I really wanted to like this book. The synopsis held so much promise, but the book failed to deliver as much as I hoped for from it. I enjoyed it well enough, but with a few tweaks it could have been an even more enjoyable read.
I will not be giving feedback on this book as I couldn’t really get into it but I think others may enjoy it.
Stuck with You is a typical young adult book, boy and girl like each other throw in parties, crushes and doing things you arent suppose to do at that age. Though it is also about finding someone you don't mind being stuck to (yes I did just use a slight pun). Catie (love the spelling of this name) and Caleb have been thrown together their whole lives so when they find each other again the summer before the rest of their lives, everything seems to change. I love that the characters had history as it gave their story more depth as well as background. I didn't realise it was part of a series until after so I am going to have to read those books as well now.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. This was an okay, quick, teen romance about family and young love.
Thank you so much for allowing me to read and review your titles.
I do appreciate it and continue to review books that I get the chance to read.
Thanks again!
I would like to thank Entangled Crush and the Netgalley website for allowing me to read this book which is the third in the series: "The first kiss hypothesis".
Unfortunately I didn't know it was the third book in the series.
It's about Caleb heading to Texas for a future he probably doesn't want. He didn't expect to run into Catie Dixon. Their mothers have seen them married since they were young children and they are just friends. Catie has gotten over her love for him, but she sees that something has changed about him. They're going to have to live together for a week and is she not going to hate him anymore?
A book read in one go, so much so that I hooked into the story, so addictive, captivating, full of suspense and twists and turns with endearing characters. It makes me want to read the series from the beginning.
Stuck with You is the third book in The First Kiss Hypothesis by Christina Mandelski. I haven't read the second book in this series yet, but this one stood alone just fine. Katie and Caleb were best friends as kids, but as they grew up they grew apart... way apart. It was so much fun watching them come back together. Even though they still know pretty much everything about each other, it was fun watching them get to know each other again as young adults. They were awkward and angry, but also very adorable. They had this intensity to them that you could feel grow page by page. I enjoyed their story quite a bit and look forward to getting my hands on the book just before this one.

This was the perfect lazy summer day read. This was a quick and cute read that had me reminiscing about that pivotal time between high school and college along with young love.
I really liked the premise of this story. Catie and Caleb's families are good friends and they were the best of friends as children. They grew apart in middle school and meet up again right before they head off to college. They get to traverse the rocky road of past friendships, love, and second chances.
The characters were relatable enough but I didn't connect with them personally. They both have expectations thrust upon them by their parents and are trying to start the journey of who they are supposed to be, who they want to be, and how that fits with those expectations.
The romance seemed to take a backseat to the overall theme of preparing for the future but it was still adorable. The story is peppered with cute tells showing that the affections that they had for each other are more than they had first thought. Their love story will definitely entertain, make you smile, and make you feel the butterflies of first love.
Overall, this story wasn't overly memorable for me, but it was fun to read and I enjoyed it. If you enjoy light young adult contemporary romance then you are sure to like this book. I've not read any of this author's books previously but I would like to pick up the other books in this series and give them a try.
I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
This was such a good novel! I'm so glad I got the chance to read this and discover this author.
Catie and Caleb are so adorable. If I were their parents, I would have been planning their wedding when they were kids too! Seeing them interact and fighting their attraction for one another was great and makes the reader anticipates when they cave in.
I also appreciated how realistic the author made their struggles about their future. This is a very real thing that happens for high schoolers and college students. Then to add the pressure of their parents peer pressure (because let's face it, that's what they were doing) it would be a very tough decision to make.
I'm so glad I got a chance to read this book and I may have to look into more books by this author! :)
So often I'll pick up a light book like this to transition between 2 more serious, scary or heavy hearted novels. This read was perfect for just that.
It's a sweet highschool, all that lost time, wrong timing right timing, will they won't they, kinda romance.
Caleb and Catie (Catie with a C not a K😂 )grow up together as family friends. Their mothers are always pushing for them to be together so they are left to each other's company all the time. In true first-crush angsty-teenager fashion, know-it-all Catie follows too-cool Caleb around, who ignores or snaps back at her pretending not to care. The friendship sours and Caleb moves to Florida, the distance between them cutting all ties. Until years later when they both turn up at Caleb's beach house, each in need of their own escape... Let the sparks ensue!
It was a fun read, I enjoyed getting to know the characters, their similarities and differences, the reasons each of them needed the escape, how they came into themselves, and all the quirks of their personalities that made them just work.
I wasn't completely sold on the romance. Caleb and Catie had been in each other's orbits for as long as they could remember. They were childhood friends, who became frenemies in their teens. These two had so much history. However I felt like something was missing.Still, I find it cute and fast paced!
Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for the early copy!
I decided to put down the novel because I did not connect with the writing style.
Thank you entangled!
I love love all Christina Mandelski’s book. When I saw this coming, I couldn’t help myself from requesting it. I love the story, the characters. It was sweet, cute, loveable. I have the most enjoyable time reading this cute romance. Loving it!
*I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.*
I always enjoy a story about longtime friends who fall in love. Caleb (18) and Catie’s (17) story did not disappoint me in that respect; I was rooting for them almost the entire time. But I can’t give it more than 3.5 stars, unfortunately. Explanation will come later.
Between the two main characters, Caleb was my favorite. Yes, he previously had shut Catie out and ignored her for quite a while, though they had initially been close friends. But I really liked current Caleb, and though I wouldn’t excuse his earlier treatment of Catie, it was somewhat understandable. I felt he was pretty responsible and mature. He certainly took more on his shoulders than he needed to. Overall, he was a nice guy—and I mean that in the best way.
Catie kind of grated my nerves for a while. She and her friends lied to their parents about where they were going and wanted Caleb to lie for them. She was rather immature but was frequently trying (and failing) to act older. I found it annoying that Catie kept referring to her friends as “my girls.” For the most part, I found her more likable later on in the book, perhaps because I saw her more through Caleb’s eyes.
Their story was cute and had a typical amount of angst and drama for a young adult romance. As I mentioned before, I love seeing friends (or frenemies, in this case) fall for each other. It happened very naturally, and they had great chemistry. I found myself very invested in not only their relationship but in their individual paths. After all, the book isn’t only about them falling in love; it’s also about them figuring out what exactly they want to do with their lives and how to tell their parents that The Plan they’ve always had isn’t what they want.
My biggest complaint was some of the content, which is why I only gave it 3.5 starts. Catie and Caleb were constantly noticing each other’s bodies, including Caleb’s involuntary reactions to Catie. After Catie’s friends left, there was also quite a bit of sensuality. I think this could make a good movie if the content were toned down, though.
Note: Some swearing, including 4 f words. Sensuality. Almost a sex scene.
This was my first book by this author, and I can positively say that I really enjoyed reading this one. Its captivating. For sure I will be checking other books written by this author.
I just really enjoyed this book. It was just really easy to get lost in this book. I will definitely be reading more by this author.
A very cute contemporary! I really enjoyed it and flew through it. Definitely recommend for contemporary fans.
It took me a really long time to write out this review, if that tells you anything. It was okay. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it was also a little cute. The biggest thing for me was just how fast it moved. The whole novel takes place over the course of a week or two. When you go from irritated-to-love in that time, it just makes it a little more difficult for me, as the reader, to buy into. Definitely worth a pick up and read if you're headed down to the beach (or wishing you were), but just don't expect the best YA novel you've read lately. The author's writing is strong, she creates (for the most part) believable characters (I'd elaborate, but it would be a spoiler), and overall the pacing made it a quick read. I just wanted ... a little bit more out of it. But perhaps this just wasn't that book.
stuck with you is cute young adult romance follows caleb gray and the girl he grew up with, catie dixon. their parents were best friends forever and so from birth it was assumed that at some point caleb and catie would end up together.
caleb is an introvert and a follow the rules kind of guy. and catie is relentless and restless. both of them feel somewhat trapped by their parents' dreams for them. so it makes sense that for so long they mostly annoyed each other to no end, instead of actually getting along.
but when they are forced to spend a summer together, the chemistry between them is unmistakable. but life and their parents' dreams and their own dreams have them headed in different directions. can they even make things work? is it worth it?
**stuck with you will publish on september 2, 2019. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (entangled: crush) in exchange for my honest review.
Aw Caleb. It's so nice to see him paired off with someone. Finally. Especially with Catie, who I think is indeed, the perfect match for him. I loved this story. It's safe to say that, I think. I've basically followed this series from the very beginning - I reviewed an ARC of the first book - The First Kiss Hypothesis, and I've loved all of them. And this one was no different. Caleb and Catie, childhood companions? enemies? Yet, the balance each other out.
Characters:
Catie and Caleb simply made a great pair. Caleb - sweet, swoon worthy, handsome, gorgeous heart, and just a little bit closed - enough to make him have depth. As for Catie, fun, smart and not afraid to call Caleb out on his BS. Which she does. Several times. Both of them grew throughout the novel, which to me is a mark of a good story. What good is a story if they don't grow?
Storyline and Plotting:
Oh. The adventures these two go on. But as much as they don't move that far from the beach house, what they manage to do and explore in themselves is incredible. The plot moves at a reasonable rate, and the plotting works well.
Overall:
Just fantastic. Overall. That's pretty much all I have to say. I would love in the future to see some more books with these same characters. I really do love Christina Mandelski's writing, and I love how the storylines have inter-twined slightly.
I very generously received an ARC of this novel from the author and the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
