As usual Cara's books are real page turner's. You can't put them down. This isn't the first book of hers I've read and it certainly won't be the last. Thank you.

This is the 4th book in the DI Adam Fawley series. I’ve read them from the beginning and this one is just as good as the rest, it has really turned into a great series. The characters have developed well and it feels like being part of the team when you read them. The case was quite twisty and kept you guessing. Although there wasn’t as much of it in this particular book, I love the way it’s broken up with tweets and pictures. You could read this as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading them from the start. I’m really looking forward to reading the next one in this series and hope that Cara Hunter writes more. Another great Adam Fawley novel which was tense and exciting throughout. Really liked the way the plot developed and tied up all loose ends.

Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). A good read, which kept my attention throughout. I would recommend this as a good holiday reading book. Very enjoyable.

As DI Adam Fawley and his team begin to investigate the crime against Faith, they discover that it could be a hate crime but not everyone is convinced. And then another young girl in the area goes missing, and Adam's worst fears are confirmed when both cases are tied back to a serial rapist he put away 18 years ago, who may now have the perfect reasons to be let out of jail as an innocent man.

Despite this book being the fourth in a series, this is the first book I have read of the series and I absoltely loved this. I listened to this on audiobook and I felt completely enraptured by the story from the crimes committed against Faith and Sasha, the two girls' personal lives and the people in them, not to mention the Adam Fawley himself, his background and history and the members of his team. This book is expertly written, and I thought it was brilliantly paced and really kept me on my toes with twists and reveals I never saw coming.

I'm definitely going to be looping back and reading this series from the start, and I'm so glad to have found another excellent crime series to devour.

Teenager Faith Appleford is abducted from a bus stop on the busy Oxford road during the morning rush hour, bundled into a van and taken to a shed on an allotment. Before her abductor can finish what he started, he is frightened off by the sound of nearby sirens. Faith refuses to press charges and provides information to the police only under duress. When another girl is taken from the same area two days later, DI Adam Fawley and his team are well aware that Sasha Blake might not be so lucky and that, as time passes, the chances of their search teams finding the girl alive are rapidly dwindling. Are the cases connected and, more importantly, are they connected to the Roadside Rapist, who Fawley helped put behind bars over twenty years earlier?

I have been a big fan of Cara Hunter’s Adam Fawley books since I cracked open Close to Home in the dim and distant days of early 2018 (2 years? Can we really have been so spoilt – 4 very fine novels in such a short period?), and a new book in the series is always cause for celebration. I’m happy to tell you that All the Rage is no exception.

Sticking to the procedural formula that has worked so well before, Hunter also pulls back the curtains on the lives of the novel’s protagonists, giving us a much more intimate look at who these people are, and what they do when they’re not investigating some of Oxford’s most heinous crimes. For the first time she provides us with a first-person account of the proceedings from Fawley himself, interspersed with the narrative from a number of other points of view. Fawley’s marriage is back on track following the separation that dogged him during the previous book, and his wife is pregnant; this allows Hunter to show a very intimate side of Fawley, given his personal history, and the fate of his first son.

While he’s the only character given a first-person voice, Fawley is not the only character whose feelings are placed under a microscope. His female staff members – Ev and Somer – in particular play a central role in this case, and Hunter examines the many ways in which they are affected – despite their very different characters – by the abduction of these young girls, and by the grief that their families suffer throughout.

Along with the usual social media feeds and newspaper clippings that give the reader a sense of how the public are reacting to these high-profile crimes, Hunter provides a number of courtroom transcripts that introduce us to an Adam Fawley of twenty years ago, and to the Roadside Rapist, a man that Fawley helped to put behind bars and a case that, ultimately, is very personal to the detective inspector. These latest crimes, and their similarity to those of the Roadside Rapist, seem to suggest that Fawley maybe got it wrong twenty years ago, that the man he put behind bars was as innocent as he always claimed to be. This conflict of interest allows Hunter to introduce a new character in the form of DI Ruth Gallagher, who brings a new dynamic to the team, and whose very presence in Fawley’s squad room sows a seed of doubt about the man for whom we keep returning to Hunter’s novels. Is Fawley who we thought he was and, more importantly, can we – both readers and subordinates – trust anything that he says or does?

Cara Hunter has accomplished so much in such a short period of time, and the DI Adam Fawley series goes from strength to strength, each book more complex, more tightly plotted, more enjoyable than the last. Watching these characters grow and evolve is as fascinating as the crimes around which the novels are constructed and the sense of humanity that Hunter evokes is one of the key reasons that this reader returns for each new book. All the Rage grips from the opening page and keeps us guessing until the very last chapter, as theories develop and are disproved, new suspects are introduced and assessed, until that final satisfying click! that is the sound of everything falling into place, the only possible solution that, we see in hindsight, should have been as obvious as the nose on our face.

I can’t recommend Cara Hunter’s novels highly enough. If you’ve yet to meet DI Adam Fawley, then what are you waiting for? Go now and pick up a copy of Close to Home. You’ll be clamouring for Book 5 by the end of next week. These are some of the finest British crime fiction being produced today, and Cara Hunter is a force to be reckoned with. I’m already pining for Fawley and looking forward to his next case. You should be, too!

This book took me two attempts to finish, but did persevere as I wanted to know how it ended.

I really struggled to keep track of what was going on in the book as I found that there were just too many characters. However, it is possible that i only struggled as I haven't read the previous books in the series.

The writing was engaging and i was intrigued to find out the ending.

This is the 4th installment in this series. And I feel like I would like to read the first 3 just to get a better understanding of the characters. However, this was my own mistake when I picked the book, I should have realised.

Anyway the writing was clever and well thought out. Plenty of twists and turns to keep me on my toes. I will definitely be reading more from Hunter

I received a digital arc of this from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I'd previously read No Way Out by Cara before and really enjoyed it so I was excited to be able to read this next installment in the Adam Fawley series. I'd forgotten that this author doesn't use traditional chapter breaks which initially makes the book very disjointed and confusing as you try and work out what's going on. However I soon got used to it and could then fully immerse myself in the story. I was desperate to find out who had attacked Faith and Sasha and everytime I thought I'd worked it out, a new piece of evidence came to light which threw my theories out of the window. I should have anticipated who the attacker was, now that I know, but I just completely overlooked it. Great twist - great characters - great story.

All the Rage is the fourth book in the DI Adam Fawley series, and while I think this book works as a standalone, but I would have preferred to have known some of the detective’s backstory. Faith Applewood, is found injured and distraught, wandering the streets of Oxford. She recounts her horrifying experience of being kidnapped and assaulted, however she refuses to press charges. That in itself is unusual but when another teenage girl goes missing, it becomes a race against time to find her before it ends in a tragedy.

As someone who reads quite a few thriller and crime books, this wasn’t anything too exciting. However, this was still an enjoyable read due to how well-written and suspenseful the pace was. I still would recommend this book, and I will be checking out the other books in this series.

This is the fourth book in the series and each book gets better. The story turns on it’s head several times and just when you think you know what happened, it delivers another turn. The characters are believable and the background story of Adam and his wife bring the character to life. Loved this book and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I downloaded this book after being recommended it by a friend.
Unfortunately I did not realise it was part of a series and I struggled to get into the book and connect with the characters.
For that reason I was only able to give it 2* and I found it unrelateable, but I wonder if I start the series from the beginning I may give it a second read.

Although there were a few twists in this book I did find it heavy going and ploughed through but can't say I particularly enjoyed it unfortunately.

A thrilling story of youth, jealousy, anger and murder. A good read with a few twists and turns. Well thought out storyline.

Knocked it out of the park (again)!

I have enjoyed all of Cara Hunters books and the Fawley series is completely addictive.
The characters are so relateable, the stories are so realistic and the police procedures so informative.

This book went a step further than previously and without giving any spoilers (because I personally hate that) went where I never expected and the story gripped me until the very last page.

There were so many elements and individual stories all embroiled into 1 amazing package that surprised, shocked & delighted me all at once.

I love the additional elements in the book like a running commentary of a pod cast, the usual headlines from newspapers & social media posts as this is what our life is like now so this would be an every day find during the course of a case like this.

Following these books from the start I love how the characters unfold and you learn a little more about them each time and their own lives become part of the books as much as the story of the actual cases.

I can not wait for the next installment "Come to Harm" as I think Cara Hunter simply gets better & better each time and never disappoints, She is defimitely one of my few favourite authors.
