I liked everything about Lethal Redemption. This is a moderately paced romantic suspense thriller with a second chance romance aspect. Both leads have personal issues that did affect their relationship when they first started out. When they had to work together they also had an opportunity to work thru their own romantic relationship. The romantic aspect wasn’t center stage as much as the mystery aspect but it work really well with the overall storyline. There is great dialogue, great and appropriately placed sex and of course lead characters that have depth and basically the female lead really kicks ass! Lethal Redemption is the second book in the series featuring the Steele siblings and its looking like this is one of those series to watch out for.

Lethal Redemption
Steele Ops series book 2
Release Date: November 26th

When the publisher offered me this book for review I said yes without realizing that it’s book 2 in a series. I have rules, and one of them is to never read books out of order. So, I quickly went to Amazon and grabbed the first book. And that started my love affair with April Hunt’s books.

I love the heroine! We meet Grace Steele in the first book and it was so easy to like her. She’s all snark and sass, with a side of kick ass FBI agent. I found myself laughing whenever she was on the page. The banter between her and her male cousins was hilarious.

Cade, the hero, is drool worthy. He’s super protective of those he loves, and that’s one of my favourite traits in a hero! This is a second chance romance, and Grace and Cade have history. Even when she’s actively trying to stay away from him, the attraction is palpable. The author did a great job of showing these characters vulnerability and hurt, even when they present a tough exterior to the world.

I love romantic suspense novels, and two of my favourite authors that write in this genre are Maya Banks and Pamela Clare. This series by April Hunt has that same “feel” that I get when reading those two authors. Ms. Hunt makes her stories uniquely hers, and her style is her own, but I just get that same thrill. Does that make sense?

The writing was stellar and the characters were well rounded with a lot of depth to them. This book was action packed, angsty, thrilling, and all kinds of sexy. I’m definitely going to have a peek at this authors backlist!

Thank you Forever Romance for generously sending a copy of Lethal Redemption!⁣

Do you remember that TV show The Following with Kevin Bacon? If you are as weirdly intrigued by anything and everything cults like I am, you probably watched it too. Lethal Redemption reminded me of The Following in the best ways! Hell yes to a romantic suspense that combines invading a dangerous cult with steam!

I read and loved Deadly Obsession, the first in April Hunt’s Steele Ops series earlier this year. It was my first romantic suspense and made me obsessed with the genre. I could not wait tp read Lethal Redemption, especially once I heard it was going to be a second chance romance. And believe me, it was worth the wait.

Grace Steele, a top FBI profiler, knows cults. She escaped the Order of the New Dawn as a teen and hasn’t looked back. Until the private security firm Steele Ops needs her help saving the Vice President’s daughter from the cult’s hold. The only way to get back inside the cult she never wanted to see again? Posing as the fiancé of Cade Wright, the man who broke her heart nine years earlier.

I loved this one so much! The first part reads like a fast paced TV show, Grace has to go back to a mental place she never wanted to be again, back in the crosshairs of the cult that her mother took her to as a child. And the best way to do that is to pretend to be engaged to her former love and join the cult as a couple. The interactions between Grade and Cade are excellent, there’s even some “there’s only one bed” situations. But once you hit the steamy parts the chemistry between them is off the charts. I throughly enjoyed the pacing and plot for both the romance and action scenes, I mean you can’t go wrong with a fake relationship between two former lovers set in the middle of a cult!

Lethal Redemption was a 4.5 star read for me! I highly, highly recommend trying both this one and Deadly Obsession if you want to try romantic suspense! Both are exceptionally well written and such enjoyable reads.

Lethal Redemption, April Hunt's latest book, is not to be missed. It delivers an excellent black-ops mission, complete with strong women and hot heroes. I actually read this book in one sitting!

I would highly recommend this title to anyone who loves hot heroes, black-ops stories, and graphic romance.

In the interest of full disclosure, I received a free digital copy of this title to review from Net Galley.

Lethal Redemption is the second book in the Steele Ops series by April Hunt and another great story! This read is full of mystery, suspense, drama, romance, and family ties that keeps you turning page after page. Grace is tough and brave and ready to take on her own demons to save another person. Cade is so in love with her and will do everything he can to protect her and make sure she is safe. I loved the interplay between the cousins and can’t wait for the next story! Another brilliant story to enjoy!

Lethal Redemption is the second book in the Steele Ops series by April Hunt. It can be read as stand-alone and the main characters from book 1 appear in this story, but there is no need to read that book if you don't want to.

The book had a very good premise, but it didn't work out for me. Mainly because the second most used cliche phrase was used when it came to the hero sleeping with other women after the heroine. You see the hero slept with other women in the ten years they were apart, but not with women who had the same hair colour as Grace because she was the only one with that hair colour he could have wanted. I hate when someone is pinning for the person they broke up with, but never actually tries to work things out. Or maybe he did, but not to the point I read. I could get that sentence out of my head after I read it and at some point, I stopped. Yeah, I DNF the book. It can happen when it comes to second chance romances. They are a hit or miss for me and that phrase was the thing that made the book a miss for me, even though it had so much potential.

Lethal Redemption is the second installment in the Steele Ops Series by April Hunt and works amazingly well as a standalone. The first book was a 5 star read for me and this definitely delivered for me with all the suspense and the romance.

This story follows Grace Steele, an FBI profiler whose history as a teen involved joining and escaping a cult called the Order of the New Dawn. Now, she is called upon to help the daughter of the Vice President. The mission is to pose as a couple with Cade Wright, who broke her heart many years ago. Grace is a character I loved – she is strong, no nonsense, and of course, it is a bonus that she has a gun named Magdalena – I am sold!

April Hunt is the queen of writing these romantic suspense genres that will keep your nose in the book, heart racing for the mystery and romance, and all while keeping you at a constant thrill to the very end. It is a fast paced read and highly entertaining. You will definitely enjoy the chemistry between Grace and Cade. I cannot wait for the next installation of this series. April Hunt is an auto buy author for me. I love reading her writing, which is flawless and highly addictive.

Thank you to Estelle and the team at ForeverPub for introducing me to the ever so wonderful April Hunt! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily reviewed this book. All opinions are my own.

I completely adored the second installment in this series! Lethal Redemption is a great couples with history romantic suspense. The stakes were plenty high and kept my adrenaline going. The aspect of a cult religion in this one really worked well for me. I also love the fake dating/forced proximity part of this as well. These two were clearly written to be made for each other, but there was a genuine betrayal of trust in their relationship that changed everything.
Hunt knows what she is doing, and I am going to continue to read her work!

I don't often read romantic suspense, but I really enjoyed Lethal Redemption. It was a fast paced and entertaining read. I am a sucker for second chance romances, especially childhood sweethearts, so I was rooting for Grace and Cade from the very start. Throw in the fake relationship trope and lots of action and I was sold! This is book 2 in the series, but can be enjoyed as a standalone. I have not had a chance to read book 1 yet and did not feel lost with the different characters and background of the story/series.

Grace was a really intriguing heroine. I loved her intelligence and take no prisoners attitude. Her chemistry with Cade was undeniable and their banter and back and forth was fantastic. As much as I loved Grace and Cade though, the cause of their separation didn't quite sit right with me. It felt too sudden and drastic after hearing about their supposed epic love. Second chance always has lots of angst, but I almost felt like this had too little. Yes, nine years have passed, but things flipped relatively quickly. I didn't like that things fell to Grace with the drama at the end either. I felt like Cade needed to do more groveling and play a more active role this time around.

The plot of the story and discussion about cults was fascinating. I thought the writing was stellar and I really felt like I was getting a glimpse into that world. The different layers and ideaology behind the fictitious Order of the New Dawn were well thought out and made for a compelling and unique backdrop for the story. This was an action packed read and I didn't see some of the twists coming. This is my first April Hunt book, but I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series.

3.5-4 stars

This is a great series with an excellent cast of characters If you haven't read book 1 in the series i highly recommend you do so not because you need it to figure out what's happening in this story but because you'll be sorry to miss it.
From the get go when Grace enters the dark building in a questionable part of town , my nerves began to sizzle in excitement. Then she's stoped and frisked and has to give up her gun and tasked with infiltering the very cult that she had once barely escaped alive and assigned Cade Wright her estranged lover as a partner. The deck sure is stacked against Grace on this one, isn't it?Grace spent her childhood in a cult after her father died. Never one to take things at face value she finally escaped with her life at the age of 13 and ended up with her Steele cousins. Cade Wright is her cousin's best friend but even from that young age their relationship was different until Cade enlised for another term with the military leaving Grace high and dry. Now he's working with her cousins and will be her partner on her new mission but even with their strong chemistry, Grace is not going to open the door he once shut.
The author does an excellent job of taking her readers into the cult and introducing the mind control and fear that is used to control the members. Grace's mother is the right hand of the cult and has designed an effective set of punishments and brainwashing techniques that are administered by none other than the person who Grace and Cade have been assigned to free. While they are in the compound, Grace and Cade find that the cult has a much darker and much more violent agenda than Grace remembers but none the less they execute their mission only to find they've just uncovered the tip of the iceberg.
The twists and turns will keep your adrenaline pumping and just when you think you've got it another tangent will uncover a whole new series of surprises. I absolutely can't wait for Roman's book next so that I can step back into this world.

Lethal Redemption is the second book in April Hunt's Steele Ops series. This story brings us the story of FBI profiler Grace Steele and Cade Wright of Steele Ops security. Grace and Cade used to be together and in it for the long haul but 9 years ago Cade made a decision that derailed that plan and Grace hasn't forgiven him. Now they have to work together to save a government officials daughter from a cult. The same cult Grace escaped from when she was a young girl. Grace has a lot on her plate from bringing the woman home safe, facing her past, and risking her heart to Cade again.

I really enjoy April Hunt's writing and her characters. My struggle with this was the plot line itself . One of my least favorite story lines are ones that have to do with cults. But that aside the story kept my interest and I really loved Grace and Cade's relationship. They worked really well as a team. Their connection both emotionally and physically was realistic and believable. Grace is such a bad a** woman who doesn't take sh*t from anyway and I admired that. She wasn't your typical woe is me damsel in distress. Yes, she wasn't perfect and had emotional trauma that still haunted her, but she didn't let it hold her back. She took every situation by the reins and owned it.

Lethal Redemption was a good addition to the Steele Ops series. I am very excited for the next book in the series and I am dying to get into Roman Steele's head.

This was my first read of April Hunt. This was a combination of High Suspense, FBI, A Cult and the highly combustible Second Chance Romance. Although it was the second book of the Security Steele Ops, I was able to jump in and not feel as if I was left out.

The story was story and the writing clear.

LETHAL REDEMPTION is the second instalment in April Hunt’s contemporary, adult STEELE OPS romantic suspense series focusing on the Steele family. This is thirty year old, FBI profiler Grace Steele, and thirty-two year old, former US Army Ranger / police officer Cade Wright’s storyline. LETHAL REDEMPTION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Grace and Cade) LETHAL REDEMPTION follows the second chance relationship between thirty year old, FBI profiler Grace Steele, and thirty-two year old, former US Army Ranger / police officer Cade Wright. Seventeen years earlier, Grace Steele escaped the rigid controls of the Order of the New Dawn, a cult of which her mother remains an active member. Upon her return to civilization Grace was raised by her Aunt Cindy alongside her cousins: former Army Ranger Knox Steele, retired Navy man Liam , retired Marine Ryder and US soldier Roman, and together they formed Steele Ops private security.

Nine years ago Grace had her heart destroyed when Cade Wright, the man with whom she believed she would spend the rest of her life, walked away without looking back, a man who now works for her cousins at Steele Ops Security. As a top FBI profiler Grace Steele will be called in, alongside Steele Ops Security, to help rescue the daughter of a high-ranking government official, a rescue that places Grace back into the world of the Order of the New Dawn (OND). What ensues is the rebuilding friendship and romance between Cade and Grace as they must pretend to be in a committed relationship, as the team devises a plan to get in, extract and rescue a young woman, from the Order of the New Dawn, who doesn’t want to be rescued.

Cade Wright has never stopped loving Grace Steele but duty called, and Cade found himself dedicating his life to the US military. Believing he would be a detriment to Grace Steele’s career, Cade watched from the sidelines as the woman he loved became a stronger person because of the actions of our story line hero. Grace Steele was destroyed the day Cade Wright walked out of her life, breaking her heart and breaking her soul. Forced to work with Cade meant facing the demons that took away her childhood years, demons that continue to haunt our story line heroine.

The relationship between Cade and Grace is one of second chances; a rekindling romance between two people whose lives went in opposite directions only to be pulled together by a mutual cause. Cade Wright always believed Grace would be better off without him in her life; a battle between head and heart, Cade walked away losing a part of himself in the process. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Grace’s mother Rebecca Steele, and cult leader Teague Rossbach; former CIA agent Rhett Winston and his son Todd; Vice President Pierce Brandt, and his daughter Sarah; as well as Sarah’s boyfriend Simon; several members of the OND, and Cade’s father retired Army Genera Hogan Wilcox. We are reintroduced to the Steele Ops team: former Army Ranger Knox Steele and girlfriend Zoey Wright (Cade’s sister and Grace’s best friend), retired Navy man Liam Steele , retired Marine Ryder Steele, and US soldier Roman Steele, along with their mother Cindy.

The world building follows the rebuilding relationship between Cade and Grace, as well as the ongoing camaraderie between the Steele brothers, their cousin Grace and friend and fellow agent Cade Wright.

LETHAL REDEMPTION is a story of family, friendship, betrayal and love; a story of power and control ; of manipulation, revenge and redemption. The suspense filled premise is engaging and entertaining;; the characters are colorful , energetic and captivating; the romance is seductive and hot.

The Steele Ops series has not disappointed so far! This is romantic suspense at its best. I’ve been utterly enthralled with the back stories of these characters and how it plays into their current situation. Grace’s back story is pretty fascinating and really informs her choices as an FBI agent. I really love The strong female leads in these books too! We meet Grace and Cade in book 1, Deadly Obsession, and learn there’s some history between the two. Luckily, April Hunt writes the enemies to lovers so well! Seriously, between the second chance romance and the suspense of the situation they’re in I couldn’t put it down. I would definitely recommend this series!

After meeting Grace and Cade in Deadly Obsession, I couldn't wait for their story! These two are clearly meant for each other, but some serious unresolved issues have them at each other's throats more often than not.

Grace spent her early years living in a cult, but when she escaped at the age of 13 she found her real family with the Steeles and their neighbors the Wrights. Cade became Grace's safe place, and their relationship eventually took off until one thing got in their way: his decision to rejoin the Army Rangers for another tour of duty without talking it over with Grace or giving her any explanation 9 years ago. That decision led to a lot of pain for both of them and Grace is determined that he will never have the ability to hurt her that much ever again.

Cade knows he made a huge mistake all those years ago and he will do anything for a second chance with the one who has owned his heart since he was old enough to understand the concept. He is the only person who comes close to having a full understanding of the trauma Grace suffered at the hands of Order of the New Dawn, but even he doesn't have the full picture. Now the VP of the United States is asking Steele Ops to infiltrate OND to rescue to his daughter, and he wants Grace's help to do it. The thought of returning to that world terrifies and nauseates her but if there is a chance that she can save even a single person from that madness, she has to try. Having Cade at her side will be both a blessing and a curse in her mind, but the benefits quickly outweigh the negatives.

The tension and conflicting emotions jumped off the page, and I found the OND aspect of the story to be fascinating as the two characters did what they had to in order to get the job done and survive with minimal emotional damage. Grace is a strong woman with some vulnerabilities, but her attitude had me smiling and laughing many times along the way. Seeing them finally break through the doubts and hurt inflicted by unspoken questions as they finally laid all their cards on the table was very well done. Lethal Redemption was a great story with action, heat, and humor and I am already looking forward to the next book in the series!

I read the first book in this series and really enjoyed it. This one, I loved. I think it's because the 'world' has already been set up, you know most of the side characters and got a little background on the main characters in the previous book, Deadly Obsession.
Deadly Obsession was my first book by April Hunt and I was super excited to read this one next. We met Cade and Grace in DO and knew there would be a lot of tension between them in Lethal Redemption. Grace, a Special Agent in the FBI & Cade, former military, detective and now a part of Steele Ops, have known each other for years. Many of those years they were a couple until something happened to split them up. It's now years later and they have to work together to infiltrate a cult.
Past hurts and two very strong willed people created a lot of snark and great banter. I laughed a number of times while reading this fast paced, action packed, fun, sexy, suspenseful romance. I found it hard to put down and read it in a day.
Cults, under cover work, secrets, murders and a gun named Magdalena. Trust me, you'll want to read this one.

Lethal Redemption by April Hunt is book Two in the Steele Ops Series. This is the story of Cade Wright and Grace Steele. I have read the previous books but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Grace is a FBI Profile agent who works hard to help others and her job. So when she is requested to help the Vice Presidents daughter who has ended up with the same Cult that Grace escaped from she goes forward to do so. This also puts her back with Cade a man who she loved but they broke up and now she has to pretend to be with him again. This was a very exciting read that touched your heart with a second chance romance.
Loved it!
