This is the third book by Leslie North that I have read and it is not going to be the last one. Scout worked as foreman for Stella's grandfather prior to his death. Stella travels the world helping third world farmers learn how to improve their farming practices, and while she assumes she will inherit her grandfather's farm, she agrees to sell it to Scout so that she can continue her non-profit work. She and Scout have a one night stand which results in her pregnancy. Her grandfather's will requires that she live on the farm for a year which gives Stella and Scout time to know each other and work out how to be parents together - neither of which are straight forward.
My favorite part of the book was watching the process Scout and Stella each went through as they learned how to be partners. Stella's upbringing was unconventionaldid not so she doesn't know how to share responsibilities with anyone else. Scout isn't good at communicating what he is thinking. Luckily their friends and family help them find the way to a good partnership.
Although it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. If you like small town romances, this would be a good book for you!
I received a free copy of the book from NetGalley and I am reviewing it honestly.
Scout Beckett is the youngest of the Beckett brothers and has always wanted to forge his own path, choosing to build up an ailing dairy farm in the hope of buying it when his boss George retires. However, he is shocked to find out the terms of George’s will which will involve his granddaughter, Stella being much more involved than he expected. Stella’s life and career is abroad and can’t visualise it being any other way, even with an unexpected baby on the way. It seems that there’s no way that they will see eye to eye over anything but they have to make things work somehow. Enjoyable addition to the series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wrangling His Pregnant Cowgirl, is about 2 strong willed individuals. Who believe that they are fine staying single. It was fun seeing them come to a compromise.
Very good book. It was a full well developed story. You will fall in love with the main characters in here. Definitely one to put on you want to read list.
This third Beckett Brother book brings Scout and Stella together along with resulting surprise. Always enjoy Cowboys and good tales.
