Many of the early Shopaholic books were published when I was in college and I absolutely adored them. I was excited to read this one and was expecting to love it just as much, but it totally fell flat for me. I put it down and picked it back up a few times but struggled to get through it and eventually gave up. Maybe I outgrew Becky. Maybe she'll never mature? Her antics are no longer cute and silly.

Becky Brandon is hosting Christmas at her house for the first time. Friends and relatives are all helping her plan and clamoring for their favorite dishes, favorite decorations and favorite drinks all while Becky is trying to find the perfect present for her husband and daughter. Her minimalist, environmentalist, feminist sister Jess is trying to help her limit her shopping and buying. All is, again, resolved by Christmas.

One chapter in and I was already laughing. Becky’s shopping problems have certainly not gone away and with the ease of online shopping, plus daily deals and minimum purchase for free shipping, she’s got a recipe for disaster. Add to that, the extra guilt of shopping ethically per her sister’s recommendation, she’s going to have trouble finding places to put everything.

I can totally relate to her elation at getting deliveries but I feel like I’m not as bad as she is on my worst shopping day. How does she manage to pay for it all?!

I know this is a bit older of a book, however, I love Sophie but am just finding little to love about this series the farther it goes. Still really appreciate her stand alone books.

This wasn't my favorite Shopaholic book but you just can't NOT love Becky as a character. I can't really write a longer review because it just goes along the same formula as her other books. I still give it 3 stars though just because I love the author and Becky.

I believe I have outgrown Becky Bloomwood. In my 20's, I fell in love with the character and her stories. But now, as an almost 40-year old woman, I find her to be so self-involved and bratty. I find her very unrelatable and her spending to be out of control. I don't find it "tee hee" funny to spend insane of amounts of money. And her husband...don't even get me started. What a pushover---in my opinion, he needs to grow a pair and cut her off. Sorry Becky, I'm done with you! Couldn't even finish.

I think Christmas Shopaholic has been my favorite ShopGirl novel since the first one- I loved seeing how Becky Bloomwood (nee Brandon) has changed since having a family. While she is still hilariously outrageous, I liked that her priorities have changed a little regarding her spending. She wants everything to be perfect for her first hosting of Christmas, and man what a hard thing to accomplish! Kinsella has helped me remember why I loved Becky so much in the beginning, while also giving her a solid character development that Bridget Jones would be envious of.

I do love Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) so very, very much, but is it time for Becky to retire to her blissful life in the country with the best husband, family & friends? I think it might be...

While I received this ARC well before the book was released to the public last year, after starting it, I had a really hard time wanting to continue reading. I only just finished it this weekend...almost 4 months after the initial download.

However, this happened before with Mini-Shopaholic...I'm not sure I *ever* finished it, to be honest, and I enjoyed the next, Shopaholic to the Stars.

Also, I started reading about Becky's misadventures when I was 22...I'm now 40. Maybe I'm also outgrowing them a bit. I think I'm starting to prefer Sophie Kinsella's stand-alones instead.

This one wasn't that good but I kept going because I love Sophie. The ending was unwarranted and while I'm excited, it felt like a last minute save for the series.

Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) adores Christmas. It's always the same Mum and Dad hosting, carols playing, Mum pretending she made the Christmas pudding, and the next door neighbors coming round for sherry in their terrible festive jumpers.

And now it's even easier with online bargain shopping sites if you spend enough you even get free delivery. Sorted!

But this year looks set to be different. Unable to resist the draw of craft beer and smashed avocado, Becky's parents are moving to ultra trendy Shoreditch and have asked Becky if she'll host Christmas this year. What could possibly go wrong?

With sister Jess demanding a vegan turkey, husband Luke determined that he just wants aftershave again, and little Minnie insisting on a very specific picnic hamper surely Becky can manage all this, as well as the surprise appearance of an old boyfriend and his pushy new girlfriend, whose motives are far from clear. Will chaos ensue, or will Becky manage to bring comfort and joy to Christmas?

The plot is clever and it follows the same plot structures as the earlier novels in the series and that plot line is getting a little played out. The characters are well developed, well written, quirky, and lifelike, you'll find yourself liking some characters and disliking other characters.

I found the subplot of having Becky's ex boyfriend being introduced into the story seemed to be unnecessary and it didn't seem to really work at all with the books plot. I can't stand Jess and how she acts when people don't seem to live to her standards, it seems that she's always complaining about everything and everyone that don't measure up to her standards. I would like to see Becky finally grow up and start behaving like an adult rather than a teenager who hot a hold of her parents high limit credit cards and goes on a shopping spree that never seems to end. With all the shopping that Becky has done through out the series I am surprised that she ever got married or managed to have a child. If there is another book in this series and given the big cliffhanger there may be another book but I'm not sure if I will even pick it up to read it.

Becky loves Christmas - especially when her mother hosts it. This year, however, her mom and dad have moved to a new area and have asked Becky to host Christmas. This adds a bit of stress to her already busy life, with her job, her family and her habitual shopping. Christmas dinner has to take into account her vegan sister and brother in law and the various suggestions made by the invited guests. Then there is the gift list which must be procured keeping in mind that her mother's friend always regifts her gifts and her sister is extremely ecologically minded. The stress begins to build and at one point everything seems about to go bust, but Becky winds up having a wonderful Christmas with her family anyway.

This was a delightful read. The characters are all funny and pretty realistic. Becky's philosophy of shopping is hilarious and the story line kept me coming back to the book again and again. I strongly recommend this book.

I read this book in the fall - it was perfect for getting me in the holiday mood. This was a great book!

Sophie Kinsella can do no wrong in my eyes. She is an instant buy author for me and her latest in the “Shopaholic” series did not disappoint. Hilarious and heartwarming

I have never read any of Sophie Kinsella's books. This was such a fun read about a girl, Becky, who shops......A LOT! Specifically online shopping, which I can totally relate too. She has also become in charge of her family's holiday dinner. That would totally make me nervous. Of course her obsession with missing a great deal online makes her completely blurred with her responsibilities of a great dinner. I really enjoyed Becky's character and I look forward to reading more by this author.

Beckie is flawed and fun and sharp; if everything went smoothly for her, well, there would be no stories! In this installment it's her responsibility to host the Christmas festivities -- meaning that nothing will go quite as planned despite her efforts! I loved the newest installment in the Shopaholic series! It was so fun to revisit Becky Brandon, nee Bloomwood, once again and it felt like seeing old friends.

Sophie Kinsella's writing, as always, is full of humor and warmth. Becky gets herself into some typical Becky Bloomwood situations, but we also see a side of her that is loving and selfless and really sweet to see. I love the interactions between Becky and her husband Luke also.

Some of the drama felt a little far-fetched, but it was a step down from the drama in the last book for sure! Overall, it was a fun and highly entertaining read - and if you've been following along with Becky throughout the years or are new to the series, it's definitely a book you'll want to pick up and enjoy.

I just love this series and this one did not disappoint. A totally laugh out loud hilarious story that I could not put down. Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood takes on Christmas dinner for the family for the first time. If you have read the Shopaholic series you can well imagine the shenanigans Becky gets into.
I will definitely continue reading this series and thank you to Random House and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this fabulous story.
