I have loved Christine Feehan's Torpedo Ink series for so long and could not wait for Ice's book. I was obsessed with his obsession with Soleil from the beginning and loved that she was his gamechanger. This novel was sexy as heck and full of delicious banter. I loved their chemistry and connection and was engrossed from the first page.
I enjoyed Ice and Soleil's camaraderie and banter right away and loved Soleil's connection with the rest of Torpedo Ink. I did feel like she was a little too passive and would have liked to see more of a spark from her. I look forward to Lana's book as I am more and more intrigued by her and Pierce. 4 stars! ~Ratula
I do adore Christine Feehan books - though this series I really didn't want to enjoy - I'm not much into motorcycle clubs and bad guys but she just sucks you into the story and you love the characters. The Torpedo Ink stories have done that to me. Cant wait for the next one.
3 stars!

This series is the first intro to Christine Feehan and so far I'm liking her writing. Because it is my first series with her and I believe this is a spin off series at times I feel lost. She does a good job trying to keep you in the loop but there is always that back of mind feeling that I'm missing something important.
This series is around a group of individuals who were once tortured with unthinkable acts and had to do many things just to survive but those acts have also developed them into men and women who are assassins and deeply broken. Together they are family and loyal but one by one they are finding love and getting a piece of themselves back again.
This time around this story revolves around Ice. For the most part I did like this story but at times it verged on more sex than substance during the story. Don't get me wrong the sex scenes were hot but I wanted more from them then just sex. Don't get me wrong I understood why sex was Ice's vice and his way to show emotion but I was still left wanting more from them to truly feel their connection.
Even though I was left wanting more I'm still hooked with this series and want all these broken men and women to find a sliver of happiness in their dark world.
Soleil knows that many are around her because of her money. So when a hand is reached out to keep her safe can she trust it?
Vendetta Road is third in Christine Feehan’s Torpedo Ink series. I love returning to this world and Ms. Feehan decided it was Ice’s turn to find love. I loved that both Ice and Soleil thought they were playing each other. It tickled me to see someone see the good in Ice and want the best for him. I loved how Soleil fought to protect Ice and his family even as she expected to die.
I love that Ms. Feehan gave Ice someone who fit his needs so well. Ice doesn’t see much good in himself. He has done things he is in no way proud of. He has done things to protect his family. He needs things he isn’t sure a woman can accept. But then he meets Soleil. Soleil gives him something he never expected to find. She needs what Ice provides and sees nothing but good in him.
I loved that Ms. Feehan continues to show the strong sense of family each man and woman has. I loved how they extended the devotion to Soleil. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Ice through Soleil’s eyes as she and Ice navigate their relationship. I loved this addition to Ms. Feehan’s Torpedo Ink series and look forward to where she will take us next.
I have been a fan of Christine Feehan for years. Nearly every single series that she writes is amazing and so intricately done. I've also read every single Torpedo Ink book she's put out and I have to say I'm disappointed in this one.
I will preface this by saying I didn't finish this book. I got to 57% and just had to give it up. The storyline isn't there and every single scene has some type of sexual situation in it and not for the greater of the book as a whole...it's just thrown in randomly. I understand that these characters are sexual in nature and have a very, unbelievably tragic past, but even the connection between the two main characters was absent. Their official meeting gave me the creeps on how it all played out. I see that they were both trying to do "this" but man oh man it made me nauseous for many reasons but here's two: 1. Soleil's guardian just died...like a month ago and she literally just fled an abusive situation where she found out that he didn't just die but was murdered and now they're planning on murdering her. You would think that since she's still grieving, just got the crap beat out of her, and found out her life is in danger that she'd be traumatized but no. She runs away and finds herself in Ice's lap, drinking so much alcohol, and getting it on with him even though she met him 2.5 seconds ago. I get sexual chemistry and that Feehan is a whirlwind of an author when it comes to it. Like I said, I'm a huge fan of her and I've read the other two books in this series, but this was just a little too much. 80% of what I read was sex and it would have been okay if there was even a little bit of an emotional connection between the main characters. There was none. Period.
Ice was repetitive at best. I didn't get the "it" moment when he fell for her. He just saw her, physically reacted to her, and decided to keep her. I desperately wanted more from this character. I wanted to really see the ins and outs of him but all I got was a washed up porn star.
The plot? What plot? I loved the opening scenes and it really pulled me in. I love watching the group work together to try and save others from a life that they had, but I just couldn't get past the main characters. I'm so very disappointed in this book. I expected steamy scenes, taboo situations, and lots of action (in and out of bed) but I can't get behind this type of "romance" because there wasn't an emotional connection for me at all.
Another winning book from Christine Feehan. I love this series and can hardly wait for the next one to be published. I want to give it more than five stars!!!
ARC provided by Netgalley. I read the first two so I knew I was in for some crazy, public sex scenes but this was just too much.
Set in Vegas, the heroine is just so ditsy. She escapes her homicidal, abusive fiancé and flees to the streets of Vegas. She stumbles into a biker bar and within 5 seconds she’s in Ice’s lap, their having drinks and he is already telling everyone she is his. Forgetting the evil fiancé chasing her she ends up spending the night with the gang and Ice drinking and playing games and before the night is over they are having sex in shop windows and getting married. Ice and his friends quickly kill her fiancé and everyone he works with and that’s it.
Barely any plot, a ditsy heroine with no personality, a possessive alpha male hero who doesn’t mind letting everyone watch them have sex. I’m over this series. It’s sexy but it’s also ridiculous.
Classic Feehan! Thrilling plot, fully realized characters and sizzling sexy scenes. WARNING; you might find yourself reading this in one sitting. Soleil is an heiress, the mark of a ring of criminals stalking rich women and killing them for their money. She is able to escape - directly into the hands of Ice, a handsome, lethal and psychic biker. He wants Soleil for his own and won’t hesitate to use his band of brothers to protect and avenge her. Graphic sex and violence with mentions of past sexual abuse.
I would highly recommend to patrons with the above caveat.
Christine Feehan is my favorite author and books like Vendetta Road is one of the reasons why.
This is my favorite of the Torpedo Ink series so far. It is the story of Ice and Soleil. Like all the Torpedo Ink books it is gritty and sometimes very violent. However, reading how the love story between these two characters unfolds takes the edge off the sometimes hard to read moments.
The stories of these men and women get better with every book. With each novel in the series, the character development of each of the club members is shown to the reader a bit more with each book. I really do like each of them for their own unique personalities. Being able to show glimpses of the other members personalities in each book, making the reader want to learn more about them is a tribute to how well the author writes.
This is a book I couldn't put down, I am going to read it again! And again.... I really like Ice, he's much more romantic than I thought he'd ever be ... and the other members have made me laugh out loud at times. Can't wait for the next one! I wish they were released sooner! Thanks Christine for another wild ride!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this book!!
In the newest installment of the Torpedo Ink series by Christine Feehan. I have really been in love with this series and seeing the connection with this series with two of her other series, its been pretty exciting and of course I just love a great motorcycle club set up and Christine Feehan has done a beautiful job in writing these books. Now this book Vendetta Road was a bit different than the previous books but in the end did slowly work for me. It might not work for everyone though so just fair warning.
Vendetta Road begins with our hero Ice who is out on a run with his brothers to follow a lead on a young boy who has been sexually abused but on his way to tracking the key players he stumbles across a young woman, who is so not his type —-the “girl next door” beautiful, sweet and has class. But he has a mission to complete and never expected to see the woman who has made him feel more in one look than any other woman ever has. Soleil is a woman who has almost always lived a lonely life. Her parents had wealth and when they passed she inherited everything. But now she is engaged, but her fiancée is proving to be difficult, controllingand a bit abusive and has no desire to marry him. But wonders how she could get away from him when she meets up with a woman “Lena” who offers her phone number and help if she ever needs it. When Soleil’s fiancée beats her and she overhears him in a phone conversation with the intent of killing her once he gains access to her wealth, she runs away and finds herself in a bar and meets Ice. Both Ice and Soleil can feel the sexual chemistry between them and both ironically realize they need each other. And even though mentally they think alike in how they acquire each other and end up married, they also want to do everything to make this work despite the danger that Soleil’s ex fiancée is bringing on the Torpedo Ink’s doorstep.
This BOOK was just intense and crazy at times, but with typical Christine Feehan delight….you fall in love with it. Now this is not the book I would recommend if you have never read this author before. But if you love her writing style especially in how she writes her alpha males and type of romance she delivers...than this book is definitely going to win your heart. She has done a delightful job in doing these more contemporary style romances. Now there is a small paranormal element, but its pretty light. It’s much closer to Contemporary/Romantic Suspense in my book with some darker elements at times. But I wouldn’t categorize it as a dark romance either.
Now the beginning of the story was a bit off putting and I wasn’t sure if I was on board with it completely. Both Ice and Soleil once they meet in the bar, both as it turns out plan on getting the other drunk to coerce the other into marriage. So yes this set up where they actually are using each other (even though there is a obvious liking and sexual attraction between them) BUT what I did like is that they are both doing it. So that did help but it was still an element in the beginning of their relationship I really struggled with at times What we do see is the way they really do like each other though, and the sense of family that Soleil is introduced to. Their romance isn’t the most conventional of beginning but what we do see happen with them is that sense of true connection and how they build it together throughout the story. Of course we get plenty of intense and thrilling moments with the dangers that come across the Torpedo Ink Club BUT we see the essence of this story is focused solely around Ice and Soleil and the intimate bond that forms between them.
Vendetta Road is a compelling installment that will have your heart beat faster, tingles explode all over your body and a swoon worth romance to delight in you every way!!
I was really looking forward to this book however I felt it was really flat. There was hardly any real story, the main character Soliel had no character and Ice just kept repeating himself. The majority of the book was sex and while I don’t have a problem with that when over 80% of the book is sex scenes it is kind of ridiculous. I was skipping pages when the sex scenes lasted for more than a single chapter. There was very little of the actual story and the entire resolution for the whole book was in just a few pages. Over all the only thing I can really say is I am disappointed.
I loved Vendetta Road! I loved Soleil and Ice. She is unlike any heroine I’ve seen in a long time. I love her mixture of confidence, uncertainty, and sense of adventure. I love how Ice melts (or rather grows hard;) when he sees her. The way they grow together is wonderful.
It can be a tough read as they are hunting pedophiles and the men’s memories.
As much as I loved the characters I missed some of the at-the-edge-of-your-seat action. The brothers were successful in their pursuit, but lacked a little of tracking down of leads, of unraveling the mystery.
Still another fabulous read and I see a re-read of the other books in my future.
TW rape, assault, torture-not fully on the page but there, physical abuse on the page
I loved getting to see Ice and learn his background and watch him fall for Soleil, but so much of the book just feels like the same story as the last two. The way the guys talk to their women is identical and it’s frustrating to not see changes. Each one is an “untold realization that this man is the worst off” and on and on. Time for a new plot in the relationship parts.
On a mission for his MC, Torpedo Ink, Ice sees Soleil and he's dumbstruck. Nicknamed Ice because he is cold as ice, he can't believe he's having actual feelings for someone he's never met. Part of a group of children trained as assassins and brutally tortured, along with the other members of the MC, Ice has had to learn to feel nothing. Soleil, an orphan since she was very young, is an heiress but she's been alone most of her life. When evil men try to hurt her she turns to the MC and Ice where she finally finds a family. If you like MC romance, you'll enjoy Vendetta Road!
I think if you have been reading this series, then you will be getting exactly what you think you will be getting: a lot of very hot sex with a big side helping of vigilante justice. I have very complicated feelings about my own love of these books, but that's another story. If you like Christine Feehan and have read her other books, I'm sure you will enjoy this one.
I guess I will say this, in terms of characters, there's always a lot of magical healing in her books, just **seeing** the right partner will fix you right up. But, I did appreciate that for both Soleil and Ice, there was a lot of effort to show them consciously deciding to make better choices to be the kind of person they wanted to be.
One thing I did not like as much-- there's a lot of exhibitionism in this book (which was super hot, that wasn't the problem), and then Ice starts to worry that he is accidentally putting Soleil in danger by exposing her to other people. This seems like a reasonable concern and I liked that he took steps to protect her while they could still have the sex life they wanted. BUT, at one point, he thinks of a man that's been watching them as a "pervert." And it just annoyed me. You can't think it's sexy when he's watching and then a pervert when it's over. The man was clearly menacing and fixated, which is worth worrying about! This is a very minor thing in the grand scheme of things, but I do think that realization that was important to Ice could have been more of a self-realization (maybe this is a bad idea, I don't know who these watcher are, etc) than of blaming other people.
