“Tempted at Midnight” by this new author to this reader was just enjoyable. I’ve never read anything by Cheris Hodges and am lukewarm on wanting to read more. This story jumped right into sexual intimacy where I found it difficult in knowing if these characters will have a spark of romance.
Erik Jordan a womanizer and Sylvie Gates who has a problem opening up to love after being rejected by her boyfriend. The two have a lot of personal insecurities and go through the ups and downs of a relationship that neither wants to claim exists.
Although there are steamy parts of this story, some parts fell short. There were some areas of the story that I thought were undeveloped and could have been strengthened. In any case, the author did manage to keep my attention in the story and wanting to know the outcome.
Thanks very much to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
2-Stars
In Tempted at Midnight, we are introduced to Sylvie Gates and Erik Jordan who are alike, but yet different. Both are dedicated to their careers, but are not looking for a relationship. What starts out as a simple "relationship" turns into so much more. Sylvie is a woman who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after her dreams. Erik i s a brilliant man who is passionate about his career, but has no room for liars. Sylvie and Erik worlds collide and the starts are all out of aligned. Tempted at Midnight is full of love, loyalty, trust, and friendship. Ms. Hodges has done it again.
