Catching Him is Book 1 in Aurora Rose Reynolds' new How to Catch an Alpha series. This was a fun, light, low drama, full of sweetness but oh so steamy read. There was a secondary suspense element which of course was pretty obvious as to who was behind it but added just a touch of depth to the plot to round it out perfectly. Overall this was an enjoyable story with great characters that I highly recommend.
My first book by Aurora Rose Reynolds and I am IN LOVE with her writing style! The flow of this book was absolutely spot on, and I read it in one sitting.
Tyler Duncan is new in town, and he gets the surprise of his life when he meets his neighbour, Leah Emerson! They say first impressions count, and I think it’s safe to say that Leah certainly made an impression on him!! Lol!
I loved the banter between the two of them - Tyler is blunt and to the point, and Leah gives as good as she gets!
Catching Him is the first in the ‘How to Catch an Alpha' series. It's sweet and romantic, with an undercurrent of intrigue! I’m hoping the second book (Baiting Him), is about Leah's best friend Chrissie - I’d love to see her get a man!
Another sexy alpha from Aurora Rose Reynolds and I'm lost... I can't lie, this author knows how to make my heart soft for Her men. I LOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM !!
With Catching Him couldn't be any different- I really like this book and this characters inside. From first paiges I was sure that I'll find here everythng what I want to recive in Aurora's books.
Tyler and Leah..... how much I love them together !!! From the begining I felt that they perfect match for each other. Sexy alfa with "everyones best friend girl"... ahhh my poor heart. They steal my attention, capitaved my heart.... and I'm really sorry that our date ended... however... I'm sure this author have some good stuff in the market and I'll come back to Mrs Aurora Rose Reynolds with pleasure - as always!
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Tyler and Leah are new neighbors who meet when Leah climbs through his window after her cat and he pulls a gun on her mistaking her for an intruder. Definitely a “meet cute”! Not long after that, Tyler’s dog, Bruce shows up continuously at Leah’s house and the two become friends, the more time they spend together, the more the attraction between them grows. This story was sweet, sexy, hilarious and romantic. The way Tyler woos Leah is absolutely swoon worthy. I really enjoyed Tyler and Leah as well as all the secondary characters. This book was full of romance with a dash of suspense. I can’t wait to re1 the next book in this series, How to Catch an Alpha.
Catching Him is book 1 in Aurora Rose Reynolds’ new How to Catch an Alpha series. I can honestly say that I’ve never been disappointed in the time I’ve spent in an Aurora Rose Reynolds story. And Catching Him didn’t change that fact at all! Leah and Tyler meet in an unusual and hysterical way, and the story just keeps getting better from there. It’s sweet, definitely steamy, and has a bit of a mystery thrown in.
NICUnurse’s Rating: All I can say is, “Give me more!” Definitely looking forward to book two in this series. If you’re a fan of contemporary romance with a very alpha male hero, you’re gonna want to read this one right now! I give Catching Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds 4.5 out of 5 stars!
Catching Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds was a light and sweet read to get lost in. Tyler moves in next door to Leah and well, life is about to change. I totally love how they met! It was totally a meet-cute! Taylor moved for a job and never expected to be pulled in by Leah. But he knows what he wants and goes for it! A total alpha! I loved that in a man. Leah was sweet, kind and honest. Tyler and Leah had great chemistry and I loved watching them fall! Catching Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds was a charming and delightful read.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading
I loved this swoon-worthy, sweet, sexy, and incredibly entertaining story. I had a blast reading it and fell completely in love with Leah and Tyler. This was such a heartwarming read and it left me with a huge smile on my face.
I love Leah and Tyler’s first meeting. It was just super fun and I immediately liked them. They were so adorable and flirty together. I loved them becoming friends and the development of them becoming more. When everything really clicks, oh my! These two sizzle! They were just these wonderful, genuine people coming together and falling in love. I was excited while reading and learning about them. There were just these great scenes that had me smiling the entire time.
I thought the writing was great. It was a light read with a few ups and downs and a bit of drama mixed in. There’s a nice mystery, suspense element added that I enjoyed as well. Some of it was a little predictable but I was enjoying Leah and Tyler so much I didn’t even care. This story was all about the fun factor for me.
If you want a story that's going to fill you up and make you happy, that's entertaining with just the right amount of spice and filled with a ton of love, this is it. And you want a sexy as hell, wear his heart on his sleeve, put-it-all-out-there hero? You are going to freaking LOVE Tyler.
I really loved this book so much and I just couldn’t put it and I can’t wait to read the next book by you I really love them. I don’t know what else to say in this review I really loved this couple. Really great

I loved this book!! Low drama, just enough to keep it interesting, a sexy, swoon worthy alpha male and a sweet heroine. Tyler is the perfect guy. He's sweet, protective, knows what he wants and romantic too.
Leah literally falls into Tyler's life while chasing her cat, Mouse, who jumped in his house window. Not realizing she has a new neighbor, she crawls through the window after him. She's tired of dating the wrong guys and wants a man who isn't afraid to commit to what he wants. Tyler becomes that man and so much more. They had great chemistry together too.
An easy and enjoyable read.
What can I say about the book? No matter what Aurora Rose Reynolds writes, she absolutely kills it! She is an automatic buy for me and this new series wasn't different.
Catching Him is the first book in the new series How to Catch an Alpha and I was really excited to be introduced to another universe of characters imagined by this author and I wasn't disappointed. Leah and Tyler are incredible, both as people and as a couple. I loved how there wasn't drama in the relationship and how they just fell into a super natural relationship. The only thing I thought fell a little short was how quickly the stalker was discovered and dealt with, which I don't think added a lot to the story or was realistic, but not even that was enough to take away from the enjoyment of the book!
If you've read books from this author you know she is a genious and that you NEED to pick this one up IMMEDIATLY and read it! If you haven't read her other books yet, what are you waiting? Go and binge read them all, including this one.
This was a quick, fun and cute read, I'm looking foward for the rest of the series!
3.5 stars. Catching Him is an entertaining, cute and funny read. This is Tyler and Leah's story. After Tyler moves in next door, the two meet when Leah's cat escapes her front door and jumps into the open window in his house. After that, Tyler's dog keeps escaping to Leah's house as well. Tyler and Leah become friends, as do their pets, which leads to more. They fall in love, while dealing with some family and ex drama along the way.
I enjoyed Tyler and Leah's story. They are funny and sweet together. There is little angst between them and they get together and stay together. My only complaint is that there is little to distinguish it from most of Ms. Reynolds's other books. It has the same key phrases and characterizations. Still, Catching Him is an easy, safe, sweet read. I enjoyed the book and look forward to more from Ms. Reynolds in the future!
Wow! I just fell in love with another series of Aurora Rose Reynolds and can’t wait for more! Leah and Tyler are one of my new favorite couples and Tyler may just be my new book boyfriend. Their relationship is funny, comfortable, light-hearted with some struggles thrown in and lots of steam. Yes, Tyler still has those qualities you love so much form Aurora’s books with his over-protectiveness, caveman, alpha qualities. But they mesh so well with Leah and their relationship that you can’t help but swoon. I was sucked in from the first sentence and couldn’t stop laughing. You also get that family close-knit community we love so much and it’s the perfect recipe for catching him! The side characters also catch your attention and now I want more of them!
CATCHING HIM (How to Catch an Alpha Book 1) by Aurora Rose Reynolds is a new contemporary romance by a new to me author and I will be looking for more books in her series. This book left me with a smile and the happy feeling that there are still romances being written with no over-the-top relationship angst or drama; just a feel-good relationship with a likable alpha hero and smart heroine and just a touch of suspense.
Leah Emerson is sweet, upbeat and beautiful inside and out. She works with her grandma and mother every day as a stylist in their hair salon. Her two brothers are married with kids and her mother wants the same for her, but she has decided that she is done with relationships where she is the person chasing and settling. She is willing to wait for the “right” man.
Tyler Duncan recently moved into town for a new job as a construction foreman for his friend’s company. He is focused on his new job and not looking for a relationship, but when his beautiful next-door neighbor falls through his window chasing her wayward kitten, he knows he wants her.
Tyler is sexy, confident and protective and Leah is very attracted, but is he the right man for Leah?
I love this hero and heroine! Tyler is the type of alpha male every girl should have. Leah is smart, upbeat and compassionate, but protective of her heart after being disappointed by men in the past. The relationship comes together in a realistic way with fun dialogue, funny situations and hot sex scenes that are explicit, but not gratuitous. All the secondary characters add depth to the story, including the pets. The story focuses on the romance, but there is a small bit of suspense added for the drama you do not get from the relationship.
This romance put a smile on my face, had laugh-out-loud situations and dialogue and left a warm and fuzzy feeling in my heart. I am anxiously awaiting the next book by this author.
I have always been a huge fan of Aurora Rose Reynolds and Catching Him was a story that showed why I love her stories. She created amazing characters that had me laughing but also a super amazing alpha hero. There were so many swoony moments throughout the story that I really enjoyed. This is the perfect story if you are looking for a sweet, feel good story.
This was my first EVER Aurora Rose Reynolds book and goodness.. Where has this author been all my adult reading life?! I don’t know how I’ve gone this long without reading any of her books and I’m feeling seriously deprived knowing I could have been reading about more characters like Tyler and Leah.
Cause guys.. I am seriously fully in love with Catching Him. Not only did it have a swoon worthy romance, a cat named Mouse(who we ALL have to thank for his jumping into the hot guys window) and an adorable dog, a heart eyes emoji worthy male character, funny moments (like the characters meet cute; Leah fell through Tyler’s window!) and crazy big families BUT it had the most gasp inducing male character ever (Yes I mentioned Tyler twice, read this book and you’ll get it)!
The author even did a wonderful job of incorporating a little drama in the form of a weaselly ex boyfriend whom we all got to hate on.
I read this book in two sittings (mostly cause stupid work interrupted & I had to sleep cause of said stupid work) but in these two sittings, you could not pry me away from these characters. Trust me when I say, you definitely want Tyler as your next book boyfriend, so do yourself a favor and go grab it!
The story between Tyler and Leah absolutely makes me happy. The writing is exceptional. The character depth and dimension is outstanding. The family and friends bring joy to the book. There is mystery, there is chemistry and there is love. The story moves smoothly and logically and makes for a quick read. Tyler's mom of course is not a favorite in the beginning. I hope that the detective gets a story and I'm torn between Chrissie and Heather, well I was torn until the Epilogue.
I've read two Aurora Rose Reynolds books before this one and have yet to understand the hype of the author. This one looked like it was going to be a cute, fun romance, so I decided to give the author one final chance.
Everyone in Emerson's life wants her to settle down, but she hasn't found the right man yet. But when her cat breaks into her neighbor's house and she comes face to face with the hot new neighbor, Emerson is smitten. Tyler takes an immediate liking to Emerson and inserts himself into her life until Emerson can't ignore him anymore.
Ugh. I honestly just think Aurora Rose Reynolds is not my cup of tea. There were so many things about this book that had me rolling my eyes and on the verge of putting this book down from 30% onward. First was the dialogue. While I was reading this, the dialogue felt so stiff and there was no way I could imagine people actually talking like that. The characters would sit around and talk about nothing and I was bored most of the time of this book. I also wasn't a fan of Emerson at all and how clueless and immature she acted as a woman in her early 30s.
When it came to the romance, I was just not on board with this book. The pacing was weird and definitely insta-lovey. These guys were barely dating and telling each other I love you and meeting each other's families. There was a "mystery" thrown in at the end that was so obvious and random and I just wasn't a fan.
The only reason I even finished this book was because I received a copy for review. If I picked it up on my own, I would have put it down before the halfway point. I think I'm done with this author and her alpha males and insta love plot lines.
Quick and addictive read, really cute story and adorable characters. I was hooked from the first page and read this in one sitting. Sweet romance
Its no secret I am a fan of AAR and when I hear she has a new series coming out I get super excited. With this start to this new series I think she has already gotten me hooked on this How to Catch an Alpha series.
AAR has brought us a hot, sweet romance with minimal angst. She has given us humour and swoon in one book. I had this book devoured in one afternoon enjoying the sunshine in the garden.
The main characters in Leah and Tyler are enticing. Leah was a feisty, amusing heroine who you can't help but fall in love with want her to be your friend. Tyler will make you swoon and your panties wet. He wants Leah from the moment they first meet, which it totally hilarious and a serious meet-cute.
Can't wait to see who AAR brings us next in this series.
Catching Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds will deliver exactly what you want in a contemporary romance if you like sweet heroines and devoted heroes! This was a quick read overall, but gives you all the happy vibes you need!
Leah is very sweet and down to earth. She has been burned by guys in the past so she refuses to settle or chase a man. She meets her new neighbor, Tyler, and there is instant attraction. But, she is going to wait for him to make a move. The angst is low for the most part-she has one douchebag ex who causes some issues, his mom is a bit rude-and I appreciated the focus on building a relationship. They are friends first and build some trust. Tyler has an adorable dog and Leah has a 'runner' cat and both pets add to the levity. There is also deep family bonds throughout the story. Leah is close with her family and that relationship is important to the story. Tyler doesn't live near his family, but they are a part of his life and play a role in the story.
Overall, Catching Him is a short and sweet read for those who want a straight forward romance. The angst is low, the characters are sweet, and the plot is engaging.
