Becky is back, and this time she is in charge of the family Christmas event! But in true Shopaholic fashion, everything goes wrong, and only Becky can save the holiday. This year her family moved to a super-trendy London suburb alienating their best friend, her sister seems to have a big secret, and everyone has a different definition of what a Christmas holiday should be. To add to the chaos, Becky has to sew a nativity costume for school, plan the perfect gift for Luke (expect some funny escapades there!), and find a meat-free turkey.

In this latest installment, Becky finds a way to get into even more scrapes -- with hilarious results! Christmas Shopaholic is already one of my favorite of the Shopaholic books. In fact, (spoiler here) when she experiences a "wardrobe malfunction" I was laughing so hard my husband insisted I explain the whole thing so he could laugh too (he didn't as he couldn't understand wardrobe issues). The latest in the Shopaholic family is so relatable and current you'll find yourself nodding your head--especially when she is party planning or choosing the perfect gifts.

Don't just put this one on your Christmas list. You will want to have this one read before Christmas.

I was so excited to see that Sophie Kinsella had brought back Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood)’s world and Christmas Shopaholic didn’t disappoint. Like putting on a favorite sweater, it felt so comforting to catch up with Becky and everyone in her life. There were moments where I laughed out loud and moments where I definitely teared up, creating a truly enjoyable book that I’ll recommend for a long time!

I've read every book by Sophie Kinsella (or her other name, Madeline Wickham, for that matter). Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood), the star of the Shopaholic Series, feels like a wacky best friend at this point. She's always getting herself into situations that are absolutely ridiculous and improbable, yet not stupid or silly. I adore her, as well as her kooky family and friends, loving husband and sweet daughter. . . I live for these books.... and I don't want to ruin the ending, but I will say for fellow fans-- Kinsella ABSOLUTELY left it open for yet another Shopaholic book. I'm going to make it my Christmas wish that she does, indeed.

SHE is BACK!!! Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is one of my all-time favorite characters and she was as hilarious and brilliant as ever in this festive story. I was so excited to spend time with Becky it was like catching up with an old friend. I have read and loved every book in this series and while some have been better than others this one was an absolute treat!‘tis the season to be shopping and Becky could not be happier! She barely even bats an eyelash when it is dropped on her that she will be hosting Christmas this year. Becky of course starts making a list and checking it twice, there are lots of things to be done and purchased before the holidays. And in typical Becky fashion more is always better, why have one turkey when you can have three? Becky has grown up somewhat over the course of the series but she has never lost her charm or whimsy! From the creation of a new Norwegian word, to an ex-boyfriend and multiplayer sex. From fighting to join an “old boy billiard club, to60 pounds of fish on the front yard. From hunting down and escaped hamster to an adorable Christmas performance. This book had me smiling and laughing so much that my face hurt.

If you are a fan of this series this is an absolute must! If you have not read the series yet, what are you waiting for? This is Sophie Kinsella at her finest! A delightful lighthearted story that is guaranteed to fill you with the holiday spirit! Fa la la la la la shopaholic!

First off this is book 9 in the shopaholic series. You don't really have to read all the previous books but if you love funny chick-lit books you might want to start from the beginning.

Just like all the previous books, it is hilarious. I had a few laughs out loud moments where my husband asked me what was so funny.

I give this 4 out of 5.

Thank you Dial Press and Netgalley for allowing me to review Christmas Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella available October 15th. As a long time fan of the series, I was very excited to read the newest instalment!

Christmas Shopaholic is the ninth book in the Shopaholic series but I do feel like you can meet Becky any time. She is a character that is naive, loveable and hilarious but never really learns all the lessons life tries to teach her. These books are silly and nice and just a comfort to read.
In Christmas Shopaholic Becky is suddenly hosting her very first Christmas and is navigating her own shopping issues with every one of her guests requests. And they all have opinions on what makes the “perfect” Christmas. Wanting to grant all the Christmas wishes grows increasingly complicated and everything spirals out of control in typical Becky style.
This book would be perfect for anyone looking for a fun read to get them in the holiday mood, especially if they are hosting Christmas dinner for the first time!

I am a long-time fan of Sophie Kinsella and her Becky Bloomwood character! I first discovered the Shopaholic series when it was released in 2000 and I have purchased a hardcover copy each time a new book was released- I love my Shopaholic collection! The previous 8 books were a delight and Christmas Shopaholic was so enjoyable as well. Yes, some of Becky's antics are eye-roll worthy, but that's part of the fun. It was great to catch up with favorite characters like Suze and Tarkie and Becky's mom and dad. Having the book set at Christmas-time made for some fantastically zany situations and I loved every minute. Hope this isn't our last Becky installment!

This book was a fun read to add to the collection of shopaholic series.

This book got me in the Christmas mood early and had me smiling reading Becky's story. She is all over the place and that is what I loved about it. Very entertaining.

I devoured this book like I have all of Sophie Kinsella's "Shopaholic" titles. While reading, I laughed out loud more times than I can count. Thank you for the opportunity to preview this title!

I absolutely love this series! Christmas Shopaholic had more of the Becky Brandon née Bloomwood that I love. It is hilarious to read about the lengths that Becky will go to for what she wants and for her family and friends. I love that she sees the good in people, accepts everyone for who they are and is always willing to help in anyway she can. The ending of this book though!! I hope we don’t have to wait too long for the next book in this series!

Oh how I’ve missed the antics of Becky Bloomwood. She is every bit as hysterical as I remembered. Yes she can be over the top, but my oh my she’s funny and there’s something about her personality that is just so naive that it’s endearing, whereas other characters similar to her may seem flighty/annoying. As someone who can justify any purchase, I always appreciate a good Becky Bloomwood style of reasoning.

Overall, I really enjoyed this long awaited book in the Shopaholic series. If you’re a fan of the series you’ll like it too. I had trouble with the middle section, as I found it dragged on for a bit, but otherwise it’s a light, easy read and is the perfect palate cleanser or slump saver. This one will definitely get you in the mood for the upcoming holidays!
Thanks to Netgalley and Random House for the gifted advanced copy to review. 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒎𝒂𝒔 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒂𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄 is out now!

I am a longtime fan of the Shopaholic series, and if you are as well there's no way that you won't enjoy the latest in the series, Christmas Shopaholic.

In Christmas Shopaholic our familiar favourites are back to entertain us once again. We are reunited with Becky, Luke, and Minnie Brandon, best friends Suze and Tarkie, and of course Becky's hilarious parents. They are all off on new adventures, and will hopefully learn a few lessons along the way. We are also introduced to a few new characters who serve as hilarious (or not so hilarious!) additions to this motley crew.

Even if you're not a huge fan of Christmas you will still enjoy this book. Christmas only serves as a background to this story, which is about family, friendships, and realizing that you are pretty darn great just the way that you are. This book would not be a true Shopaholic book without Becky hitting a few snags along the way, however any fan will know that everything will eventually turn out okay.

This book follows the familiar patterns that fans have come to expect from the Shopaholic series, and if you're anything like me you'll find yourself eager to see what Kinsella comes up with next!

Becky figured out ways to get herself into predicaments once again. I liked a few of the others tory lines and how they all tied together. I still can't believe how much she spends on clothing and items, but I know it is a fiction book. It stresses ME out though....lol! Another fun read in the series and I liked the Christmas and family/friends aspect.

Becky Brandon, nee Bloomwood, tries to shop at places like Bargain Family hoping to find items at discount rates. Oh, but she does like to shop! She is a busy mother with her daughter, Minnie, and she’s married to a wonderful man. Becky works at a shop with her best friend, Suze.

This year, Becky’s family has tasked her with hosting Christmas for her family and friends. Now, her mind is going a mile a minute trying to remember everything that she needs to buy for gifts, decorations, and food.

This year, there is family friction with her parents having just moved to Shoreditch and trying to fit in with the edgy crowd. This move has offended other family members and others are having their own problems. In addition, a guy she dated in college has moved to town and Becky is trying hard to impress him by appearing as cool as possible.

We follow Becky as she delves into her many tasks to make Christmas awesome. Every day is another adventure that leaves readers laughing and loving Becky more than ever. Can she actually pull off the perfect Christmas for everyone?

I have read many of the author’s Shopaholic series and loved them all. Becky is the sweetest little ditz that everyone would love to have for their friend. If you are not familiar with the Shopaholic series, do read this book and I promise that you will be on the hunt to read all of the series. It’s so much fun! Thank you, Sophie Kinsella, for making me laugh once again. Please write more “Becky Books.”

This is one of my favorite reads of 2019. Sophie Kinsella nails the craziness of Christmas perfectly through the eyes of the nutty Becky Brandon, nee Bloomwood. I laughed and cried reading Christmas Shopaholic and found myself pleasantly surprised at the depth of the story. As soon as I finished, I missed Becky and her family and wanted more. Definitely a must for fans of the Shopaholic series and perfect for holiday reading!

I laughed out loud so many times while reading Sophie Kinsella's "Christmas Shopaholic," book #9 in the continuing adventures of Becky Brandon, nee Bloomwood. I have to admit that the previous two books in the series, which were set in Los Angeles, weren't my favorite because they seemed to have lost some of the charm of the earlier books, so I was concerned that the series had run out of gas. However, "Christmas Shopaholic" was easily one of my favorite books of the entire series. It was sweet, funny, and completely heartwarming, and I found it to be a wonderful way to start getting into the Christmas spirit.

I have always loved Becky's imagination, and it is on full display in this story. Ms. Kinsella's vivid descriptions of Becky's imaginings were a lot of fun, and I could see some of the scenes unfolding as if they were on a movie screen. I also loved the fact that the characters still managed to surprise me, even after so many books. A good example is Becky's parents' move to Shoreditch, which they seemed to love. I never would have expected that lifestyle to appeal to them, but apparently it did!

Finally, I adored the book's ending because it left all of the characters in such a good place. As much as I love Becky and her zany band of family and friends, I wouldn't mind if this is where the series ends. It's hard to imagine how Ms. Kinsella could top this book!
