Thayer’s book always make me book a flight to Boston and take a ferry to Nantucket in the summer. This book made me want to spend Christmas in Nantucket!
I really like Nancy Thayer, but for some reason cannot get into her Christmas books. Maybe they aren't in depth enough for me. Cute little Christmas love story.
It’s Christmas time on Nantucket! This was a super sweet and magical holiday read. The books plot revolves around Christina’s toy shop and the friends she meets while running her business. Let it Snow is a Christmas love story all about happy endings and new relationships. Get into the holiday spirit and add Nancy Thayer’s latest to your reading list!
Nancy Thayer is one of our best Rom-com novelists
I always look forward to her books
The book takes place during Christmas.
Romance is in the air and we find ourselves rooting for Christina to find love
There are the usual problems on the way, but love is in the air
A very enjoyable book
This is a wonderful Christmas book! You will fall in love with Wink! Come visit Nantucket and enjoy all the fun and excitement. Thank you Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine Ballantine Books via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Let It Snow features four friends and business owners, who fondly refer to themselves as the Shedders. Their shops are in old sheds on the wharf on Nantucket. It's prime real estate, but without any amenities. Christina is a native islander who thrives on the Christmas spirit. She meets a precocious kid named Wink and the adventure begins. Nancy Theyer captures the magic of the holiday season and the accompanying emotions. The happy ending that follows is the best part of reading her books because all always turns out well.
Let it Snow is a winter treat! Nancy Thayer, who I look to for steamy summer reads, is able to bring warmth and comfort with her latest romantic drama. Watch love unfold during the busting holiday season. Fall in love with the cast of characters and Nantucket holiday spirit. The story will stay with you beyond the last chapter. 4 stars.
A most enchanting and delightful story taking place in Nantucket in winter. Full of friendships, trusting others and sharing of a very special holiday all yields to a wonderful story and most enjoyable title. Throw in a little love and a perfect book for not only the holiday season--but for always. Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to read this title prior to publication---I just loved it!!!
I love Nancy Thayer- first off. What I really liked about this newest book was that it was set in Winter in Nantucket. It was really fun to imagine the little town and who shows up through the Christmas Season. The ending was great and the twists and turns to get there were definitely worth this read!
This is a fun little Christmas read set in Nantucket. Christina owns a little shop and has crowds, and a little shoplifter, during the holiday shopping season. New relationships are always a possibility and while this story may be a little predictable, it was a nice read.
“Let it Snow” was a nice escape from everyday life. The characters came to life before me and I felt like I was there in Nantucket with them. A sweet romance and an easy read.
This is a holiday romance set in Nantucket. The descriptions of the town make you feel like you are there. The characters are charming and the story has a predictable happy ending. What more can you ask of a Christmas romance? I enjoyed this book and look forward to more by this author. Thank you to net galley for a copy.
Let it Snow is a sweet holiday romance. The storyline focuses primarily on the romance of Christina, a year-round resident of Nantucket, and Andy, a member of a wealthy family who is visiting his father who is now a year-round resident.
Christina and Andy meet through Andy’s precocious young niece Wink, who is struggling with her parents’ ongoing divorce. Christina has taken Wink under her wing, allowing her to “work” with Christina at her toy store. Andy is interested in becoming a “local” also, but is fighting the resistance of his father, a rather domineering and curmudgeonly patriarch.
Andy’s father recently purchased the buildings which house the buildings that Christina and her neighboring business owners rent for their shops. His father’s decision to significantly increase their rent, has created some difficulties for Andy and Christina.
As with most holiday romances, a resolution is eventually reached. While a HEA ensues, the romance between Christina and Andy seems to progress much too quickly to be believed, and while references to their intense chemistry are frequently mentioned, it really doesn’t come through to readers. This is a lovely story, but it may need a bit more work before being published.
Nancy Thayer's latest book, Let It Snow was a wonderful fun read. I couldn't have asked for more.
Nancy has such an ability for making a setting come to life. Christmas in Nantucket sounds like a perfect place to spend the holidays. Christina, a Toy store owner, is stocking her shelves and getting ready for the Christmas rush. She catches a precious nine year old Wink, trying to steal a sticker book. Instead of calling her parents or the authorities she gives the girl a job so she can pay for the stickers. After Wink has worked for her for several days, Christina learns Wink's grandfather is a multi-millionaire. There are several other characters that you will fall in love with. I found myself with tears in my eyes one minute and laughing out loud the next. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Random House Publishing through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Such a warm, heartfelt Christmas story. Nancy Thayer does not disappoint in this novel and you wont be able to put it down! I will definitely recommend to my patrons.
Let It Snow is a fantastic Christmas story. Loved the plot and the characters. I always enjoy this author’s books and wasn’t disappointed. If you enjoy Christmas romance stories you will enjoy this book. My thanks to the publisher for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.
I enjoy Nancy Thayer’s books, Let It Snow is no exception. I read this book in one evening. This story was gift-wrapped neatly with a bow on top, the perfect holiday novel with a cup of hot cocoa.
Christina is the owner of a small toy shop, and preparing for the holidays. When the local shop-owners find out their rents will be raised, they come together to try to save their stores. Christina also finds romance, and a special friendship. Let It Snow is the perfect holiday read. It is sweet, warm hearted and cozy just perfect for the upcoming holiday season.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for an advance copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
I always enjoy all of Nancy Thayer’s books for the idyllic Nantucket setting, and appreciate the few that are set in the wintertime as a change of pace from the typical summertime setting. “Let It Snow” is the quintessential Hallmark Christmas Movie-esque story gift-wrapped neatly in a jolly, holiday novel. The novel follows Christina, the owner of a small toy shop, preparing for the holidays. When Christina and her local shop-owner friends find out their rent will be raised significantly in the upcoming year, they come together to try to save their stores. Along the way, Christina also finds romance, and a special friendship with a young girl, Wink. The book has the perfect blend of love, friendship, hardships, and Christmas traditions. “Let It Snow” is not a deep, thought-provoking book, but it is sweet and perfect for the upcoming holiday season. I could have done without the “Inner Christina” thoughts, but overall the book was very enjoyable.
If you are looking for something extremely light and cheerful, then this is the book for you to get into the holiday spirit this fall! Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for an advance copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
Christmas time in a Nantucket toy store sound idyllic! When the rent on the building is raised, Christina Antonioni fears that the holidays will be less than merry because she doesn't see how she can keep the shop open, especially with shoplifters like Wink :-)
I don't want to give much away, because the story is so readable and enjoyable, readers shouldn't need much convincing. Great characters and a holiday atmosphere makes this Nantucket Christmas story by Thayer a win!
Thanks to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for the ARC of this book.
Nancy Thayer does it again with a warm, cheerful holiday tale set in Nantucket. I love reading books set during Christmas, and this one did not disappoint. It was perfectly predictable and cheesy in all the right places. You will love all of the characters and find yourself rooting for them the entire way.
