is gruesome memories, survivors guilt, and a Quilt of Valor donated to him by a stranger. After honorable discharge, he sets out to thank the “elderly woman”  👵🏼 who impacted his life with her kindness. Little does he know that “elderly woman” turns out to be YOUNG, beautiful, single Sarah. Oh, Sarah Smith. She is “sugar cookies 🍪 on Christmas morning”🎄and loves everything about the most wonderful time of the year! Well, Sarah is about to hit the jackpot! Ask and the Lord shall deliver 🙏🏼. Literally. Enter tall, dark, and handsome aka 😘 Bodie. Before he even gets to profess his gratitude for the quilt that offered him hope, he takes on a job at her Hamilton House Bed & Breakfast as her handyman. But not until “the butterflies”, her church gal pals, (You know the grandma-matchmaking-all-up-in-yo-biz type...) have him checked out. All clear. ✔️ If you’re in the market (🙋🏼‍♀️) for a light, fluffy, uber romantic, Christmas fairy tale, you should probably, most definitely give Wrapped Up In Christmas a read. Ps. Don’t worry.. you’re going to get hooked and wish your eyeballs could read faster so you can find out What. Is. Happening. 5/5 recommend! A cutesy story about hope, peace, love, service, community, and fellowship. And HALLMARK! Now someone point me to Pine Hill. 🎄

This book had all of the elements of a holiday tale that I would typically like: quirky small town, a busybody group of well-meaning older ladies, a wounded hero, and plenty of Christmas spirit. However, the book never really gelled for me. I didn't get any sense of chemistry between the hero and the heroine, which is crucial for a romance of course. The heroine is a sweetheart, giving so much to her community at Christmas time because it truly matters to her. She's also in the midst of opening up her aunt’s old home as a bed-and-breakfast. The hero is just passing through, though he came specifically to this small town because he wanted to thank the woman who made his Quilt of Valor (which is an actual organization) that did help him as he went through recovery after being injured in the military. But he ends up getting caught up in the heroine’s world because of a misunderstanding, but he decides to stay and pay back the woman who’d helped him through difficult times.

I am normally a sucker for wounded hero romance, but it just didn't ring right for me in this particular book. Theoretically, the couple was fighting their attraction during the bulk of the book, but that didn't seem realistic to me at all because I couldn't really sense that attraction. Their interactions felt pretty low key because of all the other stuff that was going on in the book, like the renovations, trying to get Bodie in the Christmas spirit, and dealing with the Butterflies (that group of older women mentioned above). I liked the characters, but it just didn't come together. On the plus side, it does have a quilting pattern from the Quilts of Valor Foundation and a yummy-sounding cinnamon swirl bread recipe.

Wrappped up in Christmas was a light, holiday romance. While I enjoyed it, it felt very slow to me, and I did not find myself swept away. As a lover of Hallmark movies, I was intrigued by the synopsis, but was left quite disappointed.

Brodie Lewis is a former Army Ranger, who received a quilt that was made by Sara. Wanting to thank her in person, he heads to Kentucky to meet her, and suddenly finds himself agreeing to help her with some work on her bed and breakfast, that she needs to open on Christmas Day.

The romance was a slow burn. I enjoyed both characters, but felt like there could have been more to their relationship. I was glad to see that Sara was able to get Brodie to open up a bit more and enjoy the holiday. Eager to see the movie, and compare it to the book.

Wrapped Up In Christmas by Janice Lynn is a sweet small town romance. Definitely the type of story that Hallmark is known to produce.

Bodie Lewis is a lost soul now that he has been discharged from the Army after severe injuries. Sarah Smith from Pine Hill, KY is a young woman who is happy in her small town and keeps herself busy with community service through her church and quilting for the Quilts of Valor Foundation. It's her quilt that Bodie received while in the hospital during his recovery. He comes to thank her for the quilt but remains in Pine Hill to help her thinking that's the best way to thank her.

The plot is smoothly paced with well developed characters and the quirky secondary characters in Sarah's life, the Butterflies. A feel good Christmas story that provided an easy afternoon read.

i thoroughly loved this story. Sarah and Bodie along with the dog Harry had instant chemistry no matter the reasons. I liked her positivity and his struggles did not overwhelm. The warmth between them was natural and sweet.

Wrapped Up In Christmas recounts the tale of Sarah Smith. Sarah had her heart broken so believing she will never meet that someone special, she resigns herself to her work, her church, and her special projects such as making a quilt for a wounded warrior. After being injured, Bodie Lewis must search for his new dream. A beautiful quilt helps to not only heal his body but starts to heal his mind. Once on American soil again, he sets out to thank the maker. Little does he know that finding her and working with her and her community will give him HOPE again. Will he be able to embrace it?

I loved this book because it really touched a place in my heart. Wounded Warriors return from a life that we can only imagine. What they experience and see leaves many of them broken. This story really brings that to life. The characters are written so that the reader can embrace them. It is small town I would love to live in. I received a copy through Netgalley. A positive review was not required.

This book is a quintessential glance into what Hallmarks vision is for Christmas. Sarah is working on renovating her family's once grand historic home to turn it into a warm and welcoming Bed & Breakfast by Christmas Day. Her luck with contractors has not been great, however it almost seems like her prayers are answered when Bodie mysteriously walks into her life one December day.

Bodie Lewis however was on a mission. Injured in battle, Bodie while recuperating is given a quilt through the "Quilts of Valor" program. Emotionally this quilt made my a woman in Pine Hill he knew as Sarah brought him out of his rough spot and he wanted to seek her out and thank her. He did not anticipate becoming her handy-man for the few weeks leading up to Christmas.

What follows is a heartwarming story of love, devotion, purpose, and hope that is a perfect cozy reading for the early winter.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Such a heart-warming story. I loved the fact that the story features the “Quilts of Valor” and paid tribute to our veterans. This is wonderful story for the Christmas season. Sarah is a lovely young woman who cares deeply for her friends and her community. Bodie is trying to find his place in life again after being injured and has had to return home because of this. Sarah ‘s quilt gave Bodie hope and a reason to push through with his recovery. He, in turn, is able to help Sarah realize the dream of owning her own B & B. Their relationship is also being helped along by Sarah’s friends and family in Pine Hill. There’s no guarantee they will have a happily-ever-after together, but the quilt is a powerful link between them. There’s so much heart in this story, and that made it a delight to read.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Former soldier, Bodie Lewis has traveled to Pine Hill, Kentucky to thank a woman named Sarah for a quilt he received from her through the Quilts of Valor Foundation. When he gets there, he is surprised to discover that Sarah is not the sweet elderly lady he had been picturing in his mind and when an opportunity to help her presents itself, he decides to take it. This is a very enjoyable, heartwarming Christmas romance. Reading a book or watching a movie from Hallmark makes me want to curl up on a sofa with a hot cup of tea and a blanket. I loved the small, tight-knit community of Pine Hill and all of its kind, eccentric residents. Sarah and Bodie were wonderful characters and I enjoyed seeing their love for each other grow throughout the book. If you're a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies then you will definitely enjoy this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this ARC. The opinions expressed are my own.

Wrapped up in Christmas is a wonderful read for the holidays or just anytime. Your heart will go out to these characters and heal as their hearts seem to find healing also.

I love Christmas novels. They are always so uplifting and make me want to curl up with a warm blanket and hot cocoa. This book fit the bill perfectly. It was warm, heartfelt, and highly entertaining.
I cannot wait to see the movie on Hallmark now because if it's half as good as the book, I'll be blown away.

If you are looking for a book that makes you smile, laugh and cry all at the same time, this one's for you. I really enjoyed it.

Brodie is a at a rough patch in his life. He has just about given up any hope of coming through this when someone gives him a quilt through the Quilts for Valor program, he comes in to town to tell her thank you then meets her and decides to not say thank you but help her and then leave town.

Sarah made the quilt when she was at a rough patch in her life and it helped her to write the note that she wrote with it.

This is the kind of book that you find is so easy to give spoilers when you write the reviewer so I just think I will leave you with this. A great book that will not disappoint you. I really enjoyed reading the book and don't forget to check out the butterflies in the book they are awesome too

This is a heart-warming holiday read. Bodie, a former soldier who lost his unit in an IED explosion, travels to find the women who made the Quilt of Valor that was given to him while he was recovering from his wounds. As he tries to understand what being a civilian and the rest of his life is going to look like, he is surprised by his feelings for Sarah, the kind woman who made the quilt. This romance is all wrapped up in the magic of Christmas. Well-written and just what you should read during the holiday season.
