Description
Ivy Preston has waited a long time to get married. This time she plans to do more than make it to the altar. But when Ivy tries to do a good deed and stumbles over a body, she and her former fiancé, Stanley, are accused of the crime. Ivy hopes she’s not the only one who believes in their innocence. Worse than being framed for murder, when one of her beloved kittens falls ill, Ivy must face her greatest fears. How will she ever parent a child if she can’t even take care of a cat. . .and for that matter, how will she be the type of wife her devoted fiancé needs? Through the love and support of her mom, fiancé, and friends, Ivy is determined to clear Stanley's good name, and her own. With nuptials looming, Ivy hopes not only to find a killer, but to make it to her own wedding.

My Review:
This is definitely a christian cozy mystery. Meow Matrimony finds Ivy trying to prove Stanley is guilty of murder. It is well written and the characters are interesting. So much so that at times you are not very happy with Ivy. There are enough turns and twists that it keeps you guessing and i enjoy those types of books.

I have not read the previous book in the series, but will definitely read now. I received this book free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. If you enjoy cozy mysteries, then this book is for you.

Ivy is in the midst of wedding planning and settling into her new home in Apple Grove. In an act of kindness, Ivy returns some wedding invitations that were sent to her address by mistake. While returning the invitations, Ivy stumbles, quite literally over a dead body. When she becomes a suspect in the ensuing investigation, Ivy decides to do some investigating herself, leading her on a wild ride.
This is the first in the fancy cat mystery series I have read although I believe there are previous stories in this series out already. This is a fast paced mystery told with a Christian slant, and although this was outside of my usual reading habits, I did not find it off-putting in the least. There were plenty of viable suspects to sift through in order to figure out the killer in the end. The quirky characters added an extra level of humor, especially Ivy's friend Elvis, who I would love to meet in real life. The ending definitely hinted at future installments which I look forward reading as well. I highly recommend this series for cozy mystery fans, especially those who love and adore cats.

I enjoyed the mystery and I think the added humor makes it even more entertaining. I did feel a little lost a couple times because I have not read the other books in the series and had to play catch up on what was going on. All in all it is a fun read and I will read future books in the series. The author does a wonderful job making you wonder until the very end “Who Dunnit.” Filled with a fascinating cast of characters, Meow Matrimony is an entertaining read. I can’t wait to see what Ivy and Lisa Lickel are up to next!

I received this ARC via NetGalley and the publisher in return for an honest review. This was an easy read, with a well-told story. Imagine receiving your wedding invitations and finding out that they actually are those of a local celebrity. When you do the good deed to deliver them, you stumble across the body of the other bride! Ivy just wants to marry her sweetheart, Adam and live happily ever after in their small town, with their feline family. When she's accused of murdering Ivanna, in cooperation with Ivy's former fiancee, Stanley, it doesn't seem like wedding bells will be ringing for anyone. Luckily, Ivy has her mom, Adam and lots of friends to help get everything sorted before the wedding. This is a gentle cosy and an easy read.

I admit that I wasn't sure that I'd enjoy this one, but found myself reading late into the night. I didn't want to put it down. The book was well-written with interesting characters and a great story-line. I can't wait to read the next in the series.

This book is titled under the "Fancy Cat Mysteries" but frankly, the cats have very little to do with the story. They seem like accessories. And, it also appears that the purebred cats owned by the main characters seem to have been allowed to mate & produce kittens that will be shared with friends, rather than doing the responsible thing of spay/neutering. That part turned me off.

The story line was OK, but seemed a bit too obvious. I found myself checking to see how much was left in the book. The main characters (an engaged couple) were rather boring and the female protagonist seemed a little too dependent on her fiance for my liking. That seemed to mix strangely with her mother who was a career woman. Also, there were a lot of references to a previous murder (the former mayor) that were not well explained--leaving me to recommend reading this series in order if you attempt it.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Pelican Book Group for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. It is the 2nd in a series, and I think they should be read.in order, as I was a bit confused at times. I am sad to say that I didn't really like any of the characters except the cats! What exactly does Ivy do? Bookstore clerk? Unfortunately, she comes across as not very smart and her previous taste in boyfriends is questionable! Plus Adam keeps secrets from her, he can't trust her?? This is a quick read and an ok mystery. I rate it a 3.

I'm not familiar with this author, however, the title and cover caught my attention.
The story was interesting, a murdered bride to be, another bride to be discovers the body and soon becomes a person of interest.
Ivy decides to take matters into her own hands and looks for the answers to the untimely death.
Usually I find a character that I can relate to, every it isn't the protagonist. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to discover one in this story. While it is a well told story, I found some ho hum parts as well, that had me skimming the words, anxiously awaiting for an exciting part.
As a dedicated fan of cozy mysteries, I'm always willing to give a series a second chance.
I will probably read another in this series and will hopefully find that character that I adore.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for approving me to read this book.

Ivy is just trying to be helpful and deliver wedding invitations that are mistakenly delivered to her but that gets her into trouble when instead she finds a body. Initially, her ex-fiance seemed the likely suspect but what happened next was a surprise to all.

I enjoyed the mystery and I think the added humor makes it even more entertaining. I did feel a little lost a couple times because I have not read the other books in the series and had to play catch up on what was going on. All in all it is a fun read and I will read future books in the series. Thanks to Pelican Book Group and NetGalley for and advance copy. The opinions are my own.

Meow Matrimony by Lisa Lickel is a cute mystery and pretty quick read. This is book two in the series and while each mystery is wrapped up by the end of the book, reading book one first will give you more insight into the characters that carry over from one book to the next. Adam Thompson, mayor of Apple Grove and Ivy Preston are set to be wed in just a few weeks when heir lives are overturned by murder. The story begins with a mix-up of wedding invitations. When Ivanna is found murdered Ivy is arrested for killing her. How does trying to do a good deed lead to murder? Does Ivy have any motive for wanting Ivanna dead? There are lots of twists and turns along the way to the ending. Adam and Ivy also have rare Egyptian Mau cats who come into play as the story progresses.
I enjoyed this book and I did purchase book one and read it first. I think I would have been to confused as to characters otherwise, but that may just be me. The story moves at a good pace and keeps the reader wanting to know what will happen next. The main characters go from book to book so I feel like I know them well. I give this book 5 of 5 stars.
I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Princess Fuzzypants here: Two humans, brought together by two cats who now are the proud parents of four adorable kittens, a murder, discovered by our heroine, a wedding, and personal demons almost getting in the way of true happiness: it has all the elements that should make the cat lover or cat fall head over paws. It was good but it did not sweep me away and I wondered why.
I think in the midst of putting lots of moving parts in a mystery to keep the reader guessing, there is always the danger of putting in too much extraneous stuff. And there were times when I just shook my head at the things Ivy did.
It weakened the story and it made the heroine, at times, not very likeable or smart. If you are going to write a cozy that is dangerous for readers like me who like our heroines plucky and brave and intelligent. She does not go out looking to get herself killed or anything. She just does not seem particularly bright.
Still, it was an okay read but did not find me longing for the next book. I give it three purrs and two paws up.

A pleasant cozy mystery. Some cats, a murder, a few clues, several suspects, surprises, and a wedding. Wedding invitations are delivered to the wrong address sending our protagonist off on an adventure. Many interesting characters. A clever ending with hints of more to come.

Kindle Copy for Review from Net Galley.

I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

vy is finally getting married but making it down the altar might be a problem. Trying to do a good deed finds her and her former fiancée stumbling over a dead body as they become the prime suspects. Which leads her to figure out who could possible frame them?

Throw in a sick kitten in the mix as she questions if she could make a good mother if she cannot take care of a little kitten. Will the wedding take place or will she be dead or will to cold feet get to her?

A cute cozy mystery read.
