A sweet, very short book, filled with colorful, engaging illustrations. The eVersion layout appeared to have short horizontal panels, each featuring a different aspect of praise and thanksgiving. “Thank you for my town,” Thank you that Jesus is my friend,” “Thank you for music,” Thank you for today,” and so forth. Very helpful for teaching little ones to thank God for everything. The eVersion was difficult to read because of orientation. When we turned the reader so we could see the panels correctly, they turned 90 degrees in the wrong direction (again). Oh well. Still cute.
Was hoping for an enjoyable way to help children to participate in daily praise in a fun and enjoyable way. Unfortunately I did not find this book inspiring or enjoyable.
I received a free ARC ebook from NetGalley and I can honestly tell you it's a book worth buying for you and your children. It's an easy book chalk full of ready to recite praises. Early readers will be able to say these praises by themselves. And after awhile you will all know them by heart.
Filled with examples—from Mom and Dad to Jesus, from friends to all the different people around town—My Day-by-Day Praises teaches little ones to see the many blessings around them and to thank God for every one. Sweet, colorful illustrations combine with easy-to-understand praises to make this a perfect book for little ones.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Cute book to teach toddlers how to be thankful and to pray! The illustrations are fun and the praises are short and sweet. My 3 year old loved the both the pictures and praises.
This was a lovely little book and I thought that the images were wonderful.
They were warm and welcoming and I loved the bright tones that have been used.
The praises are perfect for little children, they are short and sweet and lovely to read.
It is 5 stars for me and would be great as a first praise book as it is full of things to be thankful for.
This is a cute little book that helps kids learn to pray. The illustrations are fun and engaging. The prayers are short enough that young children will become familiar with how to pray. The different things that the author is teaching them to Praise God for are relatable to young children. It is sure to keep their attention and raise them up in the way they should go! I would buy this and other books by this author as a gift for a young child.
I really loved this idea of praises instead of prayers. Prayers are still important, of course, but teaching kids to praise is such a wonderful thing and different in this culture. Like the prayer book by the same author, I did find the praises a little different too, but still worth the read. This book shows a good example for kids to learn how to praise on their own.
This is a very sweet book, focused on praying for and giving thanks for all sorts of situations and all different types of people. I think the art is appropriate and this is overall a great book.
I give this book a 4.5 stars (rounded up) because I feel like it just ends abruptly. There’s no ending. It would have been great to have even something small that ended the book smoothly, tying all the praises together. But that’s nit-picky. A child would love this and this book is great!
The prayers in this book are good examples for kids who are learning how to pray. It focuses on appreciating other people, including underappreciated people like retail employees. The illustrations were sweet and supplemented the prayers well. There was an appropriate text-to-illustration-white-space balance. I would recommend this to caregivers and parents with children who are 4-5 years old.
This is such a precious little book for toddlers! "My Day-by-Day Praises" has brightly colored and adorable illustrations, and it contains an important message of prayer and having a thankful and compassionate heart. This book really teaches children to count their blessings and that Jesus can be their best friend, in an incredibly cute way! I don't have children of my own yet, however if I were to have children, I would absolutely want to read this to them around preschool or kindergarten age.
A lovely toddler board book on what means to be thankful thru praising God. It is a great way to start the day with your toddler on the many ways God had has blessed you with your community, parents, and the care your toddler receives. It is beautifully illustrated and a book that is meant to be read again and again.
A Special Thank you to Harvest House Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
