A beautiful heartfelt read of two deserving characters on a journey of finding out about each other. I don’t want to say too much other than a great book to read at Christmas time. You won’t be disappointed
Anyone who knows me knows just how much I love Hallmark Christmas movies. So when I got the chance for Christmas books from Hallmark publishing, I jumped at the chance. Just like the comfort of a Hallmark movie, this book didn't disappoint. A beautiful story with characters you can't help but like and want to be together. It is a wholesome story with military tidbits that enhanced Bodie's character. The Butterflies were also a big favorite for me as well. One-piece within the story I hated was when he left his quilt behind. That was emotionally raw for me; however, it did tie in nicely at the end. I really felt like the author captured the characters beautifully. You got a sense of the small town from the characters; however, I would have liked a little more about the town and area to fill out the vision of the small town of Pine Hill. Overall, just what I expected from this book and I loved reading it. I can't wait to see if this makes it to the movie line up for 2019 and I can't wait to revisit this story again at Christmas time.
Wrapped Up in Christmas is a heartwarming Christmas romance. I loved the plot, characters and the Christmas setting. Just a good clean entertaining read. I received an arc from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.
I loved this feel good christmas book.
Bodie was hurting when given his quilt of valor. He needed to repay the person who helped him in his time of need.
Sarah needed a helpful handyman for her house and had no idea who Bodie was.
As a military spouse this story really tugged at the heart strings for me. Such a good read. Thank you netgalley for the ARC.
WRAPPED UP IN CHRISTMAS is a heartfelt story of Brodie and Sarah. Your heart broke for the struggles Brodie faced following his discharge from being an Army Ranger and what he went through and continued to go through.Sarah and young woman whose life seemed wrapped within a women's quilt group. Two people who fought ideas of relationships and connecting on an intimate level with others. How their lives crossed and the complexity of their relationship. I really enjoyed this and found from early on, cheering for these two. All that is broken can not always be fixed, but they can be loved and can love It touched my heart as a parent of a soldier, it takes special people to be in a relationship during their time in and when they come out. . Thank you NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing.
The characters make Wrapped Up in Christmas! I enjoyed them all - from the main characters, Sarah and Bodie, to all the "Butterflies". The storyline swept me along, turning pages to find out how it would end.
Anyone who knows me could tell you there are two things I absolutely, positively cannot get enough of: good books and Hallmark movies. If it's a Christmas movie, even better! So a Christmas romance from Hallmark Publishing? Needless to say I couldn't wait to jump in.
Wrapped Up in Christmas tells the story of a wounded soldier-Bodie- who receives a quilt that brought him healing. He sets out to a small Christmas loving town in Kentucky to find and thank the quilter, surprised to find a beautiful young woman for whom he starts to fall. I know, I know... sounds just like a Hallmark Christmas movie plot, right? Needless to say, if you enjoy those movies, the book is just as good if not even better! But let's be honest, this type of sweet romance read is not everyone's cup of tea. It's sweet, it can be a little predictable at times and some might even say a little cheesy... but I absolutely love that. Not every read has to be an intense or groundbreaking story. Books like this are just like a warm cup of cocoa... comforting and sweet! As a military wife, I also appreciate the military aspect of the story...and that it drew attention to this real life program- Quilts of Valor- that I was previously unaware of.
Another thing that I really like about Hallmark books is that they include recipes at the end. This particular book features a recipe for Cinnamon Swirl Bread that I cannot wait to try this fall. It also features a quilt pattern for the Quilts of Valor quilt talked about in this story. While I am not a quilter myself, I feel like those quilters who read this story are going to love learning more about how they can show their support in this unique way!
Overall, this was a sweet read and one that I really enjoyed. It's the perfect sweet Christmas romance to warm your heart!
**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.
Janice Lynn brings us a sweet romance that you would expect from Hallmark. We meet Bodie Lewis arriving in Pine Hill, Kentucky with a dog and a quilt. He was there to thank the person who made the quilt he received through the Quilt of Valor during his recuperation. His plan was simple: give thanks then leave. At least, that was his plan until... he meets Sarah Smith, the one who made the quilt. She thinks he is there to answer an ad she put out for a handyman to help her open a bed and breakfast. He thinks this is his chance to thank her; after all, she needs the help and he has time.
Janice brings these two very different people together due to circumstances. He got out of the service and is looking for a way back to protecting people. She is always looking out for everyone else in Pine Hill. She brings joy where there is darkness in him. But will that be enough? Will they allow their friendship to turn into something more even with his plan to move on once the job was done? They each have to figure out what is most important to them in order to move on and see if happily ever after can be in their future together.
I enjoyed seeing how these two characters changed over time and how people and places can influence your outlook on life and yourself. Bodie and Sarah had to overcome their fears about themselves and others before being able to give the other what they need to be successful. I enjoyed this story and look forward to another adventure with Janice Lynn.

This is a well written, heartwarming Christmas story. You will fall in love with the town and the people who live there. This book is full of emotions, you will laugh, cry and cheer. Very good book!! It has a wonderful recipe at the end of the book that I can't wait to try. Thank you Hallmark Publishing via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
A quilt brings together an improbable couple in this sweet romance about a handsome wounded warrior who feels an outsider and a woman all goodness and light living in a tight knit small town.
This is a light read, highly and unabashedly predictable, something like a small personal indulgence. I enjoyed spending time with Sarah and Bodie, Sarah’s friends and the small community of Pine Hill, Kentucky.
It is a trope widely told and retold – the wounded hero healed by the love of a good woman – and there are no surprises or detours here.
Writing Bodie as a character afflicted by survivor’s guilt and with no sense of belonging is an interesting contrast to Sarah’s steadiness and strong sense of community.
I found the focus on the Butterflies a bit dull and all that small town feeling left me kind of overwhelmed. Loved the dog, Harry.
“Wrapped up in Christmas” is an endearing story of overcoming hard times and finding love. The upbeat characters and the goofy dog will warm your heart and have you wishing for a Christmas adventure in the small town of Pine Hill. An enjoyable, easy read any time of the year.
I'd never heard of Quilts of Valor, but apparently it's a real thing.....and I'm inspired to make one! This is a sweet contemporary romance about two people who have been broken in different ways, but who help each other heal. A small-town atmosphere, some well-meaning, but slightly kooky old ladies, and a bouncing puppy round out the lovable cast of characters! You'll want to stay at the B&B by the end of the story...
This is a heart warming story about a girl named Sara and a quilt she makes for a soldier changes his life. Brody is a soldier who was told he would never walk again, and has dark memories of being the only survivor of his last mission. He receives a quilt that brings new light to his life. On his way home he decides to detour and thank the nice elderly lady who gave him the quilt. This is there story.
I read this book as an arc from NetGalley
Wrapped up in Christmas by Janice Lynn is a nice, relaxing, and romantic Christmas read.
The events that brought Sarah and Bodie together were a long, rough road. The relationship that Sarah and Bodie developed after meeting in her Kentucky hometown due to Bodie wanting to thank the person that made the quilt for him as he was a recently returned and injured veteran, brought a new light into both of their lives.
I enjoyed the complexity of Bodie and I thought that Sarah and Bodie compliment each other quite well and they seemed to bring the best out in each other. I enjoyed knowing that these characters were able to find happiness in this harsh world.
An uplifting read.
4/5 stars
Thank you NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this ARC and in return I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review and opinion.
The story f Bodie and Sarah.
He has travelled to her home town to thank her for the quilt she made, given to him at a time when he really needed it. When he gets there, she is not what he expected, and he is soon dragged in to her small town life. What will happen when it is time for him to leave, just live he always planned to do?
Some great characters, especially the butterflies!
