Light and funny, this Shopaholic book will get you in the Christmas spirit and reunite you with an old friend. As we catch up with Becky, we see that while she has aged and matured in some regards (she’s happily married and has toned down the shopping), she hasn’t changed in other ways (she is still as feisty as ever, making for plenty of laughs and misadventures). When we check in with Becky, she is doing a little online shopping - trying to steal some awesome deals and driving Luke a little crazy in the process. She’s got a lot on her plate as she prepares for Christmas, and we’re taken along on all her funny adventures.

As always, Sophie Kinsella’s writing is great and makes the pages fly by. It’s easy to get into the story and you’ll have a smile on your face plenty of times along the way. As a love of all Kinsella’s shopaholic series, I knew this book would not disappoint me. I mean, this has to be the ultimate shoppers dream or nightmare at Christmas- right?!

Becky returns in classic form as she is thrown into hosting Christmas this year. Her parents have moved into a young, hipster area of London leaving their home in the capable hands of Becky’s sister Jess and her husband Tom. This brings the obvious chaos to longtime lovable neighbors Janice and her hubby.

Becky is on a tear trying to find perfect presents for all, creating the perfect Christmas for everyone and forgets to enjoy herself in the mix. There are the usual Becky and Suze mixups and even and old boyfriend mishap to spice up the storyline.

Not your typical Christmas story, but sure to make you laugh this holiday when you need it!

I love Sophie Kinsella books especially the Shopaholic books and Becky Bloomwood is back all her old tricks, humor and heart!

Becky is still shopping way too much but now she is an online shopaholic! Becky is distracted by her online prizes and with the upcoming Christmas holiday she is supposed to host, it sets the stage for some funny moments, as Becky is completely overwhelmed. Becky is a lot like myself and friends I know. She shops to show how much she loves her family and friends.. Which is what makes me so drawn to it.

This novel, made me both laugh out loud and commiserate a bit. It is the perfect holiday read to unwind with a glass of hot cocoa or nice glass of wine, either way the Becky we have learned to know and love is at it again and this time she is at her best. The Holidays will never be the same. Ha!

This series never gets old and I have a feeling I need to do an entire re-read of the series because of how much I adore it! I am actually pretty sure that Confessions of a Shopaholic was my first "adult" read and what really got me interested in reading in general so, thank you Sophie Kinsella! If you are a fan of the series you won't want to miss this one! It's just as amazing as all the previous books!

After returning to England from the States, Becky is all grown up and is a wonderful mama (mum). She has a good job, working for her best friend, Suze and is living in a fab house in the village. Her marriage is solid and while Minnie hasn’t become a big sister yet, Becky is enjoying life. But the holidays are rolling around and this year, it’s Becky’s turn to host Christmas! In true Becky form, she gets herself into many scrapes and sticky situations and she always manages to surprise everyone along the way.

I feel I have grown up along with Becky over the years and I can honestly say this is the best installment yet. Maybe because we in similar phases of life and I can relate more to this Becky. Regardless, Sophie Kinsella truly delivers with Christmas Shopaholic. It will be so fun to read over the holidays in the middle of all the chaos, I mean fun.

Sounds easy right??? What could go wrong? Can she juggle the many expectations her guests have? Can she cater to each of their individual needs while trying to find her husband Luke the perfect gift? Can she do it all alone and on time? While finding the perfect decorations and the just the right outfit? All while dealing with the appearance of her ex boyfriend from cCollege?

Firstly, I am not going to lie, I’m a massive shopaholic fan! This book excited the hell out of me and it did not disappoint!! The shopaholic series is one of the best book series around. It’s quippy, fun and hilariously entertaining. She literally gets herself into the best situations and most of the time it’s of her own making! There is no other book like it. I find most of the chick lit, fluff reads, whatever you want to call them, tend to have the same general feel to them. The same over done protagonist. This author, for me, always brings a new adventure that, while keeping the heart of the shophalic books firmly in place, brings a whole new level of entertainment.

Becky ends up being saddled with hosting Christmas for the first time ever. Scared at first, she decides that the idea is perfect and sets about bringing the best Christmas festivities ever! While trying get all the food needed and delivered whilst catering to her vegan half sister, with everyone having different ideas on the food, on the stuffing, the entertainment, decorations and none of them managing their own expectations.
Becky runs into an old boyfriend, a musician, she’s flustered that maybe, she’s not hip anymore. Trying to juggle her responsibilities at her work, being the crafty mother that her daughters school teacher expects, while trying to prepare for the Christmas to end all Christmases the worse things happen….. Her husband Luke buys himself the very item Becky had planned to get him for Christmas. Now she’s under the gun to find the perfect present for the man she adores!

Luke Brandon is one of my favourite men in literature. Swoonsville. He is quietly tolerant of his quirky wife and loves her with such passion that I can’t help feeling a little jealous! He knows who she is and what she’s about and he adores her anyway. Her best friend Suze is a little more levelheaded but just as zany! I love everyone of the characters. I’m not a huge fan of Jess, her sister but I can see she is there to balance Becky out. She brings a certain simplicity to a woman who’s anything but simple!

Becky literally takes something innocent and blows it so far out of reality that you cannot help laughing at the absurdity of it. You can really feel her compassion and huge heart through every single page. When I finished reading the book I felt like I had just had the best day of my life with my best friend. It had me smiling, laughing out loud and shaking my head at the sillier moments.

The book was by far, for me, the best yet. I really hope that there are more Becky adventures to come as I’m so not ready to say goodbye. If you have never read the shopaholic series then what are you waiting for! You will wonder why you didn’t do it sooner and then you can come thank me with a big glass of gin and tonic…. hold the avocado :)

Awesome. I loved this book so much. My favorite Shopaholic book since Mini-Shopaholic (and possibly since Shopaholic Ties the Knot). I'm glad that Becky seems to have grown as a person, I love that her problems extend to things other than over-spending - but she's also true to who she is. She's passionate about things. She cares about people. Such a great, heart-warming story.

Becky's parents move and her mom gives her the task of hosting Christmas at Becky's house this year.  In typical Becky fashion, there is plenty of shopping but also hilarious situations she gets herself into. I really enjoyed this read and hope the ending is alluding to another book in the serious!

Christmas Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella is the latest installment of the fabulous Shopaholic series featuring our ever loving, neurotic, endearing female character, Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood.
Becky is hilarious, high-strung, intelligent, flawed, yet is sweet, has a kind soul, and tender-hearted. One cannot help but love her and forgive her for her antics and for getting herself caught up in a whole array of shenanigans against her better judgement. I love the way she and her family care about one another, and I love the interactions between her and her husband Luke. It is obvious that she truly has Luke and Minnie’s happiness as her priority, yet somehow she gets caught up in a whole host of crazy situations, that just makes her an even better person then if she was “perfect”.
This was a great Christmas story and I LOVED the ending.

Great addition to the series. Bravo.

It's like Sophie Kinsella wanted to give everyone a great Christmas present! I love Becky Bloomwood Brandon. Though flawed and somewhat shallow, Becky has a heart of gold and Kinsella writes her in a way that makes me laugh out loud! The secondary characters add to the hilarity. This was a joy to read and can't wait to share it with others for the holiday season.

This was just your standard Shopaholic book continuation. I felt like I enjoyed it more because it had been awhile since I read the last one. Becky Bloomwood stayed her normal self but I felt like that because I'm more of an adult now, I enjoyed it more. I feel like I can follow her train of thought even though all of us readers are cringing at what we know comes next. It was a feel good book and will be perfect for Christmas.

“Christmas Shopaholic” is a cute story about the stress people feel when trying to prepare for the perfect holiday, purchase the perfect gifts, and please everyone. A bit predictable, but an easy enjoyable read.

Becky is a whirling dervish of a thinker: one idea snowballs into another and another, building so much momentum that she might just be buried by it. But things have a way of working themselves out and just when you start to think that her life is a hopeless muddle, it all works out. There were times when I almost gave up on Christmas Shopaholic as it seemed to just careen hopelessly along. I'm glad I didn't, for JoJo Moyes has a gift for keeping everything straight and neatly bringing it to a satisfying conclusion.

Christmas Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella is a continuation of the Confessions of a Shopaholic series, centered on Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) hosting her family’s Christmas celebration for the first time. Jess, Beck’s sister, is demanding a vegan turkey, her husband, Luke, insists he just wants aftershave, and her daughter Minnie eyeing a specific picnic hamper. It shouldn’t be a problem for Becky to manage all of this, along with everyone else’s demands. Will there be chaos or will Becky pull together an amazing Christmas for her family?

The story was sweet, like comfort food in book form, but the Becky character seems a little redundant after this many books. She never really changes and this story feels like any of the other Shopaholic books, just set during Christmastime. I wish there was a little bit of a twist or something. At this point, Becky, who is a mother and a wife, still seems like an immature twenty-something with no regard for money. I really like Sophie Kinsella, but I think I’m going to pass on any future Shopaholic books.

There were plenty of characters and situations that lent itself to side stories that will make the reader go -- now, where is this going? OR who is this character again because I completely forgot his significance (i.e., Edwin)? -- since this story meandered to its HEA. Honestly, that 1st shopping mishap in the beginning of the book (i.e., jumpsuit) was such a cringe-y incident that I was wondering why do I put myself through Becky's mishaps! Thankfully, all's well that end's well for Bex and friends.

Reading a “Shopaholic” novel is like indulging in a favorite dessert; you know what to expect, but the delightedness is what makes it so enjoyable, but it’s not something that you’d want to eat every day. Fans of Becky Brandon née Bloomwood will not be disappointed in Sophie Kinsella’s latest novel, “The Christmas Shopaholic.” I love Sophie Kinsella’s stand alone books, but I hadn’t realized how much I had missed Becky until I opened this book to its first chapter where Becky’s typically instructed herself not to panic.

Becky’s parents have rented a flat in London while Becky’s half sister stays at the family home in Oxshott while waiting to adopt a child with husband, Tom. Accordingly, the family has tasked Becky with hosting Christmas, which she plans for in typical Becky fashion,. This means going the extra mile (and beyond) for husband Luke’s gift, making Minnie’s costume for the Nativity play, and deciding on purchasing multiple Christmas trees versus one. If that isn’t enough, there are subplots aplenty including a return of an old boyfriend of Becky’s, an invention of a Norwegian holiday, a estrangement between Becky’s mom and neighbor, Janice, and helping school mom, Steph, cope with her husband’s infidelity.

Nothing unexpected happens in this novel—Luke continues to heroically put up with his wife’s antics, Becky hilariously misinterprets several situations, and family and friends pull together for a warm and happy ending, but isn’t what one wants most from a good dessert is a satisfied feeling? This novel is a perfect treat for Becky and Sophie Kinsella fans. I'd like to thank NetGalley, Dial Press and the author for providing me a copy of this novel.

I currently have a library hold on one of Sophie Kinsella’s books – you can imagine how happy I was to receive a copy of “Christmas Shopaholic”. The book was everything I hoped for… and more! I loved the references to earlier adventures of Becky Brandon, nee Bloomwood. I enjoyed catching up with her family and friends. I could relate to her stress over hosting events in her home. This was just a very enjoyable book for me. I have stated on several occasions that I am stingy with stars but I happily give this book 5 stars!

It is always nice to be reunited with Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood and her friends and family! I love the Shopaholic series and as long as Sophie Kinsella keeps writing books in the series, I will keep reading them.

With her parents moving out of their house, everyone thinks it is the perfect opportunity for Becky to host Christmas at her home. Everyone has ideas on what the perfect Christmas should be and Becky being Becky tries to accommodate it all, with of course some shopping and the hilarious situations that only she can find herself in, along the way.

I can't wait for the next installment in the series and to read more about Becky's antics!

I love the Shopaholic series of books; always have since I read the first one. However, I felt this particular one was a bit too busy for my taste. It still had the fun of a Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood story, but I felt that poor Becky had WAY too much going on. There's only so much a poor girl can handle. I think some of the circumstances could definitely have been omitted. That being said, I do appreciate that Becky is still the same, cute shopaholic that she always has been. The poor girl just needs a break!
