A family looking for a treasure that had been taken by a famous pirate.
An unexpected adventure on the high seas. Filled with the search for old hidden treasure, kidnapped siblings, a villinous pirate and a sigh worthy Captain whose ship is shanghied. Captain Conal O'Brien never expected his ship to be taken over by a group of people who try to appear as pirates, but it is apparent they are not.
Stevie Sauvage and her family are desperate to get back her twin eight year old siblings who were ta
ken by a villinous pirate name Gampo. He demands they bring him a ship in order for him to release the twins and leaves them with one of his men to make the journey to Jamaica.
Of course Stevie and Conal are attracted but he doesn't know what they need his ship for at first.
The story flowed really well and kept my attention from the first. What's not to like about a pirate story? I really enjoyed this one!
For some reason, this book is not allowing me to turn on Kindle Notes and Highlights. If I could, you would see MANY typos (from words left out to grammar) in this book which is quite frustrating for an edited book, e.g. "I have finally met a worthy in this den of pirates, ..." "Either way, he was taking back his what was his." too many to list
While this book "claims" to be a clean read, apparently that simply means they removed a couple of steamy scene details, but then later referred to them as if they actually happened. Where, we (the reader) believe the couple simply shared a passionate kiss, later the story tells us they slept together at the first opportunity! "He'd probably think she was looking for him to bed her again, which she was definitely not. She'd been weak last time." Very disappointing.
I did not like how quickly Stevie shifted her anger from the villian, Gampo, to her hero, Conal. It was not realistic. I enjoyed Drago and his relationship with the children.
Positive element: Both main characters pray to God.
The storyline was ok, but I would not recommend it. If you are looking for clean pirate stories I would probably reach for MaryLu Tyndall.
