Great book by April Hunt!
Grace was raised in a cult from the age of 5 till 13, when she managed to escape and find a new home with her aunt and cousins. Putting her past behind her was never easy, and not something she liked to talk about. Her first friend, and love, Cade, was her cousins' best friend. After all she escaped from , Grace was looking forward to a life with Cade, when Cade's life went in a different direction from hers. After the heartbreak, Grace went on to become a valued member of the FBI.
Fast forward 9 years, when the Vice Presidents daughter is reported to have joined none other then the New Dawn, the cult Grace was able to escape from, it is her past experience with the colt and its leaders, her mother and her mother's lover, that lead her to be the best way to save the VP's daughter. With Cade at her side, can they overcome their personal differences to not only save Sarah, but each other as well? Can Grace finally put the past behind her and have the future she has always wanted?
Great story filled with action, suspense, love and forgiveness .

We are back in DC with the Steele clan and a story filled with suspense, dangerous people, a cult and of course romance.
Grace Steele, an FBI profiler, is the cousin the Steele family took in when she was thirteen after living in a cult where her mother took her. She escaped and has overcome many obstacles but those years are still part of her.
Cade Wright , best friend of the Steele family, was her rock from the moment she moved in with the Steele’s and is the man she’s always loved. But he left her behind nine years ago , and the pain and distrust still lingers.
When Steele Ops, and Grace are asked to help rescue from the same cult the daughter of the vice president, Cade and Grace are forced to work together .
Will they be able to save the girl and in doing so, find their HEA or will they lose their last chance of happiness?
Though I am partial to book one in the series, this one was still a very good story and one worth your time.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Forever. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

If you’ve watched every episode of Escaping Polygamy multiple times and now have a keen interest in how cults work, but also love a well-written romance novel, look no further than Lethal Redemption. We’re introduced to Grace Steele as a talented FBI profiler who has been requested by Vice President Brandt to extract his daughter from a dangerous semi-local cult. As it turns out, part of the reason she’s been given this assignment is due to the fact that she grew up in the cult, but left when a civil encounter turned violent. To make matters even more complicated, her partner in all of this is her longtime love and current ex, Cade. Will their skillsets, along with those of her cousins who take on special ops, rescue Sara Brandt? Will Cade and Grace’s love be rekindled? And what is on earth is going on within the confines of the cult’s “Sanctuary”?

This is the second book in April Hunt's Steele Ops series and I have to say that I liked it a lot more than the first. I felt the lead characters were deeper and well-rounded than the first. Grace and Cade's story is a second chance at love kind of story. Grace is a Steele cousin and an FBI agent. She is brought in on a case to work with Steele Ops. She and Cade find themselves going undercover and the case is connected to Grace's past.

Lots of action. Grace was a take-no-prisoners kind of agent and kicked ass. Cade was caring and protective, but not in a domineering alpha kind of way. He knew she could take care of herself. It had a sneak peek of the next one and I will definitely be watching for it!

I had the opportunity to read an early copy of this book through NetGalley.

Lethal Redemption by April Hunt is a romantic suspense novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It also explores the nature of what makes a family. I really enjoyed this story it gave me a lot to think about. Hot guys, strong women and some thoroughly bad individuals give you a heart pounding escape.

Extreme Honor by Piper J. Drake features hunky men, dogs and a good mystery. This book rocked! Hope’s Crossing kennel provides a second chance for abused working dogs and the former military guys that run it. Atlas is a special case. He is a hero dog who is suffering because his handler was killed by “friendly fire” as requested Atlas is sent to Hope’s Crossing with secrets on his shoulder, David is determined to find out what happened to Atlas and his handler. The last thing he needs is a pretty subcontractor distracting him. But Atlas responds well to her and well so does David but the closer they get to the truth the more danger they are in. I really enjoyed this fast paced romantic suspense. The characters are multi-dimensional and hard not to like. The author makes you feel for them and for Atlas. The story is loaded with surprises and keeps you enthralled.

April Hunt is a must read if you like Romantic Suspense with an FBI/LEO character and plenty of snappy dialog. I love it when I find an author by accident on Netgalley and they become a must read for me. April Hunt has been added to my list of favorite Romantic Suspense authors! I thought the premise of this book was unique and really interesting. Cults and Polygamy and things like that fascinate me, so to have a book that delved into the former was alot more interesting than the normal standard fare for romantic suspense. I loved this book and will be reading all of Ms. Hunts books!

Grace is a FBI profiler but she was raised in a cult. She ran away at the age of thirteen and lived with her father’s family. Now she’s being asked to get a high ranking man’s daughter out of The Order of the New Dawn. Cade was former Ranger and now works for Steele Brothers. Cade left Grace nine years ago and she’s never forgiven him. Now they must go undercover as a couple back into the place that she ran from.
Awesome story with action and suspense. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. Grace is a ball buster and she does what must be done.

Top FBI profiler Grace Steele was just a girl when she escaped the Order of the New Dawn, and she’s spent the last seventeen years trying to forget her time there. But when private security firm Steele Ops needs her help extracting a young woman from the secretive cult’s clutches, she’s all in. Even though the mission requires posing as the fiancée of the only man who’s ever broken her heart.

It’s been nine years since Cade Wright turned his back on his childhood sweetheart, and he’s never stopped regretting it. My thoughts

Would I recommend it? Yes

Will I read more of this series? yes

Will I read more by this author? yes

Wow this series just keep getting better , and here I thought book 1 was my favorite but after reading this one , this one might be my favorite one , i would have to say that April Hunt is now one of my favorite romance authors to read right up there with Christie Craig, Piper J.Darke just to name a few, after reading this one I can't wait for her next book which comes out in 2020 , so I think what I might do is reread books 1&2 again , just for the fun of it, I loved how just like the first book this one made me smile and loved the interaction between Grace and Cade, plus i loved the interaction between Cade and his best friends , and while it does pick up the topic of cults and how they work it still was a story I got lost in . So thank you Netgalley and Forever Romance for letting me read it as well as review it , and a big thanks to Forever for sending me a copy of it as well.

This book follows an FBI agent and a former Army Ranger who use to date while the go undercover as a couple to try and rescue the Vice President's daughter from a cult. Can these two accomplish their mission and remain safe and emotionally okay? You'll have to read to find out.

This book is snarky and funny while dealing with a difficult subject. The humor was a plus for me. The characters are great and I cannot wait to read more. I'll be going back to book one to catch up.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I found Grace and Cade’s story riveting. Grace was raised with her cousins after leaving a cult when she was a teenager. She and Cade were good friends growing up and in a relationship when she was in college until Cade decided to re-up for another tour of duty without telling Grace.. The two of them, have to put aside their personal issues to help rescue a girl from the same cult that Grace escaped from. She will have to face her deepest fears and come face to face with the one person she never wanted to see again.. Even the ending was shocking but so good!

Lethal Redemption

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from Netgalley but all opinions provided are my own.

April Hunt’s Lethal Redemption offers a cornucopia of tropes for the romance lover: it’s a second chance, lovers-to sorta enemies-to lovers, best friend’s sibling romance with plenty of thrills.

Cade, Steele Ops employee and brother to Zoey (whom we met in the first book in the series), is willing to do anything to re-kindle his relationship with Grace. They grew up together and dated for several years when, without any advance notice, Cade re-upped his military contract and he and Grace split up. Now their relationship is mostly comprised of a combo of antagonistic and so-cold-you’ll-get-frostbite treatment. Not exactly conducive to a deep romantic connection.

But then the Steele Ops and the Vice President ask FBI profiler Grace to assist with a rescue mission. The VP’s daughter is living in a cult that Grace was a member of as a child. Of course, this mission will require that Grace confront her own past and the partner she’s unwillingly saddled with—Cade.

The sexual tension between Cade and Grace is great, but the real challenge for them is the emotional work they both have to do to get anywhere close to a HEA. I wanted a bit more groundwork on how their separation actually happened—the treatment felt a tad vague—but Hunt does provide sufficient background into why it’s so hard for Grace to learn to trust again.

Cade and Grace have some confronting & self-reflecting to do, and both handle it maturely, without anything feeling too angsty. I love how Grace eventually shows that she’s willing to fight for them, and she becomes someone who’s not willing to let decisions be made for her.

While this book didn’t hit me quite as hard as the previous book in the series did, Lethal Redemption’s got the “good stuff” I’m starting to associate with an April Hunt book: sexy, consuming romance set against a dramatic, fast-paced story, and a set of characters that I really like spending time with. Can’t wait for Roman’s story!

Lethal Redemption April Hunt (Steele Ops)
Grace and Cade

Content information: This book is loaded with f-bombs and has a few explicit sex scenes. If those things will cause you to leave a bad review, you'll want to skip this book. While there is a cult involved, there is no non-consensual sex or anything sex-cult-creepy in this book, just some really steamy sex between the hero and heroine.

I need to start this review with a truth: I do not read romantic suspense. I prefer my romance fluffy and funny and totally escapist reading, so I tend to avoid romantic suspense. It's just not my jam. All of that said, I really enjoyed this story from start to finish to the point where I stayed up until almost 2 am reading because I HAD to find out how the ending played out.

This was my first book by Ms. Hunt and I really enjoyed the way she wrote with such a great sense of humor. While all of the parties took their rescue mission seriously, and the topic was serious, they also had hilarious banter and inner dialogues and those things helped to even out the more serious moments but never lessened the importance. I highlighted dozens of passages as I read because they were either laugh out loud funny or subtly hilarious. (I will never be able to hear a goose call without thinking of this book.) But it wasn't just humor, the story of Grace's childhood and her return to the cult was incredibly intriguing, and the twists and turns kept me from wanting to put the book down until I knew what happened. The story was so interesting, in fact, that I found myself skimming over the sex scenes – not because they weren't sexy or they bother me, but because I really needed to know what happened. That's a huge compliment to Ms. Hunt's writing.

Although romantic suspense is not my usual jam, I will keep an eye out for more books by this author.

***MAJOR SPOILERS IN THIS PARAGRAPH*** The only thing that kept this from being a five star read for me was that it felt like there were strings left blowing in the wind that made me cuss out loud when I got to the end of the book. The cult has people on the outside in all levels of the military and the government (including a state department person who funnels them big, scary guns), and other cult members and Elite Guard members are still out there with a mission to wreak havoc on the world or else they won't achieve their “New Dawn”, but there's no mention of any of them being found and dealt with. Even just a throw-away line about mass arrests shaking up the world would have been great. Instead we're left wondering if Grace and Cade really accomplished much in the long run which is really disappointing.

Romantic suspense is not my favorite genre but I picked up this book because I was intrigued by the cult plot line. It may be the second book in a series but works as a standalone and I was immediately drawn into Grace and Cade's reunion and second chance at love. My waning interest in the mystery at the center of the book was par for the course but I really enjoyed all of the characters enough to be interested in reading more titles in this series.

FBI agent Grace Steele was 13 when she escaped from the order Of The New Dawn, a cult that her Mother brought her to as a child. Grace had put the cult in her rear view mirror until she is asked to help get the daughter of the Vice President away from the Cult. Grace doesn’t feel she can say no and she is partnered with Cade Wright her former child hood love.

This book is action packed and will grab you from the first page. It will have you on the edge of your seat rooting for Grace and Cade to succeed. I couldn’t stop turning the pages. There is a twist at the end of the story that caught me by surprise. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
