I thought this was a useful book for anyone looking to make a big move abroad. This brought up several things I hadn’t thought about. Lots of good points.
A comprehensive look at moving abroad, having done it myself a book like this would have made it so much easier!
This truly is an essential book. I've considered moving abroad for years and became too intimidated when I started to do the research. Having everything detailed out in one book (that includes checklists, clear, logical steps) is amazing and makes me feel as if my dream can come true. That's not to say it would be easy -- Ms. Firican provides stories, information, and resources that are all fantastic but still it all can be daunting when going through it all. The book is also great for those who just stay in their own country yet want a change (new home, job, business, etc.). This is a great book that I will keep on hand to remind me it's been done and I can do it as well.
very interesting book to read. It’s a subject I’m very interested in. So for that reason I really wanted to read it. It was full of lots of very useful information. Lots of great ideas. Very useful source of knowledge
This book is a really great starting place, especially if you are American and looking to move abroad. I know all of the info offered on-line is confusing. This is very informative!
A big thank you to NetGalley and Diana Firican for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I currently live in the Marshall Islands and did not have this book as a guide I just did it with 2 suitcases. Yes I am a bit crazy! It is an adventure and can be very stressful. A book like this would have been helpful. The book is well organized but I think the most difficult decision is the first one you have to hurdle! Where do I want to live? I am still trying to decide where to retire? There are lots of great tips. Well worth reading and dreamin! 4 stars. Enjoy
A great start for those who want to move to another country. It is not country origin specific which is nice - so it is not USA specific, it could be anywhere. A range of topics from start to finish are talked about. There is an idea of what the process may look like.
Even if you’re just thinking about moving to another country, Diana Firican’s book, Moving Abroad, will prove to be immensely helpful. It is filled with advice and what to consider before, during and after the move. It includes information about what to expect along the way and how to handle paperwork, job hunting, housing, and the actual move itself (and a whole lot more!).
Since I’m a consummate list-maker, I particularly like the detailed check lists that are provided. Much of the information is country or region specific, which is also very valuable. In addition, the author also includes real stories and helpful advice from people who have already experienced their move abroad. All in all, it’s a great resource for anyone contemplating such a massive decision
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book for review.
Good information and lots to think about for anyone considering moving out of the country. Makes it seem much less overwhelming!

I'll start by saying I really did enjoy this, although the angle was very much from an American point of view. It's possibly more pointed in that direction so it would be particularly relevant to the American market but there were some really good ideas and thoughts presented that made me think
Recommended for research if looking to move abroad and don't know where to start
