This is a well constructed, British Police crime thriller. The story ingeniously leads the the reader down many different blind alleys before enough evidence is eventually found to solve the crime.

Teenage girl, Faith Appleyard is found wandering the streets in a disheveled state by a local taxi driver. He tips off the police and when they go to see her she says she doesn't want to take things further. With the lack of cooperation their hands are tied. When a second girl goes missing DI Fawley and the Team need to investigate to see if these crimes are connected.

There's a striking resemblance to the Roadside Rapist case which put Gavin Parry away for life. DI Fawley was the arresting officer who sent him down. Now it's wondered if there's been a miscarriage of justice. DI Fawley is pulled from the case and DI Ruth Gallagher is brought in. Of course, Adam Fawley does a little investigating of his own. His wife (whom he met after the case) was a victim of Parry's and her evidence brought him down.

The race is on to find out who is behind the crimes and the story is twisty, fast paced, un-put-downable and the twist at the end, Oh wow I never saw that coming! Can't wait for book #5. This is my first read by Cara Hunter but I'm planning to go back and start at the beginning. So recommend.

This was my first book by Cara Hunter and maybe it was her style of writing but it took me a few chapters to get into the story. There seemed to be a lot of characters right from the start. But once the characters developed in the story, the pace sped up and I really enjoyed the story. Plenty of twists and unexpected turns which ensures you can’t guess the ending! A good read.

I’d like to thank Penguin Books UK and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘All The Rage’ by Cara Hunter in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

A taxi driver picks up teenager Faith Appleyard wandering through the streets of Oxford and reports it to the police. The story of what’s been done to her is so horrific that when a second teenager Sasha Blake goes missing the crimes appear similar to those committed by Gavin Parry, the Roadside Rapist, who’s been in prison for eighteen years. DI Adam Fawley and his team believe it’s either a copy cat killer or Gavin Parry wasn’t responsible for the previous crimes. DI Ruth Gallagher is brought in to lead the investigation but it doesn’t stop Adam from becoming involved.

As soon as I started reading ‘All The Rage’ I felt as if I was part of a genuine police procedural investigation with the addition of excitement, suspense, tension, twists and turns and red herrings thrown in to confuse. What makes it particularly stand out is the way it’s been written with Twitter postings and in-depth interviews with suspects, and once started I found it impossible to stop reading. Cara Hunter is an exceptionally talented writer who brings excitement and suspense into each novel and I have no hesitation in recommending this thriller which is worthy of five stars.

Hmmm, I just didn't get this book at all...it had a pedestrian pace at the beginning and, although it contained some twists, they all seemed 'placed' rather too conveniently throughout...compared to other books by Cara I just don't feel this was up to the mark.

I found this book to be like the proverbial description of a football match - a game (aka book) of two halves. The first half was to me a typical police crime thriller with nothing special, but then bang - the second half gripped me and turned the book into a superb read.
I love Cara's approach - the clever use of interwoven social media, interviews, calls etc. Also Cara breaks from the traditional format i.e. one chapter/section per character(s) by intermixing short, 1-2 page texts and then onto something else. Can be somewhat difficult to follow but adds so much to the book.
I don't think the book quite reaches the brilliant Close To Home but is definitely well worth reading. My review of Close To Home, which I thought for me was pretty good, was selected by the publisher for a front cover inclusion. However when I opened the book there was only one word 'WOW' !! Hardly my 15 minutes of fame
A very clever end to the whodunnit and I didn't get anywhere near solving it. However judging by the epilogue which will presumably lead to the 5th in the series in 2021 I got the 2 mixed up. Can't explain anymore just read it and then wait for the next book

I’ve really enjoyed the last three books in this series so I was delighted to receive an advance copy from netgalley.

This one needs to be devoured in one go. So twisty and clever! The police characters are believable and well developed across the series. I enjoyed the change in voice and the narration of DI Fawley.

The storyline is centred around a worrying attack on a young girl. I felt that sensitive subject matter was handled very delicately and issues involved were pertinent to current issues.

The police procedural elements of the book are well written and presented in a range of media which maintains interest.

I was gripped by this story and all of its compelling twists and turns. I’m eagerly awaiting the next in the series!

Grabbed off the street a teenage girl is found dazed, distressed and is found wandering around near Oxford by a taxi driver after surviving an awful attack. Faith who is a beautiful art student is saved after the perpetrator flees the crime scene after hearing police sirens.
She was grabbed, plastic bag over her head and driven to an isolated location assaulted and then dumped - yet she doesn't want to press charges? Why? In fact she shies away from talking to the police.
Faith Apple yard thought she was going to die and although she has been beaten, lives to see another day. Sasha Blake unfortunately doesn't survive.
I havent read the three previous books in the DI Adam Fawley series and I didn't need too to follow this story. But I will be revisiting these characters as I loved them. They work hard chasing leads and leaving no stone unturned.
The cases have some similarities to the Rapist who has been serving twenty years for carrying out the 'roadside rapes' - is this copycat or did they put the wrong person away? Gavin Parry always maintained that he is innocent.
Dealing with issues such as gender reassignment and rape the novel mainly is seen through the eyes of DI Fawley and his team and the characters shine through with plenty of back story info.

Fast paced, intense and so many red herrings I did not see the end coming. Cara Hunter you got me and I intend to be looking out for your books in the future.

Thank you Net Galley and Penguin Books in the UK for the ARC.

I have been looking forward to the release of the next instalment in the Adam Fawley series from the moment I finished the last one, and as always Cara Hunter has ticked all the boxes I want in a detective thriller.
The subject matter is as shocking as ever, but so totally different from the previous novels but with the constant thread of the detective team's professional and personal lives tying all the novels together in a subtle manner that you feel like you are part of the team.
A young student has been attacked at the bus stop as she waited to go to college and has been resistant to reporting the assault. Once Fawley and his team are involved though, she slowly but surely helps them with the details of what she went through. and it comes to light that this assault may not have been as random as they first thought.
Meanwhile Fawley is having to face ghosts of his past as they resurface and impact on his involvement in this case. Is it possible that he and the team got things so wrong years ago that they jailed the wrong man? Can the team find the culprit before anyone else is attacked? And why do I have question marks in my mind regarding the newest member of the team who seems to be holding back on something despite being absolutely sharp as a tack in the investigation?
I love the way Cara Hunter uses social media posts interspersed in the prose to reflect public response to the story she is telling. That and her ability to throw in perfectly timed twists and eyebrow raising bombshells make Cara one of the top authors in her genre of recent years. There are sufficient unanswered questions to lead us into another instalment without feeling that the current case has been left unsolved and as always I am left wanting to move straight on to the next book which I know I will have to wait a few months for. That to me is one of the biggest signs of a successful writer, to get that balance absolutely spot on.
Top notch writing once again means this is bound to hit the top of the bestsellers list straight away.

With thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the arc, which I have enjoyed reading.
This is the fourth book in the D I Adam Fawley series by Cara Hunter and it was a totally engrossing read. It was a psychological thriller, but the police were investigating the assault of one teenager and the murder of a second teenage girl. It was similar to the Roadside Rapist crimes that DI Fawley investigated 20 years ago and the man found guilty was up for parole and release. It was a very clever storyline and at times there was plenty of false information to keep the police team distracted from the real culprits of the crimes they were investigating.
An enthralling read. The series just gets better which each book.
Highly recommended

This is the first book I have read from the author, first impressions were positive and I will certainly look for some more books in the series. Based around Oxford, a number of the locations struck a cord as I am a fan of The Morse series. DCI Fawley heads up a tight loyal team and there was plenty of interaction between all the main characters. I can't spoil the ending as it may put potential readers off but it was shocking in all honesty. As with any books there are a number of red herrings but everything comes together as you read through the chapters. This is a back story to the case being investigated which further muddies the waters, in a suspenseful sense. Would definitely recommend, can't comment on cost as I got as a review copy through NetGalley.

I look forward to every instalment of the Fawley series and this was definitely no exception. The worst part about it was that it had to end! I was absolutely gripped from start to finish and just couldn’t see how it was going to turn out. I don’t want to put too much pressure on Cara considering this one hasn’t even been released yet but....when’s the next one out 😂. Brilliant and highly recommended. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and Penguin for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

A modern police investigative thriller full of puzzling suspense and intrigue around moral dilemmas that will and should propel this book to bestseller status. All the Rage is a crime drama that conjures a complex plot with crafted layers of surprise and misdirection at every turn.

Faith Appleyard is a teenager who was abducted in a van and brought to an allotment where she was physically abused with a bag placed over her head and a clump of her hair pulled from the back of her head. It seems that the only way she survived was when police sirens disturbed the attacker. Such a brutal unprovoked attack leaves deep scars and psychological turmoil that has its own unique context. Not long after the attack on Faith, another teenager, Sasha Blake goes missing. Sasha is part of a close-knit group of friends that have known each other most of their lives. Patsie, Isabel and Leah make up the tight group that is very popular and often referred to as LIPS. The despair and heartbreak from Sasha's mother are delicately and masterfully written with fantastic emotional awareness.

DI Adam Fawley and his formidable team of detectives are brought into the investigation of both young women. The team of DS Gislingham, DC Everett, DC Somer, DC Baxter and DC Quinn are joined by a new member, DC Anthony Asante. As the investigation into Sasha continues there is an emerging link between the two abductions and Fawley’s apprehension is mounting and clearly causing him distress. A previous case involving a sexual predator, Gavin Parry, haunts Fawley as he was the DS who managed to secure a conviction. The anguish is that Parry, known as The Roadside Rapist, had the same MO of forcing a plastic bag over the women’s heads, dragging them into a white van and pulling hair from their heads as souvenirs. Parry is still in jail but has always contested his innocence and accused Fawley of framing him. The uncertainty and suspicion mount that perhaps they have sentenced the wrong man and perhaps underhandedly.

Cara Hunter delivers the perfect balance in a crime series where the background stories of many of the characters continue to intrigue while the crime and its multiple subplots are always handled with purpose. Try skipping a few pages and you’ll find yourself either lost or missing something important, which shows just how effectively she maintains a riveting momentum throughout.

Cara’s observations create little shades of personality that contribute to the plot and the theatre of interactions. The attention to detail that she shows in the character development and their subconscious reactions within discussions and relationships draws such appealing multi-textured characters that are enthralling.

All the Rage integrates the mechanisms than Cara’s other books have engrained in our expectations – a first-person perspective from Adam Fawley, and the use of social media and other formats for recording chatter, news, interviews, telephone transcriptions etc. It’s like watching a master weave all the elements that breathe life into a fully formed treasure. I enjoy her stories immensely and I hope she continues on this mesmerising path.

I highly recommend reading this book and I would like to thank Cara Hunter, Penguin Book UK and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC version in return for an honest review.

I absolutely love this series by Cara Hunter, so was delighted to get the chance to read the fourth book in the DI Adam Farley series. Although this can be read as a stand-alone novel. It would work better if you have read at least the first two books in the series.

This one is an edge of your seat read, with many twists and turns that will just have your head spinning. I love that these books are set in Oxford, and the Thames Valley Police Force. With a lot of suspects thrown at you, trying to work out what is going on, who is the perpetrator. Cara Hunter definitely knows how to tell a story.

Teenager Faith Appleton is found wandering the streets, it’s obvious she has been attacked but she is initially an unwilling victim, which doesn’t help any kind of investigation. But then another teenager Sasha Blackford goes missing, DI Farley believes that the two cases are linked to a past case.

The story is told in different narratives first person from Fawley, and third person narratives mostly from the team, but others as well, I actually enjoy how this works. I’m not a lover of all first person. Some real crime bits have been cleverly moulded into this storyline, and if you are someone who follows any true crime documentaries etc you may spot them or not.

I would like to thank #netgalley and #Penguinbooks for an eARC of this book in exchange for a fair, honest and unbiased review.

There are more personal things going on in Adam Fawleys story, and his narrative makes it feel that more real. There may be secrets revealed. He is a very complex character, but I really like him, he is relatable. It’s so good when you have good characters and this series has certainly never disappointed on that front. A great police procedural.

I can’t wait for book 5 in the series now. Another successful read from this talented writer.

All the Rage is an excellent addition to the DI Fawley series written by Cara Hunter. The plot is strong with a solid mystery at the center of the story. The writing is engaging. The character's individual stories move forward. Readers looking for a great mystery series following the same detectives should try out the DI Fawley series. Highly recommended to mystery readers.

Wow,just wow. Utterly gripping. Unbelievable to think your so called best friends would do that. Having a 16yr old daughter myself, left me truly gobsmacked! What a gripping book from start to finish.

Having read the previous DI Fawley books I was delighted to be given the opportunity to read the 4th installment. I enjoy Cara Hunter's writing style and this book did not disappoint. The description of the on going police procedures and investigations make the story unfold in a unique way. No spoilers suffice to say it is a page turner.

I love the first three books in the DI Fawley series and I was excited to get stuck into the most recent offering. It helped knowing the characters and their relationships from the previous books, but it wasn't imperative to have read them and I could have read this as a stand-alone novel (although I don't think I would have enjoyed it quite as much).

The story had lots of twists and turns which kept my interest piqued, but I did start to find it a little frustrating how characters would realise something and the reader was kept in the dark until a few pages later. I understand that this adds to the suspense in the story but by the end of the book, I would have liked to find out alongside the characters/ Having said this, this is my only gripe about the book and I would recommend reading it as part of the DI Fawley series

For the reason above, I gave the book a respectable 4/5 stars and I am definitely looking forward to reading more of Cara Hunter's work.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.
