This was a fast read and certainly a page-turner! Sienna has been living in England since going through a very traumatic experience in college—she literally fell on a murdered girl’s body wearing the same exact white parka Sienna had on. Sienna never forgot the blood on the white parka. Her dad decided it would be best if she lived in England especially after she had dealt with her mother’s mental illness her whole life and was now questioning her own sanity.
Sienna returns to reclaim her life and rebuild the bond with her mother. Only her mom is still having paranoid delusions that someone is watching and is out to hurt Sienna. Can she get her mom the proper help or could her mom actually be right?

I hadn’t read Erica Spindler in a few years! This story was even better than I remembered her stories to be! Throughout the story you’re going back and forth about whodunnit. It’s never quite who you thought. I did guess this one correct but it wasn’t until right before the big reveal. I also like that all loose ends are tied and you get a complete ending (pet peeve lol).

I received an advanced review copy and the opinions in this review are mine alone.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

This book drew me in and had me turning the page. Everyone seemed to be a suspect, but didn't guess it correctly. I had chills once the discovery was made! Loved it!

I love stories about dysfunctional mothers and daughters. This book was very unputdownable and I really enjoyed the characters, even the unlikable ones. The twist was great.

Sienna came across a girl that was murdered and had on the same jacket as her on a wintery night. Sienna thought maybe it was actually supposed to be her. Her dad had her move to England and one day she comes back to have some closure but things come back from her past and is she strong enough to deal with them. There was a twist that I should have seen coming but didn't. It was a good book. I like this author would recommend this book.

Enjoyable, well paced story, but a kinda predictable and all-too-neat ending.Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and Erica Spindler for an Arc to read and review.

Meh - just okay. I listened to this in audio format and all the male character voices were the same over the top male exaggerated voice attempts which was distracting. I slogged through this one and wasn't interested in picking back up from when I stopped as the story seemed to drag and and there were too many references to a crazy mother and an "am I delusional" main character. Although, the story did keep me intrigued enough to finish and figure out the whodunnit. When you finally find out, the ending was over the top and unrealistic.

The Look-Alike by Erica Spindler is a psychological drama read. This one is fast paced and does deal with a character with mental illness. The story starts with a prologue from ten years before then jumps to the present moving around some in time.

Ten years before Sienna Scott had been walking home from studying at college when she stumbled across the victim of a brutal murder. Sienna could not get that night out of her mind so she left home and spent the next ten years in London trying to forget that night.

Now Sienna has returned home to help care for her mother who is struggling with mental illness. Sienna’s mother lives in fear that someone is going to harm her or her family which only brings that brutal night ten years ago back into Sienna’s mind. Sienna finds out that the case was never solved and now it back open which only leads to Sienna’s own paranoia.

As someone who has goals to read all the books I can get my hands on I love nothing more than fast paced books that seem like I fly right through them in the blink of an eye which was the case here. It didn’t take long to become engrossed in The Look-Alike and the pages began to fly by right after. There were also plenty of twists and turns along the way to hold my attention. I would definitely read this author again after finishing.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

I am sorry for not reviewing fully but I don’t have the time to read this at the moment. I believe that it wouldn't benefit you as a publisher or your book if I only skimmed it and wrote a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for not fully reviewing!

This was fast paced and thrilling! Just when I felt I knew where the story was going, more often than not I was wrong. This was well-written and I plan on checking out more of Erica Spindler's books in the future.

When Sienna Scott discovers the body of a murdered young woman on her college campus, it changes the trajectory of her life. She moves to Italy and becomes a chef. When she returns home 10 years later, she finds that much has changed, yet much remains the same. The murder was never solved, and Sienna still can't shake the suspicion that she might have actually been the killer's intended target. But her mother has long suffered from paranoid delusions and she's not entirely convinced that she isn't suffering from the same issue - that history makes it difficult for Sienna to trust her own observations or her mother's. This psychological thriller gives us several suspects, and I bounced between them almost all the way through the book. It was well-paced and definitely held my interest throughout. It's the first book I've read from Erica Spindler, but it definitely left me interested in reading more.

Sienna Scott grew up in the dark shadow of her mother’s paranoid delusions. Now, she's returned home to confront her past and the unsolved murder that altered the course of her life.

This book has a lot of twists and turns in it. Sienna stumbles upon a dead body during a snowstorm. She begins to question if it should have been her after realizing she and the victim had the same coat and it was the same path she took late every Wed. Night. Worried that she would delve into paranoid delusions like her mother her father sent her away. Now she is back and the past murder investigation has been reopened.

Sienna is obsessed with this murder and it affects all aspects of her life. Was it supposed to be her? Is she starting to have paranoid delusions or is she on the right track. Good read. Good story.

The Look-Alike is an excellent, well-paced thriller that is filled with suspense and well defined characters. The fast driven plot keeps the reader entertained and makes it difficult to put the book down. I definitely recommend this novel. Very well written!

This was high on suspense but a bit predictable. I thought that the handling of the mother’s mental illness was done in a sensitive yet truthful manner.

I really enjoyed this psychological thriller where a young woman is unsure of whether or not she was the intended victim of a crime committed 10 years ago. Her mother suffers from severe anxiety attacks and visions of things that aren't really there, but is her mother telling the truth when she says "It should have been you."? The woman returns from a time away with relatives in England to her home town, with hopes of bridging fences with her mother and brother. But what is that white van that keeps going through her neighborhood? And who is the hot neighbor across the street? This book kept me guessing right up to the end.

I received an e-ARC of this book by the author and publishing via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.
