I love ARR. I have loved her books since Until November. It's a book I can read again and again and still not be bored with.
The story starts with a cat jumping through a window. We all know cats are aholes so it's a very relatable scene.
This story was a slow burn unlike other stories by ARR, like the BOOM.
I like the difference still. There was some drama, tons of chemistry and a slow burn of relationship.
The characters were everything you expect from Aurora Rose Reynolds, but with a touch of something more and new. You still get your chemistry and alpha with a dash of drama.
So fabulous. Loved the couple interaction and it is a great original story. Highly entertaining with the animals. Brought some hilarity and smiles while you read. Couldn’t put it down.
Catching Him is the first book in Aurora Rose Reynolds's How to Catch An Alpha series. This was a strong start to a new series and I can't wait to read more!
Leah is a hairstylist who has been frustrated by the men she's dated. Tyler, Leah's new next door neighbor, hasn't had a ton of relationships but knows he wants more with Leah as soon as they meet. Leah is a little more skeptical.
I really liked Tyler and Lead and was rooting for them from the beginning. I loved that the author took time to build their friendship instead of throwing them right into instalove. I also liked that there was some suspense thrown in - but not enough to make this a romantic suspense novel.
Overall I give this book 5/5. I really enjoyed it and it is the perfect quick read for a summer day. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I inhaled this story, how could I not. It was everything and I cannot thank Aurora Rose Reynolds enough for writing it, in her much loved unique manner. I smiled through copious tears of happiness, my heart feeling full and complete whilst sad that’s its all over, I just can’t feel anything but happiness and lobe right now. It was aces!! Rock on....and be prepared to be swept off your feet!! Happy reading!!
In true Aurora Rose Reynolds' form, she made me swoon HARD for the hero in this book. Tyler was one of the best alphas that I have ever read and I just love him with every fiber of my being. The cocky actions, swoony looks, and smart comebacks are only some of the juicy goodness you will get from this book. I love the amount of angst that ARR injects into her stories; it doesn't overwhelm it, but they make you feel every emotion. Leah was a true sweetheart. down on her luck with boyfriends, she has basically given up, but Tyler unlocks her heart. I can't wait to read Aurora's future books in her How To Catch an Alpha series!
Catching Him is a funny, light and sweet romance. The whole book was filled with sugary sweetness from Leah and Tyler, their family, their small townfolks, and their lovely pets. Tyler was an alpha who knew Leah was exactly what he wanted. I loved that their relationship was candid and honest without any mind-games. There was a minor suspenseful storyline regarding some criminal activity that was targeted the couple. However, it was resolved quickly.
I enjoyed this low drama, sweet and easy read. If you are looking for something nice and fluffy, this would be a great choice.
I have not read a book by Aurora it seems in forever and it was good that I got reintroduced to her with Catching Him. You will fall in love with Tyler-hottie neighbor and his dog Bruce. We meet Leah who has decided that she was not going to chase men anymore they were going to come after her since she had wasted 2 years of her life with her ex and his undeciveness. She ends up meeting her neighbor in unique fashion and he is oh so hot, but she is avoiding him. They bump into each other due to Bruce (Tyler's dog) and the rest is history..Tyler is Alpha to the core and sweet and possessive, yum. I loved Leah's family and friend, Tyler's mom not so much-she is lucky for Leah because someone else would not have been so understanding..Hopefully Leah's friend gets herself a hottie soon. Enjoy!
This was a cute and fun tale, with a little bit of a mystery thrown in. I really enjoyed it!
Leah Emerson co-owns a successful hair salon with her mom and grandma in the small town of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. She pretty much has her life together, but she's never had much luck with relationships. She's in her 30s, she owns her house, and she adopted a cat (the most difficult one at the shelter, not to mention). Her cat, Mouse, has a propensity for running away whenever the mood strikes, and once when he escapes outside, he climbs in the open window of the house next door. She believes the house is still vacant, so she crawls in after him, in nothing but a tank top and undies, first thing in the morning. But, of course, there's a sexy new neighbor living there, and she is mortified. Talk about a meet cute! But, in addition to her embarrassment, he annoys her, and she avoids him for the next week or so. But boy does she like looking at him through the window...
Tyler Duncan just recently relocated from Tennessee to take a new job as a construction foreman for his friend's remodeling business. When he first meets Leah, he seems smitten, but he keeps aggravating her somehow and she avoids him. Luckily, his dog, Bruce, is his wingman, and gets himself "lost" over at Leah's house, and she falls in love with the dog. After that, he and Leah become friends and start hanging out all the time. Tyler really wants Leah, but he's playing the long game, wooing her while getting to know her, to make her comfortable with the idea of dating him.
Tyler and Leah had sparks right from the start, and I loved their constant banter and arguing. They really fell for each other gradually, after their initial attraction, and I adored that. Both of the their families were fun, and interesting, and I loved their interactions with them as well. Tyler's mom had to get a grip, but once she did, she was great too. I enjoyed watching each of them with the other's family too.
There was a little mystery/suspense plot here, but I felt like I knew who the bad guy was right away, and I was right. It wasn't a super crucial part of the story, so figuring it out immediately didn't really hamper my enjoyment of it at all. I'm curious if all the books in this series will have a similar mystery element, or if that just happened to fit the plot for this one.
This is only the second or third book I've read from this author, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. I love stories where the hero is all in from the start, and this was definitely that, even when Leah wasn't recognizing that fact immediately. Tyler was an awesome, swoonworthy hero, and I couldn't get enough of him. I wouldn't have minded having a bit more of the story from his POV, rather than 90% being from Leah's POV. I enjoyed several of the side characters here, especially Leah's bestie, and Tyler's sister. Hopefully Leah's friend will have her own book soon!
Catching Him was an ARC I’ve had sitting on my kindle for a while but hadn’t read. For some reason I was expecting something different so I waited and I am so mad at myself now. This was a such a great neighbors to friends to lovers story. I really liked Leah and Tyler and how their relationship grew. Everything between them was just easy; the book was filled with a lot of witty banter and passion. This is simply a really great love story with highly likable characters. Throw in a bit of drama and some steamy scenes and I was entertained completely through the entire book. It was just fun and sexy.
This is the first book in the How To Catch an Alpha Series. I will be reading any and all books in this series.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
Who knew looking for a lost cat would put Leah on the path of finding her forever man.
I loved Leah in this book. I felt that she was very relatable. She is kind, warm, and semi awkward. One really weird relationship that I loved was the one she had with Bruce the dog. She is a woman who doesn't want a man and because of this she misses all the signs that Tyler was sending.
Tyler is a man who knows what he likes when he sees it. So when he meets his new neighbor in her underwear after she broke into his house, he has been in love. He has done everything to get Leah's attention, even friend zoned her for awhile but when Tyler is ready to claim his woman, nothing will stop him.
I loved that Tyler's mom doesn't scare her off and the thing happening Leah doesn't scare Tyler off.
I really enjoyed this book!

Aurora Rose Reynolds is one of my go-to authors so I jumped at the chance to review the first book in a new series. I really enjoyed Catching Him. It kind of started off as an enemies-to-lovers premise. Tyler moves in next door to Leah. Leah is unaware there's a new occupant in the house next door and finds herself in a compromising position when she runs after her cat named Mouse. Despite their awkward first meeting, Leah and Tyler definitely hit it off. I really enjoyed both main characters. Tyler was an alpha male without being over the top. He was sweet and a total gentleman. Once he decided he was interested in Leah, he went for it. Leah was great as well. She had been burned in the past but she didn't become jaded and completely turned off from love. Once she was on board, she was all-in. One of my favorite things about this book was Bruce! Gah! What a sweet angel! He was a sweet puppy trapped in a big dog body. I just loved him. Mouse was great too. He's was how this whole thing got started after all. Overall, this was just pure romance, with a little bit of (slightly predictable) suspense thrown in. Can't wait for the next installment.
While I liked the story line, I had a huge problem with the author's use of "baby" and "I love you"s. There was just way too much sappiness. I think it could have been a good story if the author had toned it down a bit.
Great start to a new series!
I really enjoyed this sweet, heartfelt book that made me smile so big! Leah was so bright and cheerful, i couldn’t help but adore her (and her best friend Cassie). And Tyler…Sigh…He was delicious and simply perfect and just made for Leah. Their chemistry was undeniable and the steam was through the roof.
"You look amazing. You’re always beautiful and always have a way of stopping my breath and giving it back to me, but right now…" I shake my head. "Jesus, baby, you stop my heart from breathing."
Aurora Rose Reynolds is the queen of writing the perfect romance and alpha male goodness and this book certainly lived up to my expectations in that regard. The characters seem so real, the connections so true, and the families so welcoming. Just a great blend of all the things I love to read about. I enjoyed every second I spent with Leah and Tyler. There was not one moment in this story that I did not like. It was fast paced, sexy and hot and full of emotion. Can't wait for the second book in the series. Overall rating : 4 solid stars!
LOVED THIS BOOK!! Aurora had done it yet again... She gives you the feels everytime you open up one of her books.. or she does to me.
Leah and Tyler's first meet was a unconventional one so to speak.. LOL. Unless of course having to chase your cat through your yard and into your neighbors back window while in her underwear is conventional.. I loved everything about this book and both the lead characters. I do however think Bruce was my Fave.. I mean HELLO who could not love that big lug.. and lets not forget Chrissie.. show is Leah's BFF.. (hope there is a story there..)
if you are looking for a fun and super fast read go check out this book... you wont be disappointed..
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers and author for allowing me to read this book.
3/5 stars!
super cute & sweet!! Both characters were great and I enjoyed reading about them fall in love in such a natural and beautiful way. It definitely had aurora's signature story telling!

This is the first book I've read of this author. What a great find !!
Loved this - a hot sexy read - now looking out for more from this author
Aurora Rose Reynolds kicks off her new How to Catch an Alpha series with with a funny and sexy Catching Him.
You will adore the strong, brave and fierce heroine, Leah Emerson. Leah has had her heart broken or led around on a leash for years and she's absolutely done laying it all on the line to have a unworthy man tear her heart out again. She goes about her great life with her great family with pride- until she stumbles head first into her neighbor Tyler Duncan. And boy- is she glad his arms caught her.
Tyler is new to town and he and his dog Bruce are immediately smitten with Leah. Well Bruce definitely is and Tyler seemingly is, you hope he is, heck he is just so super sweet to Leah you know there is no way he isn't falling for her. Unfortunately, well it adds to the mysterious alpha Tyler is, we don't know for sure what Tyler is thinking until several chapters into the book when we finally get to hear from him. Boy, does he take the spot of your book boyfriend quickly. Tyler is smitten with Leah and believes in showing her who he truly is before he makes his intentions known. Until then, all I can say is Tyler is a complete sweetheart.
Throughout the book I kept waiting, worrying that Tyler was going to show a bad side and ruin my love for him. Thankfully, Reynolds allows Tyler to be genuine and luscious.
When certain events happen you become suspicious that something might be up and someone wants to cause drama, or pain, to Leah or Tyler- which was uncertain. This adds a great mystery element to the book.
I loved Leah and her sweetness, strength (just ask Dave) and her fierceness (just ask Tyler's mom). Leah truly deserved a great man and Tyler proved that's exactly what he was.
Thanks NetGalley and Montlake Romance for this advanced reader's copy.
I would describe ARR's new How to Catch an Alpha series as the Until series lite and that is just fine and dandy with me! Lower on the angst and danger and just a smidge lighter on the MINE (don't be disappointed by this super alpha H lovers because Tyler is still with it!). Leah has an awesome family and the pets were suuuuuper cute! The thing I REALLY liked about this though was that there was very little back and forth. The MC's talked about things, neither of them were really afraid of letting the other know they were into them, and then just letting the relationship develop in a pretty organic way. How damn refreshing.
4 1/2 stars
Believe it or not this is my first book by this author and I can’t believe what’s I’ve been missing out on. What a sweet and sexy read with just the right amount of trouble thrown in but not between the H/h. I really like this author’s style and I do love a nice organic romance blended with some heat and humor in a very well balanced way. Tyler & Leah are both great characters and I just love how their relationship starts out and how their whole journey goes. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read more from this author!
I was lucky to receive an ARC from the publisher via Netgalley.

Such a fun, sweet, and Hot read!!
What an absolutely sweet and fun read by a great author. The writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shocking moments.
I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
Authors Blurb: Leah Emerson isn’t looking for a man she’s looking for the right man. But her mother’s idea of a great catch leaves her cold, and she’s pretty sure her cocky, arrogant, and way too good-looking new neighbor isn’t the one either. If only her wayward cat would stop jumping through his window, she could get on with her life. Tyler Duncan moved into town for a new job, not to fall in love. But he always goes after the things he wants in life with steadfast determination…and he wants Leah Emerson. He wants her smiles, he wants her touch, and he definitely wants her in bed. Unfortunately, someone else wants Leah in the worst way. Now Tyler’s on a mission to protect the woman he’s falling in love with while proving he’s worth falling for, and Leah must decide whether Tyler is a catch worth catching…
Well let me start by saying
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕
