The twists and turns made it impossible to put down, as I had to know what was going to happen to all of these characters. All of the characters feel genuine and relatable and put your emotions on one heck of a roller coaster ride. As you are reading, you will find yourself cheering for all of them, praying they can work out their problems and be happy once again. Three heartwarming and charming stories that will leave you smiling.

Just because AN AMISH SECOND CHRISTMAS is three novellas doesn’t mean you will feel cheated. Each story is just the perfect length to meet and care for each character. If you have never read any of these authors, this book would make a perfect introduction to the reader. Each story involves getting a second chance at love that is sure to pull at your heart strings. Forgiveness and love go hand in hand in all three stories. It was great to watch each couple as they found their way. Get comfortable in your favorite chair and be ready to be totally entertained by these three wonderful authors.

AN AMISH SECOND CHRISTMAS is without a doubt one of the best collection of novellas I’ve read in 2022 so far. I was instantly emotionally invested in all of the characters. All of these authors really know how to write about family drama, heartbreak, faith and forgiveness. I can not wait to read more stories by them. All three are among my favorite Amish fiction authors and these novellas are exactly why.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Kensington Publishing through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

An Amish Second Christmas is a collection of novellas, one each written by a different author with the main topic being an Amish second Christmas.

Second Christmas is the day after Christmas for the Amish. Christmas is a day to stay home with family celebrating the birth of Immanuel.
Second Christmas is a day to visit.

In these novellas it is also a day for second chances.

Hannah has left her parents' home to live her own life. They have spent too much time trying to control her and she has had enough. When a blaze put her in path of the firefighter, Hannah gets to thinking about a different objective. Can she learn to rein in her thoughts and parents? Can her parents learn to back off and let her make her own choices?

Maggie Lapp is too outspoken to be a good Amish woman. That is why Atley broke off their betrothal five years ago. Not that he didn't love her, but that he thought her outspokenness might destroy that love as a married couple. It seems to have worked for his brother and his wife, maybe they're just too different.

Rachel has bone cancer. Her mother worries for her. Her father wants her to have her own life. Can she handle the life she dreams of? Can she love someone who isn't even sure he wants to be Amish? Could he love her back?

All the novellas were heartwarming details that pulled at your Heartstrings. Highly recommend this collection to be read.

"She forced herself not to look at him again. She had already crossed a line she hadn't meant to cross. She had promised herself that she wouldn't joke with him anymore. Joking was only a hair away from flirting and flirting with Joseph Webber would be ridiculous, now. Preposterous. "

Excerpt from An Heirloom Christmas by Virginia Wise in An Second Amish Christmas collection.

From the back book cover:

" For The Amish, the day after Christmas is for family, feasting and exchanging simple gifts. And for three different couples, it will bring another chance for precious love.......

My Review

Who doesn't love a happy ending in a romance? I know I sure do.
This one is a collection of 3 novella length stories but it's not all good times. The want to be couples don't always have smooth sailing in their quest for romance. Uncertainty and just maybe a little jealousy find these couples praying to have a second chance at a romance with someone dear to them. Once an understanding comes to pass we see the true light of the couples shining and kindness and compassion brings on the happy times.
The perfect setting, the book is set at Christmas time as well so we get the happy feel good atmosphere from this as well. Highly recommend this to all readers of Amish fiction.

Their Second Chance: Hannah and Rob have both struggled with loss. Hannah had ended her relationship with Rob a few months back. After an unfortunate fire in her home she is face to face with him and not sure what to do with it. Being Amish she isn't sure she is ready to enter the Englisch world. Both are trying to figure out where this will go.
His Amish Angel: Maggie is a very outspoken Amish woman. After an fire in their barn. Her ex shows up to help . He has unintentionally given away a secret of hers and she is very upset about it. He discovers how much he still cares for her and she has to find a away to forgive him.
An Heirloom Christmas: Rachel is working on getting her life back after a battle with Cancer. Her parents hire Joseph to help her with her greenhouse. He is trying to find a way his way in the world without working on the family Dairy Farm. While working with Rachel he finds he isn't as interested in the Englisch world. Both are surprised at how much they have in common.
All of 3 novellas show how much life can change . Forgiveness and love go hand in hand in all 3. It was great to watch each couple as they found their way.

Three lovely couples get a second chance at love in this delightful collection of novellas written by some of the very best Amish storytellers today. Every romance should feature a handsome Englisch fireman to come to her rescue. In Their Second Chance Hannah realizes that she’s happier living away from her family in the Englisch world and that second chances are possible. His Amish Angel stars a more mature character named Maggie who is the happiest when she’s writing an advice column in the newspaper which is an unusual storyline that I found very appealing. Years ago Atley broke Maggies heart and now it’s his fault that the Bishop has forbidden Maggie the one thing she lives for. Can she make Atley see that giving advice from an Amish point of view is a wonderful gift? In the third novella, An Heirloom Christmas, we meet Rachel who loves the serenity of her greenhouse and her beloved plants until Joseph comes along and gives her big ideas. All of the characters are delightful, the stories are unusual and satisfying and there’s magic in the air just in time for Second Christmas. I read an early copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

Christmas is my most favorite time of the year. There is something about a heartwarming Christmas book that warms my soul. Perhaps it is the love and hope that filtrates everything, along with that special magical touch.

An Amish Second Christmas has its own magical touch. It is a collection of 3 three couples telling their own story of love and second chances. Each story is different and you will find yourself actually rooting for the characters in each.
This is a delightful, quick read that will leave your heart full of hope and warmth.

I received a copy of this book and was under no obligation to leave a review.

3 Novellas in one book will have you delighted.
Their Second Chance by Shelley Shepard Gray brings Hannah and Englisher back together after a near tragedy makes Hannah realize where her future lies. The Christmas season brings a change of heart for all.

His Amish Angel by Patricia Johns introduces us to Maggie and Atley. When Atley accidently reveals a secret it ruins Maggie's plans and puts her at odds with Atley. Will she be able to forgive him for revealing her secret and for leaving her years earlier.

An Heirloom Christmas by Virginia Wise introduces us to Rachel and Joseph. Working with Rachel in her greenhouse causes friction but will it grow into a knowledge of love for one another. Must read to find out. Delightful Christmas story. First story I have read by Virginia Wise and I am pleased.

All three of these stories are sweet and inspirational. These excellent Amish authors have put together interesting, well-written stories that revolve around the tradition of the Amish “Second Christmas”. Each story was just the right length for a collection like this . No storyline was rushed and each seemed complete at the end of the story. I was interested in each story, and I think these authors’ writing styles fit together very well. All three of the “leading ladies” had a compelling story and I was eager to cheer each one of them on to find their happiness on Second Christmas. I think my favorite was the story by Shelley Shepherd Gray. Her story had a different twist with both of the main characters, and I enjoyed that. This book gives the reader the perfect combination of Amish faith, family in heart-touching stories.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

As soon as I saw this collection of novellas on Netgalley, I immediately requested it. The cover is absolutely beautiful and it's never too early for me to read a Christmas book. Each of the three authors penned three well written and interesting stories that were thoroughly enjoyable.

I am a fan of both Ms. Gray and Ms. Johnson but Ms. Wise is a new to me author
and I thoroughly enjoyed her writing and will read more of her work. I didn't have a favorite in this collection because I thought they were heartwarming, sweet stories with wonderful characters.

Kensington Books publishes a wide variety of books that appeal to a wide audience. The Amish books they publish are some of the best Amish books on the market. That's why I asked to read An Amish Second Christmas. It is a collection of three novellas that detail the lives of three Amish couples with rocky starts to a
relationship.

My favorite one in this collection is the second one--"His Amish Angel." Maggie is one opinionated, outspoken Amish Lass who writes a column in the local newspaper called "Ask Miss Amish," where she tries to use Amish wisdom and beliefs to solve English-world problems. Somehow her bishop finds out and forbids her to continue writing.

Her ex-fiance, Atley, is the one who spilled the beans to the bishop, because the bishop is his uncle. She feels this act is the final betrayal in their relationship, but unbeknownst to her, he goes to his uncle and has him read what she's written and shows him how she's telling the world about the Amish life and how that can solve problems for misguided teens and young adults. One of the things Maggie and Atley need to learn is the art of give and take to make a happy home for both of them.

This is a five star collection, with two thumbs up, and an angel Christmas Ornament for your tree. I appreciate Kensington books for providing the galley I read through NetGalley.com. It's a great read for these chillier nights with a soft blanket and a hot drink.

An Amish Second Christmas by Shelley Shepard Gray, Patricia Johns and Virginia Wise contains three stories where couples are getting a second chance at love and life. Second Christmas is the day after Christmas where the Amish exchange gifts plus spend time with family and friends. I thought the stories were well-written with delightful and developed characters. They are uplifting stories with humor and sweet romance. I liked the feisty Maggie Lapp in His Amish Angel. She was not afraid to speak her mind and her column was a good outlet for her where she offered practical advice. We see how important compromise is to a relationship. I thought His Amish Angel was a unique story for Amish fiction. Their Second Chance is a thoughtful story where a couple is really getting a second chance. I liked that Hannah was breaking free from her family, but she was not disrespectful to them. I appreciated that there was an epilogue in Their Second Chance. In An Heirloom Christmas, Rachel grows heirloom plants. I could feel her passion for the project, and I like how she knew the history of the items she grew. The story also shows us that what we are looking for can be right there in front of us. Three heartwarming and charming stories that will leave you smiling (especially the end of An Heirloom Christmas). I look forward to reading more stories from these three authors.

"An Amish Second Christmas" includes stories about three Amish women. Each of them has her own struggles with which to contend. Conversely, each lady displays strength and courage to pursue her best calling in life, and find romance in unexpected places.

Hannah finds the strength to break with her Amish community to pursue the love of her life, with the blessing and cooperation of her parents.

Maggie "Miss Amish" defies her community to follow her calling to engage in writing an advice column that helps people learn more about Amish ways.

Rachel will not allow her disability to prevent her from operating her greenhouse business.

I liked the idea that each of the Amish women was portrayed in a way that differs from past Amish novels I have read. I hope this new portrayal of Amish women signals the start of a new direction for Amish novels.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

I absolutely love Christmas! And even though the sun is still shining and hot where I live, I am ready for Christmas lights, candies, carols, and apple cider! I have even walked around Walmart’s Christmas section just for the joy of seeing the happiness there. So, needless to say, I was quite happy to have not one, but three Christmas stories to read! An Amish Second Christmas was a lot of fun and brought that Christmas sparkle to my day as I read it! In Their Second Chance, by Shelley Shepard Gray, Hannah gets a second chance at love when Rob, the handsome fireman she called it off with to please her family, saves her life during a fire in her apartment. But she will have to have the courage to follow her heart, even when her family doesn’t agree. In His Amish Angel by Patricia Johns, Maggie finds joy in writing her column in the English paper, offering Amish advice to people who write in. When her ex boyfriend Atlee realizes she is the writer and tells the bishop, she is forced to quit. To add insult to injury, Atlee is staying in town until Christmas and she will have to see him. But can the two of them discover the love they once shared? Or will they realize it never left? Finally, Virginia Wise brings us An Heirloom Christmas. In the story, Rachel and Joseph are forced to work together until Christmas. They knew each other in school, but were never close. Now, due to circumstances neither expected, they are not only working together, but enjoying it. Can they find love and freedom in each other?
I would definitely recommend this book. It was a lot of fun and not only does it bring a splash of Christmas to you, but it reminds you of the joy that comes when you yield to your heart. I received a free copy of this story from NetGalley for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
