I feel bittersweet writing this review because this means it's the end of one of my favorite contemporary romance series EVER. When I read Passion on Park Avenue and Love on Lexington Ave last month, I seriously couldn't wait to read Audrey's story and I was stalking netgalley for the ARC. Well, I am so thankful Galley approved my request because this was seriously a great ending to the series.
Here we have the friends to lovers troupe. Audrey Tate and Clarke West have been best friends since childhood and have been there for each other through everything, include Clarke's manipulative mother. So when his mom decides to match him with his ex-girlfriend, he decides to play a game of his own - by announcing his engagement to Audrey. As his best friend, how can she not help him out? After all, it's just a temporary thing, right? Well, we all know how this will end.
Lauren Layne is SO good at what she does. This is a perfect series for anyone who is venturing into contemporary romance - it's light with witty dialogue. Also, it is very closed door so if you are not into steamy scenes, this is a great one to pick up. It's cute without being corny and the female friendship portrayed in these 3 stories is just perfection. Can't wait to see what Lauren Layne whips up next!
Thank you to Netgalley and Gallery books for a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was a fun fun read ! the perfect end to this series. The characters were interesting, and kept you turning the pages ! Cant wait for more from Lauren Layne!
Lauren Layne’s final installment in her Central Park Pact series, Marriage on Madison Avenue lives up to all of the hype and set expectations of the first two novels. Audrey and Clarke’s close friendship turned fake relationship created a brilliant storyline that allowed the characters to finally explore and recognize their deep love for each other. The novel was a beautiful story about friendship and love. It was a wonderful conclusion to an well-written series. Lauren Layne’s Central Park Pact Series will definitely have a place on many reader bookshelves.
Delightful. Lauren Layne excels at bringing relationships to life- both the romance and the friendships. The third book in a trilogy, I think this one was my favorite. Weaved throughout the other two books you caught glimpses of what was holding Audrey back, and it all came to fruition perfectly as her story unfolded. I wouldn't be sad if she decided to extend this series and we could revisit them now that all three ladies have their men. I suggest reading these in order, and then line her other series up on your to be read shelf because once you read one you'll want more!
This title was my favorite of this trilogy - I loved Clarke and Audrey SO MUCH. I love bff to lovers stories so much as they always have a great baseline to begin with.
Lovely ending for a charming series.
I always enjoy a Lauren Layne book. She is the queen of the NYC contemporary romance.
The friendships she creates and the sparkling dialogue she writes are always a joy to read.
P.S. I go back and forth on my opinion of illustrated covers, but the ones for this series have been delightful.
Thank you to NetGalley and Gallery Books for the ARC
Love this series! I was so excited to dive into Marriage on Madison Avenue to finally get Audrey’s story!
Audrey hasn’t been lucky in the love department (to put it mildly)! To add insult to injury, she’s had a snarky anonymous blogger nastily berating her on Instagram! When her childhood best friend, Clarke, suggest they get fake engaged to ward off his mother’s meddling the matchmaking, Audrey figures she can thwart off the blogger with this plan too—two birds, one stone! It’s a win-win, Audrey and Clarke have been besties that have been strictly platonic and heck, they’ve already done the fake engagement charade two times before so it will go like clockwork, right!?!?!?
Wellllllll, let’s just say I loved everything about this book! Reading this novel felt like catching up with old friends! I love fake engagements in romances novels and I enjoyed Lauren Layne’s original spin on it! Marriage on Madison Avenue is a 4.5 star gem that I recommend to all romance fans! This novel can be read as a standalone because Lauren Layne does a fantastic job with giving the reader a series refresher in the prologue, but I highly encourage you to start from the first installment—well worth it!
This is the third book in the Central Park pact series! It’s the first book I’ve read in this series and I feel can definitely be read as a stand-alone! The book was funny and a good story line! I do wish it had a little more heat to it if some of the sexy times were described at all it would have , for me, been better I like a little steam to my stories lol! This is Audrey and Clarke book! They have been best friends since they were little kids ! Clarke is a charming playboy and Audrey is ever loyal bestie! What starts out as a way to get his mother off his back ends up into something a little more than they both expected!! I recommend this. Ok if you like a nice clean sweet story this ones for you! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
Oh, Central Park Pact series, how I loathe to say goodbye to you!!!!
First, we had Naomi and Oliver and I thought no other couple would compare. Then, I met Claire and Scott and said okay no way can Audrey's story be as good as the first two. Within minutes of Marriage of Madison Avenue making it's way into my hands, I was enamored with Audrey and Clark's story. If you've read the first two novels in this series, you know that Audrey and Clark are long time best friends - and doesn't that often make for the strongest relationships at times?
Told in Layne's signature witty voice with the perfect sprinkles of drama and humor, Marriage on Madison Avenue is a true delight - especially for those who may also wonder how someone makes Instagram Influencer a career - like our girl Audrey does! This book was just entertaining from page 1 and I read it in it's entirety in one sitting (sorry, responsibilities)!!! The worst part was turning the last page knowing I would have to say goodbyes to these characters I have truly come to love over the course of the three books - three strong badass women and the men who build them up!
this book was so good! my only issue with it was that I felt the ending was a bit too rushed. this entire series was fantastic though and it makes me excited to read more of Lauren's books in the future.
