A great first book in this new series, fun characters and everything you expect from an ARR book, a strong, funny heroine and a hot as hell alpha who sees what he wants and takes it.

I enjoyed the progression of the story, the introduction of the side characters who’s books we will also be getting, and I loved the first meeting of the main characters. This book was everything I was hoping for from ARR’s new series but also, so much more. I can’t wait for more from this series.

A cat burglary gone wrong introduces Leah to Tyler....the new man next door!

Let me just say I love Tyler. Confident, forward and a man who knows what wants, totally swoon worthy!

'I’m hoping you like what we’re building as much as I do . I know we’re just getting to know each other, but I know what I feel when I’m with you, and I know I want more of that.'

A sweet, hot, drama filled story with a fab load of side characters, my fave was Chrissie, the best friend. She is someone I would love in my life...'Have I told you I love him for you?'

Lighthearted, witty and written like an advice column, “Catching Him” is a 21st century guide to dating without the use of any app. With lots of laugh out loud funny moments, it is hard to put down once you start reading.

And if you choose to listen to the audiobook, Carly Robins is as delightful as ever. Alexander Cendese was also a joy to listen to, except that he only had two chapters and I would have loved to listen to him more.

Set in a small town in Tennessee, “Catching Him” follows hairdresser Leah Emerson and construction foreman Tyler Duncan who happened to be neighbors. New in town, Tyler met town native Leah via their pets.

Leah’s cat like escaping to Tyler’s house while Tyler’s dog thinks that Leah’s porch is the best place to hang out.

So in between picking up their pets from each other’s houses, Leah and Tyler started a friendship that turned into a romantic relationship. And when their families and friends got involved, i.e., they started to be curious on what the heck was truly going on between them, family dinners were hilarious affairs.

A rom-com through and through with a little bit of drama and a little bit of mystery plus some steamy scenes to add spice to the story, “Catching Him” is a great lighthearted read.

As I said earlier, Carly Robins, and Alexander Cendese were both delightful to listen to. I liked Carly’s work in “The Kiss Quotient” by Helen Hoang. And though we had very little of Alexander in this book, his work in “Damaged Like Us” by Krista Richie and Becca Richie has impressed me. Five stars performance for these two.

“Catching Him” is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content.

This is a great start to a new series and such a sweet read. These two were so sweet together and sure did turn up the heat. Tyler and Leah had great chemistry.

Leah is single and co-owns a salon with her mom and grandma. She stays busy helping run the family business and take her clients. She is wanting to settle down one day but is so picky. Leah never expected she would meet someone like Tyler, they don’t get along at all. He is new in town and works in construction. Tyler wasn’t looking to meet anyone but once he meets Leah he can’t back down. He will do whatever it takes to win her over.

I really enjoyed this sweet read and can’t wait for the next book in this series.

I’m a huge fan of Aurora Rose Reynolds and the stories she writes. While Catching Him was sealed up nicely for Leah and Tyler, I smiled and laughed throughout their story. Their meet cute was enough to keep me reading.

Leah has a sweet disposition but I also found her to be a very naive. The strong bonds she has with family and friends also made her extremely likeable. That being said she isn’t afraid to use her voice when needed. Her grumpy cat is challenge but if it wasn’t for this wayward feline, Tyler and Leah wouldn’t be a couple.

Tyler is 100% Alpha male. He wasn’t looking for anything but a change in where he lives until Leah falls into his life. He immediately takes on his role of protector and friend in one chapter. He was a little bossy at times but not overbearing. I’m a sucker for a take charge guy.

The storyline was rather simple and not a lot of drama. This is fine for me as I wasn’t looking for anything more than that. There were a few obstacles that the couple faced but they were relatively small and were able to be handled quite easily.

This was a bit of a disappointment. The characters were nice enough but there wasn't any chemistry. They literally go from "hating" each other to developing a friends-to-lovers romance within 50 pages. No tension, no angst. All the parts where they get to know each other are cut out and we're just left to believe that they share the deep bond the author keeps referring to which felt like a lie.
Cute pets, though.
Also, the mystery plot was so unnecessary and predictable, what was the point of it?

Unfortunately this one didn’t do it for me. Nothing really happened for most of the book. It’s just a lot of description like I go to the door and put my key in the lock then walk to the cabinet to pull down a wineglass... etc. I’m also noticing a lot of repetition with characters and conversations among her books.

The meet-cute in this book is caused by the hero and heroine's pets. So adorable! I just loved this one!

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, sweet love, and secrets.

This is Leah and Tyler’s story. These two are neighbors but they meet each other via the cat and dog. Her cat likes to climb into his houses window. His dog wants to be at her house. He thinks she is cute if not a little crazy. The more time they spend together the more they are drawn to each other, but someone wants to make sure they don’t end up together. Can they figure out who that is before someone gets hurt? Sexy couple that has great chemistry and funny banter.

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

This was one of the cutest concepts, ever! Throughout the story, instead of chapter titles, I was given suggestions for "How to catch an Alpha." How adorable these were! It was almost a play on all of the alpha books I've read in the past & encompassed all the things a heroine does to catch her alpha. The part I enjoyed the most, was that the story wasn't supremely cheesy, but rather an adorable excerpt of reality.

Tyler and Leah are next door neighbors. Their first encounter is less than stellar, in fact it's so awful that Leah is completely avoiding him! When their paths cross again, they enter into this unexpected friendship that is endearing. The attraction is there, but both of them want to respect the boundaries of the other, so they build their friendship into a real thing. I love seeing this. Along with their friendship, we see the suggestions in each chapter play out and Leah make her way into catching her alpha.

I related to Leah on a lot of things, one of them being old enough to be past the childish games of mixed feelings and inconsistency. She doesn't want to continually pursue men who aren't pursuing her back. Amen, sister! What a change it would be for the man to make it crystal clear that he was coming for you? I loved this about her and I loved her honesty to herself, and Tyler, regarding this fact. Although they do develop a friendship, I could still see Tyler pursuing Leah, even though she couldn't see it.

Also, I fell in love with this town! I love Leah's best friend, her family, and the fact that she runs a hair salon with her mom and Grams. Overall, this story made me laugh, caught my heart, and was everything I needed to read.
*If you download on KU, you can get the audio version AT THE SAME TIME if you have an audible membership. The audio is SO GOOD.*

Catching Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds is a sexy and satisfying read. The characters were charming, a bit quirky, and fun. I enjoyed following these characters. A young woman dumps her boyfriend who treats her like crap. I cheered for that. Then, there's her sneaky cat that trespassed into her new hot neighbor's home Leah didn't realize someone lived in the home before climbing through the window.  Tyler held a gun out at the person crawling through his window...only to realize it's a sexy lady trying to capture her runaway cat. Talk about crazy. She stirs up his blood in more ways than one. His dog also seems to love Leah. Leah is 30-something and not willing to chase men anymore. They have to chase her if they want her. The plot was steamy all the way until the end.

I absolutely loved the "meet cute" in this story. If you are not a cat person the first two chapters of this book is going to seem a bit absurd. I assure you that this is entirely plosible. Cats are jerks. As much as I related to and loved the beginning the rest of the book paid off as well. Leah and Tyler are a great pair and the story has the perfect mix of romance, mystery, and of course sexy times. I recommend to any fans of Reynolds or someone looking for a fun romantic comedy.

4 Stars!
Leah Emerson is a beautiful 33 yr. old single woman that lives in the tourist town of Mount Pleasant in South Carolina. She works as a hair stylist at the salon she co-owns with her mom and grandma. The family business keeps her busy, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't like to find that special someone to share her life with. She's picky and won't settle for just any man. She wants Mr. Right. Then she unexpectedly meets a gorgeous, arrogant man that drives her crazy. Her free spirited cat keeps climbing into the window of the house next door that has been empty for months. Turns out she has a new neighbor named Tyler Duncan. She clashes right away with the alpha male hottie, and tries to avoid him, but soon he's all she can think about.

Tyler is new to town, and works in construction. He's there for work, and didn't plan on meeting a woman he would want so desperately. Never one to back down from a challenge, he goes after Leah with everything he has. Before long she can't resist him, and he makes her feel things she's never felt before with anyone else. He's slowly winning over her heart, but will she let herself fall in love?

Catching Him (How to Catch an Alpha) is book one in a new series by Aurora Rose Reynolds that is fun, flirty, and sexy. I really enjoyed this lighthearted, super cute story and look forward to reading more in this series!

ARC received for review

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like this. It seemed like Tyler didn't want to move out of the friend zone. In the end, it was a really sweet romance with a nasty ex and potential nasty mother-in-law. Great epilogue.

Now does her bestie get a HEA with the hot detective?

Catching Him is a fun, cute read. With enjoyable characters and an enjoyable storyline.

I'll be honest when I say, I was expecting something similar to Aurora's, Until series which happens to be one of my all time fave series. The title of this book itself is a bit misleading as I fully expected an Alpha that would be difficult to tame. Tyler was the complete opposite of what I expected. I didn't find him that Alpha, he was sweet and caring. And there really was no Catching Him, in fact he seemed more eager then she was for this relationship.

While I enjoyed this read I didn't love it. And I'm not sure I would be inclined to continue this series.
