Omg I didn't realize how much I missed Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) till I read the first two pages of this! I will say, at her first lie to Luke I caught myself exclaiming "Noooo, Becky! Don't lie!" out loud. To myself. I devoured this book in a couple of hours, it was such a fun read. I feel like we got SO MUCH thrown into this one (shopping, family drama, ex drama, business drama, school drama!) but it really came together to form a quick, action-packed book with heart. Loved to see how Becky has evolved and I am SO ready for the holidays now!

Bex, Luke, Suze, Tarkie, and the rest of the gang are back for another Shopaholic adventure! Queen of (dis) organization Becky is tasked this year with hosting the family Christmas. She is determined to make it the best Christmas ever, making lists and checking them twice to ensure everything is perfect. Of course her crazy family and group of friends have to have their say in her planning! Bex's sister Jess is all about sustainability and has gone vegan, so of course everything on her end must meet that criteria. Bex's mom and dad have adopted a more "hippie" lifestyle...Suze wants her two cents in as well. Will Becky catch a break? The meal planning, the decorating, the gifts...and of course, there is little Minnie and her nativity play where Becky has to make the costume. Of course it too has to be the best costume ever! She will spare no expense!
Of course it would not be a Shopaholic novel if there wasn't SHOPPING!!! While out crossing items off her list, Becky runs across the PERFECT coat for Luke for Christmas. Of course it is part of a raffle drawing for an exclusive Men's Billiards Club. Becky, being Becky, decides she will do whatever it takes to win that coat so she begins her lobbying to become part of this exclusive club!
Meanwhile a visit from ex boyfriend Craig and his new eccentric, pushy, and vindictive girlfriend Nadine threatens to shake up Becky's plans for Christmas. Nadine shares Becky's "stop at nothing" mentality and wants in with Luke's company. When she shows up uninvited to Minnie's birthday party and Luke rejects her, she begins planning her revenge.
After countless hiccups with the menu, decorations, and gifts...Becky finally seems to have it together but her world starts falling apart when one by one family and friends call/email/text to tell her they are no longer coming to Christmas. But she had it all planned! How did this happen? When they discover the email to everyone originated from a fake "Brandon Communication" email address, they discover it was Nadine so all ends up merry and bright and the family and friends all have the perfect Christmas! What Christmas surprise does Becky have in store for Luke? Must read to find out!

This was a fun return to the antics of Becky Brandon née, Bloomwood and all her family and friends. Becky is ready for Christmas at her parent's house, but it turns out they're moving to an apartment so Jess and Tom can use the house. This leaves Becky as the hostess and shenanigans ensue. I don't want to give away anything about the rest of the story because it's more fun to experience it all with Becky and pals. I give this a solid 3.5 stars. The end has a situation while Becky is getting a gift at last minute for Minnie that was just not needed and annoyed me.

Thank you too Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Becky Brandon( née Bloomwood) is back and has t lost any of her shopping mojo! She’s back from the United States with her husband, and mini me daughter , Minnie, to start up her antics. All the old favorites are back ! Her best friend Suz is now her employer at the small gift shop she opened on her estate. Her parents who always host the Christmas holiday have suddenly decided to pack it in and retire to a smaller place in trendy Shoreditch. This leaves Becky holding the “bag” as the new Christmas holiday host. In typical Becky style, she has to out do everyone and go over the top but this time will Becky be able to bring comfort and joy to everyone involved or will it just end up in the usually typically Becky Brandon mess? Give yourself some early Christmas joy and read this book it will surely put an early holiday grin on your face.. Sophie Kinsella has done it again.

Becky is back! It’s been a long four years, and I couldn’t be more excited! This book was absolutely hysterical. I so love reading about all of Becky’s antics and crazy adventures. The Christmas theme was great too! Sophie Kinsella leaves a little surprise at the end of this book which makes me hopeful for more to come in the near future. For a funny, festive, and lighthearted holiday read be sure to pick up Christmas Shopaholic!

It has been a while since I've read a Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) book, and have I missed her! This book was cute (just like all the Shopaholic books that I have read are) and a very quick read. It will be a fun holiday book, to help you forget your own stresses of hosting a holiday event. Thank you Sophia Kinsella for giving us Becky - she is always up to something that will undoubtedly make you laugh!
Thank you NetGalley and Random House for this arc!

YAY! For fans of Sophie Kinsella, get ready for excitement because our favorite main character, Becky Brandon, is back in Christmas Shopaholic! I was thrilled when I saw that this book was coming out in October. No matter what, author Sophie Kinsella never lets me down with her stories of hapless Becky and her entanglements.

Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) adores Christmas. It’s always the same – Mum and Dad hosting, carols playing, Mum pretending she made the Christmas pudding, and the next-door neighbours coming round for sherry in their terrible festive jumpers.

And now it’s even easier with online bargain-shopping sites – if you spend enough you even get free delivery. Sorted!

But this year looks set to be different. Unable to resist the draw of craft beer and smashed avocado, Becky’s parents are moving to ultra-trendy Shoreditch and have asked Becky if she’ll host Christmas this year. What could possibly go wrong?

With sister Jess demanding a vegan turkey, husband Luke determined that he just wants aftershave again, and little Minnie insisting on a very specific picnic hamper – surely Becky can manage all this, as well as the surprise appearance of an old boyfriend and his pushy new girlfriend, whose motives are far from clear . . .

Will chaos ensue, or will Becky manage to bring comfort and joy to Christmas?

By now I have read everything Sophie has written and I enjoy each one. These are fun books with a lot of heart and leave you feeling happy.

If you have been a fan of the Shopaholic series of books by Sophie Kinsella, then Christmas Shopaholic will not disappoint. Becky Bloomwood is back and tasked by her mother to host Christmas this year. Simutaneously rooting for her to succeed and smacking your forehead when she does something crazy, this book is a light fun holiday read.

If one is addicted to shopping in any form, this might be the book for you. It is advertised as laugh out-loud funny and a great read. I could not finish it. Not my personal style.

I have read every one in this series and I love them!!!!!!!!! Sometimes I think Becky is crazy but most of the times she makes me laugh and has a heart of gold. I never want this series to end!!!!!! It is Christmas time for our favorite girl Becky Brandon nee' Bloomwood, her favorite season. She loves Christmas and all that comes w/it. The presents, family-time, and of course the amazing shopping. This year is different because Becky has to host her entire family all on her own this Christmas. Usually her mom does it. She goes through stages of "I can do this" to "OMG this can't be happening ". Can our girl do it??? Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing for my honest review.

This book is the perfect read both for fans of the Shopaholic series or for standalone holiday fiction. Becky Brandon, nee Bloomwood, is given the task of hosting Christmas for the very first time for a group of family and friends. In true Becky style, nothing is straight-forward or easy, but instead full of challenges and getting in way over her head. The “perfect” Christmas is never easy, but the antics of Mrs Brandon make for a lot of belly laughs and OMG’s! From trying to join an All Men’s Club in order to win the perfect gift for her husband Luke, to trying to create her own Vegan Turkey, this book had me laughing like only Becky can.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good comedy or feels stressed preparing for Christmas. A definite 5 star read!

I read several of the Shopaholic books throughout high school and college, but had not read the series in quite some time. I was excited to read “Christmas Shopaholic” and be reunited with Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) with a holiday season theme. As Christmas approaches, Becky takes on the task of hosting her family and friends for the holiday. As Becky juggles planning Christmas, shopping for gifts, and drama with family and friends, inevitable chaos ensues. The novel is light-hearted and funny, and had me laughing out loud at parts! Becky is a beloved and hilarious character, and I enjoyed reading about her again. Christmas is my favorite time of year, so I am always drawn to books and movies set during this joyous time. I read this book in September, ahead of the book’s release, and it got me into the Christmas spirit early!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for an advance copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

I was very unfortunately disappointed by this book. I love winter set books but this just didn't do it for me

Most of the time Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) drives me nuts. She is completely caught up in superficialities and she has no impulse control or self-awareness. It seems like Kinsella has tried to recuperate her a bit by suggesting that her compulsive spending is all about caring about other people, but I don’t buy it.

That being said, I also find the shopaholic books completely engrossing, and this one is no exception. Becky has been voluntold to host this year’s family Christmas celebration, and it completely freaks her out. She is being pulled in all directions by family and friends who have different ideas about the perfect Christmas, and she tries to buy ten of everything to make them happy. There’s also an absurd rabbit hole where she tries to wheedle a portmanteau out of a stuffy makes-only billiards club (you’ll have to read it for yourself. I can’t do it justice). There’s complete chaos leading up to Christmas, and I was completely along for the ride.

It’s a fun book, even if Becky is infuriating.
