What a gripping story!
I enjoyed it from the first chapter until the last one. Well written, great characters and the interesting story overall, it kept me on my toes all the time and some great twists and turns that I didn't see coming my way. That's definitely a big point for me and this story is making it's way to my favourite books of the year 2019.
Even if it's my first book by the author and in the series, I want to go back and read the first three as I'm sure they are as well a page-turner suspense/crime thrillers

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest, independent review.

After a teenage girl is assualted on the outskirts of Oxford, and the attack has a sickening similarity to a historic case, DI Adam Fawley does his best to investigate, even though the student refuses to press charges. But then another girl goes missing, and this one may not be so lucky...

I was so excited to be approved to read Cara Hunter's fourth book in the DI Adam Fawley series; I've loved the rest of the series so far, and this one did not disappoint! The plot twists had me hooked from the beginning, and kept me guessing right until the end - a real page-turner.

There are strong characters throughout, and I loved catching up with the characters from the rest of the series.

The police investigation was also very convincing, and had me intrigued throughout. As with the previous novels in the series, I love the interview transcripts, documents and social media feeds scattered throughout - I felt like I was one of the investigators working on the case!

Just like Hunter's other books, this one could also work as a standalone series. Strongly recommmended!

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book and ate it up in super quick time. I read Close to Home, book 1 in the series, immediately before this one and I think this enhanced my enjoyment of this story as it gave a bit more meat to the characters but having said that, I think it would work as a standalone.

A young woman is attacked but doesn't want the police involved and then it happens again; both cases bearing a striking resemblance to an old case Fawley was involved in where the perpetrator was imprisoned ... could this be a copy-cat or has an innocent man been in jail for many years?

Once again, we are treated by Ms Hunter with her excellent characters, dark and gritty story line, intrigue and suspense all wrapped up in this fast paced, page-turning thriller with twists and surprises along the way. All this and the use of social media excerpts, court and interview transcripts woven, throughout make this feel current and relevant.

This will not be my last of reading Ms Hunter's books and I highly recommend to those who enjoy police procedural/thrillers with complex story lines which are easy to follow and that are highly entertaining ... can't wait for book 5!

Thank you to Penguin Books (UK) and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest and unbiased review.

This was my first Cara Hunter book and I loved it! I couldn't put it down. This is the 4th book in a series but having not read the others it definitely works as a stand alone thriller as well.
There were so many twists and turns as the detectives worked through this case, and I loved how unpredictable it was. It was also a horrifying story of what people are capable of doing to each other.
I liked the way social media was used, as well as exploring how the amount of true crime shows currently being shown can affect an investigation. It made the story feel modern and relatable.
I found it to be a gripping thriller and will definitely be looking out for others in the series. Thankyou to netgalley and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A brilliant crime/mystery book that is bang up to date and relevant to today's society. It includes issues such as gender, sexuality, bullying, friendship and family.

The different perspectives help show how the investigation is proceeding, and as a reader you feel like you are part of the investigative team because you are with them every step of the way. The inclusion of emails, voicemails, maps and diary entries is an excellent way to keep the storytelling fresh and engaging. It also helps differentiate from the many other crime books out there at the moment.

I was kept guessing right to the end with many red herrings, twists and turns. I did feel that there was perhaps one twist too many as it went back and forth and I got to the point where I just wanted to know what had happened!

I'll definitely be going back to read the first three books in this series.

Thanks to Penguin, Netgalley and the author for the chance to read this advanced reading copy.

Another 5-star read from this author! A combination of intriguing gritty murder cases, and the detective work from DI Adam Fawley and his team, kept me gripped from start to finish!
With brilliantly written plotlines, great characters and some rather excellent twists, I can't wait for the next book in the series!

I have heard lots of good reviews of Cara Hunter books so was really happy to be accepted to read this copy through Netgalley. This copy was #4 in a series but still didn't disappoint. You could read this quite easy as a stand alone book, however after reading this I for one will be hunting down the first 3 to read and will be keeping my eye out on Netgalley for the next one. The book was easy to read , it jumped from various characters but wasn't confusing I always knew which character I was reading about. The story line was believable and had many twists and turns throughout.

This book was full of surprises and I loved it.

All The Rage is the fourth book in the DI Fawley series but it doesn't matter if you haven't read any of the previous books although, after reading this one I'm sure you will be eager to read the first three in the series. The story line grabbed me from the opening pages and I knew straight away I was in for a thrilling read. There are a host of characters that feature in this novel all of which are realistic and well developed.
The story flows beautifully with lots of subplots and some shocking twists that sneak up on you.

I particularly enjoyed the way the novel followed the police investigation giving me a real insight into how cases are explored and evidence gathered. I also liked reading the different accounts, reports, social media correspondence and court transcripts that weaved throughout the novel. For me finding these sections within the book added to my overall enjoyment and interest as you never knew what you would find on the next page. I really didn't want this book to end although I was keen to find out who the perpetrator was.

Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Books UK for allowing me to read a copy of this book before publication and to the author Cara Hunter for such an exciting and unpredictable novel. I will definitely be purchasing the other books in the DI Fawley series.

Would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this this gripping novel, not only could can cara hunter keep you engaged with the book she uses social media tags to highlight how we use them in our everyday life

A young girl is abducted and assaulted and it hints to previous cases that has had a perp jailed for 20 years ....is there a copycat or did they arrest the wrong person... plus the jailed perp is up for parole....or are they panicking over just one incident

Then a dead body of a young girl is found and it then things get interesting ..
Plenty of red herrings and loads of twists and turns before the perp or perps are identified but its a gripping book that will keep you up till you have finished it

This is cara hunter at her best..
Can’t wait for the next book in this series

Loved it! I have very much enjoyed the previous DI Fawley books, although I still have one to read. As with the other books in the series it reads well as a stand alone book, but fits great into the series at the same time.
I enjoyed the storyline, and the book kept me guessing right to the end. It is well written, and you just grow to love DI Fawley more with each book.
If you haven't read any Cara Hunter books, do yourself a favour and add some to your reading list.

Thanks to netgalley for a chance to read this book.

When one girl goes missing following another girls kidnap, imprisonment and attack it seems as though the person up for parole for similar crimes 18 years earlier is innocent. A book with lots of twists and turns, once you think you have figured out what happened there’s a twist that throws you off track.

Good read will definitely read more of this authors books.

The driver was shocked to see the young girl staggering as if she was drunk; but what he found was far worse than that. At her insistence he drove her home but ignored her entreaties not to call police. Detective Inspector Adam Fawley knew they had to tread carefully, but the witness was concerned and that was enough for him. Faith’s ordeal was horrifying but baffling while Fawley and his team were struggling without her cooperation.

As the parallels to a case some twenty years prior started to add up, Fawley knew he had to inform his team. But it was when another young woman went missing in exactly the same manner that the shock and uncertainty set in. Could it be possible he had got things so terribly wrong all those years ago? He was positive the right person was behind bars – so what was this about? Was it some copycat event? Or was it something far worse?

All the Rage is the 4th in the DI Adam Fawley series by Cara Hunter, and another intense and gripping psychological thriller that I enjoyed very much. Twists, red herrings, sly maneuvers – this one had it all. I’m looking forward to the next in the series. Highly recommended.

With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

My thanks to Penguin Books U.K. for an eARC via NetGalley of Cara Hunter’s ‘All the Rage’ in exchange for an honest review. It is already available in ebook and audiobook editions and will be published in paperback on 23 January 2020.

I obtained its audiobook edition and listened alongside reading the eARC for an immersive experience. It was again narrated by Emma Cunniffe and Lee Ingleby, who have narrated all the books to date.

This is the fourth in her extremely popular DI Adam Fawley series of police procedurals set in Oxford. It was a pleasure to read another case for DI Fawley and his team and again I was totally enthralled from start to finish.

As for the plot as with this type of novel I do believe it is best to read without too much prior information about what is contained within. It certainly kept me guessing.

Aside from the case in the present there are details linked to Fawley’s early career and marriage as well as a teaser for the future. Not a cliffhanger but a ‘watch this space’ notice.

I promise to be patient while Cara Hunter writes but I will be looking forward to reading more of this brilliant series of crime thrillers.

Highly recommended.

All the Rage by Cara Hunter
Despite the fact that I have not read other D I Fawley novels this did not affect my ability to enjoy this book. It worked very effectively as a stand-alone novel. Even though it refers to past events it was easy to pick up what was happening although reading the first 3 books might deepen your understanding of D I Fawley.
The novel opens with the abduction of Faith Appleyard but her reluctance to press charges or even be examined by the doctor make it difficult to pursue her attacker. Then the novel takes an interesting twist as the attack bears striking similarities to an earlier case of the Roadside Rapist. Gavin Parry, the Roadside Rapist, is currently up for parole and still maintaining his innocence. Doubt appears to be cast on this conviction and as D I Fawley was the prosecuting officer he has to be replaced on the current investigation.
This initial attack is followed by the disappearance of another girl, who bears a resemblance to Faith, and it is doubtful whether this will end so happily. The book deals very effectively with a number of issues which are in the media at the moment and it does so in a sensitive manner. The characters are well drawn and the storyline keeps you engaged and guessing as to who could have carried out an attack of such appalling violence. Cara Hunter is excellent at describing the minutiae of every day family life and she definitely has another success on her hands. Thanks to Penguin and Net Galley for the opportunity to read this novel in return for an honest review.

When a trans teenager is assaulted the Oxford police think that it is a hate crime. However certain aspects of the case make DI Adam Fawley wonder if the evil 'Roadside Rapist' that he put away 18 years before has come back to life. Then a teenage girl is murdered and the mo is exactly the same. Fawley is worried that there may have been a miscarriage of justice and that this hits very close to home.
Cara Hunter's DI Fawley books are always superior police procedurals. This one is no exception. While the plot is very straightforward the style of writing, with different narrators and incorporating social media etc, is a refreshing change in a very overcrowded genre.

BRILLIANT novel- twists and turns kept me guessing all the way through! Just when you think you’ve figured something out, there’s another curveball :-) Written engagingly and descriptively. It’s the first novel I’ve read from this author and I can’t wait to try more!

Just Wow!
What a ride,
Thoroughly loved this book, Cara has once again kept me on the edge of my seat while I read this.
Feel like there is more to come with that ending and cannot wait to read it.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review

A young girl is abducted not far from home, and physically assaulted. She is naturally traumatised and not overly willing to speak to the police about her ordeal. The crime however, bears all the hallmarks of "The Roadside Rapist" who Fawley and his team put away some 18 years previously. When another teenage girl goes missing in similar circumstances, they wonder was the right man convicted for the crimes 18 years previous, or is there a copycat out there? Fawley and his team are against the clock to find the missing girl and apprehend the perpetrator of these crimes.

We are back in the world of Adam Fawley and his team for book 4 in the series, and it is like meeting up again with old friends. Think how you feel when you watch Line of Duty on BBC, you're familiar with the police team and look forward to finding out what case they'll be handling next, along with the series to series continuous story running along in the background. I feel like this when I read about Fawley and the crew!

This is a really well written, page turning police procedural, full of suspense and clever twists and turns. I honestly had no idea who had carried out either crime and really enjoyed the final twists. I did feel a bit devastated by the behaviours of those involved as I thought more about the impact and consequences the crime would have on those involved and their family members. Almost as if it were a real scenario. That is how well Ms Hunter writes! Loved it. 5/5

All the Rage is published in the UK and Ireland on 23 January 2020.

Just my luck to read a book and not realise it’s book four in a series. After reading this I’m now wanting to read the previous books as All the Rage was so good. I found it can be read as a standalone but I wanna read more of DI Adam Fawley.

This was an excellent read. A twisted edge of your seat kinda read.
I read it in one day as I didn’t want to put it down... I just needed to read more.one of those stories where just one more chapter didn’t work.

If your looking for a well written police procedural story then I certainly recommend this story.
I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.
