Cara Hunter has done it again.

This 4th Adam Fawley novel is probably one of my favorite reads of the year. The story itself is extremely cleverly written and there are plot twists upon plot twists.
At one point, I thought I knew what had happened, but I was completely wrong. I truly enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to anyone.

Cara hunter is fast becoming an author to watch

The di fawley series is a amazing. I look forward to her books every time I see that a new one has been released

This one did not disappoint. I absolutely loved this book

Again cara goes the extra mile with the newspaper articles and the interviews (although these did not show up the best on the kindle)

The storyline was excellent as normal.

I am just sad that I have to wait for the next round of di fawley

I never repeat the blurb.
This was another superb DI Fawley mystery, great contemporary themes as usual and full of unexpected polt developments.
I just continue to get slightly aggravated by the social media commentary on the plot which really isn't necessary and the lack of actual 'chapters'.
Won't put me off the next one though, whenever that may be,

Have read Cara Hunters previous books and this one certainly didn’t disappoint.

A young girl is abducted from the street and subjected to a terrifying assault. She manages to escape but is reluctant to let the police investigate. DI Adam Fawley and his trusted team Somers, Everett and Gislingham begin to look into it but why are there are similarities to a historic case of Adam’s and what does this mean for him and the public he is meant to protect. Fab book thank you Cara.

All The Rage (DI Fawley Book 4)
Author: Cara Hunter
Publishers: Penguin UK
Publication Date: 26/12/19

I read the first of Cara Hunter’s DI Fawley books last year, swiftly followed by books 2 & 3. This is the best yet. Tautly plotted, twisty, with a great final reveal, it kept me guessing all the way through. We also get to find out more about Adam Fawley and his wife, and there are some surprises there too. A great police novel., absolutely recommended.

Thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for providing me with this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased review

Cara Hunter has completely nailed this genre.
I have read all of her previous novels and was really looking forward to this one almost to the point where I was prepared to cut her some slack if it wasn’t on par with those but she absolutely delivered once again.
‘All the Rage’ is one of those books that robs you of your sleep, makes you consider scenarios that shouldn’t belong in your mind and forces a race against the battery in your kindle.
I eventually finished this at 2am with 16% left, then lay awake for a further hour mulling it all over.
The plot is pacy, tight, exciting and tidy and there isn’t a single loose end.
Further applause comes for adding to an existing back story so cleverly yet still managing to make this work incredibly well as a stand alone novel. I don’t know many authors that can do this so effectively.
Many thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity and to Ms Hunter for the sheer entertainment.
When is the next one please?

As I said in a previous review, I’m a huge fan of Cara Hunter’s Adam Fawley series, and was really excited to get an early copy through Netgalley of her third book. Of course, the problem with getting an early copy is having to wait extra long for the next in a series, which means waiting until December for number four. Luckily for me the Netgalley gods took pity on me, giving me access several months early – and if this means next time I’ll may need to wait fifteen months that’s a consequence worth taking. Because All The rage is Hunter’s best book yet.

A girl is brutally attacked and Fawley and his team have to work out whether it’s a targeted hate crime or a potential serial rapist on the loose. There are worrying parallels with a case Fawley worked on nearly twenty years ago, a case that still haunts him and even more worryingly, the man convicted all those years ago still maintains his innocence. With a TV documentation looking into those claims, any hint they got it wrong immediately becomes public scrutiny. So when a second girl goes missing the pressure is on.

One of the real joys and strengths of this series is the team Fawley has built around him. Every character is beautifully drawn with all their strengths, weaknesses and quirks. I also really enjoy the way Hunter writes from so many different points of view, giving the reader a real-time view as the plot unfolds and ensuring we get to know every constable, sergeant, witness and suspect in great depth. Her inclusion of social media gives the book modern day relevance, showcasing humanity in all its gossipy and judgemental ways. All The Rage is shocking, twisty and unputdownable, with an end I didn’t see coming, as tragic as it is clever. A brilliant read, highly recommended.

Interesting story lines, great plots. Intriguing end to one case inconclusive end to the sub story, maybe a continuation in the future. I did find it confusing jumping from one story line to the other, however still a good read.

Current, nail biting and twisty. Cara Hunter's DS Fawley series just gets better and better. This series really takes a fresh and interesting approach to your average police crime procedural. Dive in!

Don’t start this book if you have a list of things you should be doing!! The prologue sucks you in and the pages keep turning. The story expertly leads you in one direction then another and you keep up easily and find yourself when not reading wondering who it could be and why! This is my second Cara Hunter book and I shall be looking to read her next and back catalogue.

A young woman called Faith is attacked, it first appears to be an attempted murder but then looks to be a hate crime. DI Fawley is on the case with his usual team. He’s working hard to solve this crime which has copycat similarities to a previous serial killer, the ‘Roadise Rapist’. This previous case is extremely close to DI Fawley and his wife. Another young lady has gone missing and the community starts to suspect that they caught the wrong guy and the real ‘Roadside Rapist’ is still at large.
.
Cara Hunter does it again, the queen of crime thrillers. Is it me or do her books just get better and better? I’ve love reading the DI Fawley books, his character progression and storylines through the books are brilliant. I was struggling to put this down and ended up reading it in the bath, whilst eating my tea and whilst my partner was watching a film. I was actually a little shocked by the ending. The epilogue makes me desperate for her next book!
.
The only negative is that there were some issues with the imaging formats but Netgalley are already aware and fixing it. Once it’s fixed I will have another browse so I can see them.

Cara Hunter is the only crime/thriller author i've read where each new installment lives up to the previous one; in fact I think her books just keep getting better and better, and each one leaves me with chills. This one was no different and I was utterly hooked as soon as I started this book. Cara Hunter manages to write a really gripping police procedural drama about horrific crimes but it never seems outlandish and always seems to be within the realms of possibility. As horrific the actions of the characters in this book, I could really imagine this happening, and that is what puts Cara a foot above the rest.

This story starts with Faith; a young teenage girl who is found wandering the streets; beaten and crying, but refuses to tell anyone what has happened. What the detectives quickly come to learn is that Faith is transgender but no-one outside of her family; based on this information they begin to think this was a hate crime however when another teenage girl goes missing they must re-think the motivations of the criminal. I felt that the topic was dealt with really sensitively when it could have been a real mess. When the second teenage girls body is found, Fawley must confront the fact that a man he put away years ago for rape and murder might just be innocent. But Fawley is confident that he had the right man, and we soon learn that he has a personal stake in this outside of his job. What happens throughout the rest of the book is a number of twists and turns, but all of which seem to be believable and really had me hooked. The last bits of the book where the reveals start to come out had me shocked to the core and I could not stop reading. I'm not actually going to say anymore about the twists but it really chilled and horrified me.

I literally did not see any of the twists coming and each one had me even more shocked; the reveal of first who attacked Faith, but then who attacked Sasha had me on the edge of my seat and had me utterly flabbergasted. It utterly chilled me but I had no idea it was coming. We also get to know more about Fawley's past in this book and it really developed his character further which I loved... it's also set us up some threads for future books which I think will be really interesting when they come into play. I also enjoyed again that his colleagues got to come to the forefront of this story again and we get to know a little bit more about each of them; especially Somer who is becoming one of my favourites.

I think what really amazes me is that this book is full of different threads and each character is utterly independent with their own backstory and growth, but it never becomes confusing and the story is always easy to follow. I also enjoy that we only find out things as the police find them out as it really adds to the tension of the story.

I am now really tempted to re-read at least her first book. Overall this is an utterly amazing read and I would whole-hardheartedly recommend this book, and the entire series to EVERYONE. You will not regret it one bit.

I'd not read any Cara Hunter books when I got this one so I wasn't sure quite what to expect. This is a tale about a teenage girl who is found wandering in a distressed state by a taxi driver. She claims that it was just a prank but the story she tells suggests something rather different. She refuses to press charges so one of the first things is to find out why. When another girl goes missing the case takes on additional dimensions. Is this a serial offender and could it possibly be linked to an old case that DI Fawley was involved in.

The book follows DI Fawley and his team as they try to make sense of the events surrounding these cases. The book successfully drags you this way and that. It allows you to say - "Ah maybe it's xxx" and then promptly reverse the thought which is decent enough in this sort of story. The involvement of the old case worked well for me too. It kept me wanted to return to the story.

I confess I found this fairly readable with interesting characters involved in it. There were twists, turns and red herrings enough to keep me entertained. I think maybe I would have got into the story more quickly had I read the previous books but it works well enough as a standalone book for me. My slight irritation was with the writing style. I found the sections rather disjointed and often found that I had no idea who the section I was reading was about. The use of modern aspects in the text such as webchats and twitter was something I'd not really come across much before but didn't particularly bother me.

I'll certainly read another earlier Cara Hunter when I get the chance as overall, I enjoyed it. It's a decent enough "police thriller". However, other than the style of presentation ,I'm just not quite sure how long the book will stay with me. I guess it never quite got under my skin.

Not going to lie, still brilliant but not quite on par with the previous books. No real motive for killing earlier in novel, which is a big no no for 'whodunnit' fans; honestly there was no breadcrumb trail that you could follow to discover the murderer. Enjoyed the Fawley back story, but having invested so much in him as an honest cop, I was slightly disappointed. Maybe felt a bit rushed, as if publication was earlier than the author wanted. As an aside, much as I enjoy the use of timetables, emails etc in a printed book, it doesn't come across the same way in an ebook and became slightly annoying. I'm sorry if this comes across as a negative review, but I absolutely love these Fawley novels by Caro Hunter and this was not the best of them.

Oh my goodness, where do I start!
Cara Hunter is one of my absolute favourite authors. With this fourth instalment, in the DI Adam Fawley series, she did not disappoint!
I don't know how she does it, but right from the very beginning, she had me hooked.
The story begins with a girl found wandering the streets in a clear state of distress and it is obvious that she has been through something terribly traumatic, although she doesn't want to discuss it or press charges.
The story is very in keeping with today's society and has issues which many people are probably facing right now, Cara handles it beautifully and in a very well-informed manner.
Whilst the team are investigating the first case, another girl disappears in similar circumstances and it is clear they must act fast.
It all points to a possible link to a historical case Fawley worked on many years ago, but how could it? He put the right person away, didn't he?
There were so many threads all leading in different directions that left me guessing constantly; I felt that I was against the clock, trying to find out the truth. I was amazed that she didn't drop a single thread: nothing was left unsolved!
I love the way she incorporates the police procedural investigation into her stories as well as the Twitter feeds. This really builds up the tension and you, the reader, really feel like you are part of the team.
I actually feel like Cara's books get better and better each time, I couldn't put this down and seriously can't wait until the next one!
Full of twists and turns: some so shocking that you won't see them coming.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Penguin & Cara Hunter for my ARC in return for my honest review.

Fashion student Faith Appleford is found by a taxi driver stumbling down the road, something has happened to her but she will not admit to being attacked and refuses to cooperate with the police, Adam Fawley and his team know there is more to her alleged attack than meets the eye but without her cooperation they are unable to proceed any further, however when another girl goes missing the attack is linked and an investigation underway

A cracking plot which does keep you guessing all the way through

I would highly recommend this well written detective novel. I read it in one sitting and couldn't put it down. This is the fourth book in the series, and I had read the first three. It was great to find out more about the familiar characters, who are all quite different individuals but who blend well into a team. This time DI Adam Fawley's part is in the first person narrative, so we read those parts from his individual perspective. We continue to learn more about his home life, with a surprising revelation or two. There is a strong plot with plenty of twists and turns. Despite reading lots of crime fiction, I didn't guess the ending, which makes this book 5 star for me.

Although crime is my favourite genre, I find it incredibly hard to find authors that match up to my admittedly exacting standards, Many thrillers are too silly and far-fetched, while my preferred police procedurals can be too plodding or with too much emphasis on the personal dramas of the investigative team. Discovering Cara Hunter, then, was like an answer to my prayers: a police procedural, but properly gripping and well written, with the pacing of a thriller yet always within the realms of possibility. And All The Rage more than lives up to the promise of her first three novels. We're back with DI Adam Fawley's team in Oxford as they investigate an attack on a teenage girl and the disappearance of another girl, which may be linked to a potential miscarriage of justice from Fawley's past. As always with Hunter, the plot is packed full of twists which make it impossible to predict what will come next. And I really appreciated her sensitive and well-informed handling of a narrative strand involving transgender. Overall a fantastic read, very highly recommended. Fans of Caz Frears or Angela Marsons will find much to enjoy here (although I much prefer Hunter's writing).

4.5/5⭐ !!

Another great book by The Thriller Queen.

I have read and loved all previous Cara Hunter books and they never disappoint me.

All The Rage wasn't gonna be less than the rest!

I loved every single bit about this book.

I love every character, even Quinn by now, and it was so good to know about them again.

I love Erica Somer. She is such a hard worker. I am so glad all her work paid off in this book too!

I loved the introduction of Ruth Gallagher's character and how well she dealt with the situation. The relationship within the team is so healthy that it's impossible not to care about them.

The first case was a very tricky one. They were dealing with such a delicate issue that I was scared. It was talked about with so much care and respect that I was very surprised!

The second one shocked me! I couldn't see the connection between the two of them but, of course, the team got there and solved it, didn't they?

I loved to know a bit more about Adam's personal life (present and past) and how his relationship with his wife is.

And that epilogue... What?? Can't wait for the next one!!

The 4th instalment of Cara Hunter's - DI Adam Fawley and his team

I could not put this down, it's fast paced, completely gripping
Full of crafty twists and turns throughout
And a little cliff hanger at the end.

If you haven't read Cara Hunter - where have you been.

Thank you netgalley, Cara Hunter and Penguin for allowing me to read and review this book.
