Eh. Meh. Boring. Sadly.
It was not as enjoyable and fun as i had hoped...it just did not catch my interest.

A fantastic lesbian story. From the start, I was sucked into the story. And omg it was a great ride, perfectly illustrating the perils of being a gay young adult in a small town.
Well worth a read.

This book was trash. The word "Queer" to describe lesbians, and mentioned countless times through out the book was just tastelees. Being apart of the LGBT-Q community it's offensive. I honestly didn't even finish reading. DNR

The storyline was good for this book, but the author's language to describe the lesbian characters as "queer" felt insulting to me, as I know many of my friends do not like that term. I think I would have enjoyed the book more had I not felt like my friends were being victimized with the language.

Stray is a well written book with a tough language for LGBTQ community. Topics those of us in the community we face all year long, so perhaps we hate reading it in books. As reviewers we don't have to like all the characters, but I did like a few. Well written and good storyline.

Life in a small town is not always idealic.

Lorraine's mama is a huge, high maintenance personality who is competive, manipulative, an amazing cook who means we'll.

Lorraine's dad is mild mannered and lives in the shadow of his wife. But his strength is there when it counts.

Lorraine's nephew, Little Man, is the center of her universe .

Lorraine wants to be a vet and trains with the local womanizing vet.

A full, hectic life is derailed when Lorraine's girlfriend becomes unavailable, her brother in law becomes romantically involved, her mama brings home a young cosmetology student to stay in the spare bedroom and a vicious attack makes everyone examine their beliefs, dreams and ambitions.

I hope Lorraine's story has a sequel!

I’m not really sure where or how to begin this review. I was really interested in this book as there are not many mainstream books that feature lesbians in a “normal every day” way. While I enjoyed the story the language used incensed me. The word “queer” was used all through the book and as a lesbian I am disgusted with that word being used in this day and age. This clouded any review I could possibly write on this book. It is just downright discriminatory and offensive!
