Sadly this was just meh.
i was bored, and just really trying to find something to like...but nope.
So i give it 2 stars.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley..
This was my first book by this author.
Avery and James were so relatable. Their story is such a fun one. The chemistry is fabulous. The book is fabulous. Everythig about this was steamy, adorable and fun to read.
This book was mildly entertaining, just not all that great. I did not like the fake French accent premise that it started on. I was quite annoyed by how much the author referenced how hot it was. (Okay, it's summer, we get it!) There were a lot of things that seemed to be built up... and then just never followed through on. Along with others that were kind of just thrown in there. All-in-all it made for a rather disjointed ride. And I really didn't get why Avery was so upset about James reading her blog; it wasn't like he snuck into her room and read her diary. Anyway, it was a nice enough story, the main characters were usually fairly likeable, and they eventually got their happily-ever-after, so I guess all's well that ends well.
Wow what a fun read. Playing a sex kitten on her blog is easy but being one in real life not so much. Avery is more of a nerdy girl next door. And when a hunk moves in next door it gives her all kinds of fantasies. It’s a wild ride of a summer full of steam and laughs. I recommend this one. Thanks NetGalley.
Avery is dared to pretend she’s French whilst out with her friends and finds herself talking to hunky James. They really hit it off and he is disappointed when she leaves without getting her number. But things start looking up when he finds that he is her new neighbour. Avery mistakenly sends out the link to her blog where she discusses her fantasies about James, which leads him to try to fulfil them. Fun story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really like Avery and James in this story. I thought the book was well written with a few minor grammar errors, but it was an ARC so that is to be expected. I thought Avery and James both were well developed and I thought that their story was also very well developed. I liked the drama in the story and I liked Avery's best friend Morgan. I didn't care for either of their parents.. I did want more. You now like a peek into the future. Did they get an HEA or was it only a HFN? Did they combine apartments? Who set the fire.
About what you would expect from a book with a title like, "Confessions of a Sex Kitten." Not bad, but not all for me.
Avery's boyfriend broke up with her and had been cheating on her. Telling her it was her fault and made it seem she wasn't good enough for sex. So she goes on the town with friends and pretends to be someone that she isn't. She ends up meeting a guy but doesn't think she will see him again. Come to find out he ends up being her new neighbor.
Avery also has a blog in which no one knows who she really is and she talks about men, dating and sex. On accident James, her new neighbor, finds out about the blog and starts doing things that he knows she will like. There is a lot of sparks between them but she has a wall up because of her ex. James tries to break through it.
These 2 made me smile and laugh while reading and I couldn't put it down. Both of them seem to have mothers and a father who don't seem to be happy for them and are snooty. Avery's dad is fun though and I would have liked to see more between Avery and him.
Confessions of a Sex Kitten was just as I expected. It's a fun fast read that's good when you want something light and easy. I needed a break from heavy subjects, and this story was perfect. Sexy, flirty, fun and just a bit ridiculous! Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Avery writes a blog to release her inner sex kitten. But being that girl in her daily life is a struggle. James moves to NYC to be closer to her family and focus on his career. They are neighbors and James can't seem to stay away from Avery, especially after stumbling upon her blog. The attraction between them is obvious.
I enjoyed this quick and sexy read. The family dynamics were nice to see them work their way through. Good story with great characters. Definitely worth the read.
Ohhh hot hot hot! Great book
This author knows how to draw you in and make you laugh, make you cry! I loved that they were neighbors
I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. this was the first book I have read by this author and overall it was a good book. however, the ending was weak. Avery was cheated on by her boyfriend and now writes a blog to bring out her inner sex kitten. James has just moved in next door and her sex kitten persona is working for him. the conflict felt forced in and the resolution made me dislike both characters. Avery for evening weak and James for honestly being kind of an ass. but again overall a good novel.
This whole book was kind of meh to me. There was nothing special about it and the writing was just ok. The ending was just ok for me as well. Thank you to netgalley for the arc.
This was a cute quick story. Enjoyed all the characters and the story was good.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance read, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
How do you survive snarky family remarks, burning buildings, and the heat of a typical New York summer? Start a secret blog called Confessions of a Sex Kitten even though it’s complete fantasy because you are NOT a sex kitten and then have most of the blog posts star your next door neighbor-who you surprisingly become friends with. To be honest, I was a little wary in the beginning because it’s told in 3rd person (I prefer 1st person POV) but I quickly got into the story. The immediate chemistry between Avery and James was palpable and I was rooting for them the entire time. Avery was such a sweet girl, a tad lacking in self-confidence which was understandable given her family. James was a good guy who kept one “little” secret from Avery, which threatened their entire relationship. This was a quick read...humorous, sweet and very steamy. I received an ARC from #netgalley in exhange for my honest opinion.
A sweet romantic comedy. The characters are engaging. Their fumbling road to romance is both funny and sexy. It's a fast paced and fun read. This is my first book by the author but won't be my last.
