Wow...that book was a pleasant surprise to me. The pages kept turning, and I craved more and more of the story. Although this saga is book three I seriously enjoyed the suspense in it and how the plot developed.
I must read more books by this author!!!
Diamond (no last name) was eight today. She lived with her mother in a motel. The only thing she wanted was for the woman to die and leave her mom alone. Her mom died that day. The woman came to her. She had been adopted into a military family and could defend herself. She was now called JD Wolfe and she looked for lost and endangered children. Even the police trusted her and sent her cases.
Sergeant First Class Logan Oakes had eighteen missions. He went on another, felt it was too quiet, it was beginning to feel bad, very bad. The right side of his body had been burned and he thought he was a monster. He was ugly, lived in a tent in the woods with the rest of the animals.
I don't usually read mystery novels but boy was this one a goodie. It was exciting, with lots of action and not truly knowing what is going on till just before the end when all is explained to you. I read until four in the morning, I had to know what was happening. The main characters were great. They were both misfits but somehow they fit. Even the secondary characters were interesting. I give my highest recommendation for this wonderful novel.
I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
