This book has a brilliant plot which is both riveting and disturbing. The story is very dark but the pace gathers momentum and the last few chapters fairly gallop along and I found it hard to put down but it's definitely not for the faint hearted.
This is the third book I’ve read by this author and they keep getting better.
A clever suspenseful novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat and wanting to find out more.
I would definitely recommend this book to friends.
Awesome story with lots of twists to it, you are never quite sure what has happened and who is to blame and even when it starts to come out, you are still questioning it all...
This is a great addition to the DI Fawley series.
A girl has been attacked and found wandering the streets by a local taxi driver. She doesn’t want to speak to the Police at first and it soon becomes clear why.
Another girl is attacked and the investigation steps up a gear as the second girl is killed.
This is a fast paced and gripping storyline that definitely kept me hooked to the very end.
I can’t say too much more about the storyline as I don’t want to spoil it for you, but this is a great read.
This can be read as a stand-alone book but I can highly recommend the other books in the series as well.
Thanks to Penguin Books UK and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
This is another absolutely gripping, page turning, and cleverly written book, which surpasses the other three. I had to keep reading it, and once again, with Cara you just think you’ve sorted it all out in your mind, and she pulls the rug from underneath you.
It has a lot of moral issues in it, and I really don’t know what will happen in the next book. It’s such a difficult thing to deal with. I’m not saying any more, but read it you won’t be disappointed.
My thanks to Cara, the publishers and Netgalley for the ARC.
Unfortunately this novel just didn't do it for me. I felt it was too cliche and just another standard crime mystery book. It didn't captivate me at all.
There is a lot of competition in this genre now and you need to be entrancing with your work and I felt this missed the mark.
A young girl, faith is found dazed and hurt. She tells police she has beedn abducted, a bag placed over her head and an attempt to assault her was made. Faith has a secret she doesnt want made public so she is not very forthcoming. Adam Fawley is in charge of the case and is under a lot of pressure as an old case has resurfaced and bears a lot of similarities to Faiths case. Then another girl goes missing in similar circumstances, The press and the powers that be are putting Fawley under more and more pressure. There are a lot of suspects with motives and opportunities so it all gets very complicated.
A great read from Cara Hunter with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Thank you Cara Hunter, Penguin Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I enjoy good crime fiction, All the Rage is definitely great crime fiction. Riveting with interesting characters and an unpredictable plot, I couldn’t put it down. Now I’m reading the first in the series; Close to Home, I’ll read them all.
I have read all the series of books about Adam Fawley and this is definitely the best. I really enjoyed it and although it made for sad reading it was a book that really pulled you in.
A thriller of a read. Fast paced with lots of twists and turns. Based around a girl who has been abducted and suffered a horrific assault. The detective in charge recognises the "MO" of the attack from his past but it can't be the same man who committed this crime, or could it? Another girl goes missing and the race is on.
As I said, lots of twists and turns and red herrings to throw the reader off. I didn't guess the ending at all so the author did a great job of keeping me hooked right until near the end.
Totally believable storyline and characters.
I haven't read anything previously from this author but I would definitely like to after reading this. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review. Highly recommended.
The fourth book in the series about DI Fawley begins with a horrendous assault, and the tension never stops. By now DI Fawley and his story are familiar to the reader and we are emotionally invested in him. The investigation which forms the main part of the story is sinister and intriguing, told from a variety of perspectives and never slowing down in pace. A highly recommended detective thriller.
Where do I start with this book...?? It's been a long time since I read a really good police procedural type book. Thank you Cara Hunter for reminding me of how good they can be if really done well - and how much I love this genre! My mind was so busy throughout the whole time I was reading this as I flitted between theories and hypotheses of who might have been behind the crimes. A good book keeps you guessing and has you kicking yourself mentally when it takes an unexpected twist or turn.
This is one of those books where I can't give it full justice in a review because it will give away quite a bit. But Cara Hunter carefully handles current themes, hate crimes, jealousy, family, gender and more in this book whilst also describing very realistic and carefully researched police procedures. I absolutely love the way it's written - short snappy chapters from different characters perspectives that almost ALWAYS end on a cliff hanger.
I should also add, I've never read anything by Cara Hunter before - this is the first book! Thanks to NetGalley I received a free advanced copy in exchange for an honest and impartial review. This is book #4 in the DI Adam Fawley series and I can safely say that whether you've read the series or not, this book will still make perfect sense and can absolutely be a standalone. However, if you're anything like me you'll finish this and be desperate to go and read the others now!
What a fantastic new book in the Alex Fawley series (although you could read it as a standalone). A really good storyline that had lots of wee twists and kept you reading on right until the end. Very happy to recommend that it is read!

Faith is a beautiful young girl, writing a blog about fashion and make up. she lives with her mum and sister and they have recently moved and started a new school. Then Faith is abducted , assaulted but she escapes and is picked up by a taxi driver. faith doesn't want the incident reported but the taxi driver is concerned and reports it.
DC Erica Somer is in charge of the investigation but what is Faith and her family hiding?
Then another girl goes missing but will she be as lucky? Is it a copy cat abduction or something else?
Erica has to solve this as it involves work colleagues . Is there a connection and if so can she uncover it?
This will keep you guessing to the end - Brilliant
This was yet another rollercoaster of a read which made my head spin (in a good way) with so many wonderful twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting.
As with Hunter’s previous books “All The Rage” continues to follow DI Fawley and his team working on an investigation, which involves a school girl, that has been attacked and found wondering the streets, in a bad way by a local cab driver. But just as the team are investigating this case another school girl disappears, and DI Fawley wonders if these crimes are linked to a case he worked on 20 years ago.
Yet again this is a wonderfully written book with a fast paced and gripping storyline that definitely kept me turning pages to the very end. What I love about all the books in the series, is the way we get multiple social media messages, interview transcripts, maps and emails inserted in between the story. This really brings the book to life.
With each book I can see the characters developing and growing in strength, and love following their growth throughout the series.
This was a perfect crime read for me. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you’re looking for intense and utterly gripping read. If you have never read Cara Hunter’s book it’s not to worry as you could read this one as a standalone, but I strongly suggest you start from the first book “Close To Home” so you can get to know DI Fawley and his team from the very start.
Cara Hunter is very quickly becoming one of my favourite crime writers, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I would like to thank the publishers Penguin Books UK and NetGalley for my eARC in return for an honest and unbiased review.
OMG what a brilliant book! Number 4 in the DI Adam Fawley series and it just gets better and better.
One thing I've learned from these books is to expect the unexpected.
This book had so many twist and turns my head is still reeling!
Expect to lose yourself in this cracking thriller. I was reading into the early hours as I couldn't bear to stop reading.
The cliffhangers at the end of the chapters made sure of that.
Cannot recommend this book highly enough.
I didn't realise this was part of a series. I have never read this author before but I am going to look for all her books in future. Very well written and the story had me guessing all the way through.
A sharply written and gripping murder story. The way that the texts of the police interviews and the texts of emails between the novel's characters are reproduced verbatim adds yet more tension to the storyline. The numerous suspects all seem plausible and I doubt many readers shall attribute the murder correctly before the answer actually is revealed. All the Rage may just cause a ripple of concern amongst those TV channels that put out programmes that, with a view to questioning the verdict handed down, provide forensic detail of how certain notorious murders were carried out. Not all viewers of such programmes are passive. You have been warned!
My thanks to Netgalley for my copy of All the Rage.
Yet another gripping police drama from Cara Hunter which can also be read as a standalone novel. In my book she can do no wrong, once again she delivers a brilliant plot which keeps you on your toes right to the end. The cast of this Adam Fawley series are so well written and with each book their individual characters become a little more defined . My only problem is with Alex Fawley who I have no affinity with and I couldn't understand why until I realised that I am probably a bit taken with Adam myself.
I believe that Cara Hunter is one of our best crime writers at this moment in time; her style is increasingly engaging and her plots are twisted and full of intrigue and yet ultimately believable. I totally recommend this book to anyone who likes a police drama conundrum.
