I loved the back and forth between the child and the grandfather. The simplicity of the conversation was beautiful and so easy to understand. This topic of loss is such a tough one for children and their parents but books like this help.
I loved that they’d go back and forth with questions and answers. It was sweet, simple and sad.
Oh, this one came at just the right moment for me. I'm losing a loved one and it's making me hurt like mad. This little story was sort of comforting. I'm a not young by any definition of the word either, and have had lots of discussions about death, dying, and what comes next my whole life. I think this book will be a good one for young children experiencing death for the first time. (Note to parents: please don't protect your children from death or funerals; it's all part of life and they need to learn that! Death, as a topic, should never be taboo.). Anyway, I also like the discussion at the end of the book for parents on how to use the book. I think adults need this book as their children these days. This book should be a conversation starter for families. pass on your beliefs or expose your children others' beliefs. Good read.
