This book kept me completely hooked from start to finish. With more twists and turns than a frightening rollercoaster, I was kept on edge and gasping with every sentence.
As always, Cara Hunter’s use of images (maps, screenshots of texts, tweets) really took this story to the next level as a fantastic, modern novel.
Utterly fantastic.
Another fantastic installment in the DI Adam Fawley Series. Another great story line, which had me hooked from beginning to end. Can’t wait for the next one.
My thanks to Net Galley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is Book 4 in the DI Adam Fawley detective series. I have just finished reading books 2,3 and 4 back to back. Oh my word this series just keeps on getting better and better. All the Rage was another brilliant read in this series. Right from the very start I was gripped. DI Adam Fawley and his team are on a mission to find the person who abducted and badly hurt a young girl and whilst this is all going on another young girl goes missing. Are these cases connected ? This book was a rollercoaster of a ride, one minute I suspected one person and the next another. So many twists and turns i was holding my breath at times. So excited now to read Book 5 .
Another cracking read from Cara Hunter. I am never disappointed! An interesting plot which took a very different turn to what i first expected. Lots of twists and turns. Can't wait for the next one!
This novel is gripping from the start.
A teenage girl is attacked, but refuses to cooperate with the police on finding her attacker. At first DI Adam Fawley is at a loss to understand why, but soon it becomes all too clear why she is resisting their help. But then another girl goes missing...
I just love this series. The mixture of first and third person narrative, dotted with extracts of media, both journalistic and social feels fresh and innovative everytime. The story has enough twists and turns to satisfy the most demanding crime thriller fan. A well deserved five stars.
I had never read a book by Cara Hunter before, and I enjoyed this one. I would read other books written by her in the future.
I don't think it's necessary to copy and past the book jacket info because you can all read that for yourself. So, on to my experience of reading this book....it took me ages to finish because I have been working such long hours that I kept falling asleep 15 minutes after starting to read. Despite this, the pace of the plot kept me hooked and it was easy to pick up the thread each time. The characters are so robust that they nearly leap from the pages which helped too. There are some tricky topics embedded within the plot such as teenage exploration of gender identity, and the further reaching implications and impact of this plus just how far families will go to protect, and destroy each other.
I haven't read anything by ms Hunter in a while, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the book is just as addictive and thrilling as I remember!! This was a very entertaining read, keeping the reader guessing until the end !
Another fantastic instalment in the DI Adam Fawley Series. Another great storyline, which had me hooked from beginning to end. Can’t wait for the next one.
Having read all of the books Cara has written from book one (even getting my review in the first one) I could not wait to read the latest book. Once again the book is well written and keeps the reader guessing right up to the end. Some books make it easy to guess "who done it" never the case with this author.
The actual killing is pretty gruesome but again unlike others it is about finding the killer not racking up the body count.
If you like your murders mysterious then pick up this book and give it a go.
I love the style of these Adam Fawley books. Everything fits together so well and the different evidence included grips you. I couldn't stop reading. Twists that were unexpected suspicions confirmed and lots of surprises along the way. Can't wait for the next one.
I really enjoyed this book, this was my first Cara Hunter book and I am really glad that I picked it up. The plot was fast paced from the beginning, there was no holding back. The introduction to the characters was great, especially Adam Fawley. Having not read any of Cara Hunters previous books, I did not feel like I was missing anything and the characters were really well developed.
The plot kept me gripped and I had no idea where it was going, the twists and turns were brilliant, and the long pauses between finding out things worked really well. The atmosphere was great and I couldn't put this down and I kept thinking about going back to it when I wasn't reading it.
I am looking forward to reading more by Cara Hunter
This is the 4th book I've read in the DI Fawley series. To start with, I was thinking it wasn't as good or fast paced as the other 3 before it. It is a bit slow to get off the ground, but when it does, its a complete roller-coaster. I was thinking "they did it" or "they did it" only to be completely wrong. As a mother of a 15 year old girl, it was uncomfortable to read in some places. As with all the DI Fawley books, its so cleverly written, I enjoy Cara Hunters writing style and they way she includes interviews, telephone calls and messages in with the book. Another 5 stars from me.
This is book 4 of the DI Adam Fawley series but can be read as a standalone.
Set in Oxford, Faith Appleyard is found wandering along the roadside by a taxi driver after being kidnapped and looking in a terrible state. She refuses to see a doctor or go to the police so he takes her home and then phones the police himself.
Why does she not want to go to the police, what is she hiding?
DI Adam Fawley then takes the investigation visits Miss Appleyard who brushes it off as an April Fools prank that got out of hand, while her mother and others that are questioned are equally dismissive.
Another girl has gone missing, will this one come home, Adam must work fast if there is any chance of it.
This is the first book in the DI Adam Fawley series I have read and it was thoroughly gripping. It was disturbing, suspenseful and had me work through a multitude of emotions.
What I liked about this book is that it highlights the difficulties a transgender person has when trying to live their life and how horrible some small-minded people can be due to it. Having seen this prejudice by people in real life who don’t understand or do not want to understand this book is a good eye-opener for those that haven’t experienced it from either side. But there is so much more to the story than that. It was captivating.
This one wasn't for me unfortunately. These sorts of books are a let down recently. I need to be more selective in what I request going forward. I enjoyed book 3, but the rest have not grabbed me as much as that one.
I love the DI Adam Fawley series and think this was my absolute favourite. Cleverly written. Excellent plot. Cant wait for the next in the series!!
I love the DI Adam Fawley series, literally everything about it: each one is clever, original, thrilling and twisted. As a bonus, Fawley frequently has funny lines that make me laugh out loud. Cara Hunter has such a readable writing style it’s so easy to get drawn in: I couldn’t sleep one night so started this and had read 20% before I even looked up. It was 4.00 am!
The plot of All The Rage is scary, terrifying and made me absolutely furious. It throws you several curveballs; you think it’s going to be about one thing, then another, but maybe it’s actually even more shocking. This fantastic instalment is up there with In The Dark as my favourite in this series so far. I recommend these books to every reader I know and I already cannot wait for the next one! A HUGE thank you to Penguin Books (UK) for the ARC of All The Rage.
I found this to be poor. The story line was inconsistent and it just did not keep
me engaged.
It was just too slow and boring.
What is it with Richard and Judy recommended books.
They just never seem to live up to the hype.
The police is trying to find out who assaulted a teenage girl. But the mother and the girl are not talking and it takes some time before the police have a lead as to what might have happened and why.
I loved this series from the start and it just keeps getting better with each book. Highly recommended series.
I absolutely love Cara Hunter's series of DI Adam Fawley.
But unfortunately I'd have to admit that this wasn't my favourite.
It was a well put together story, but I did struggle to connect with the characters this time around.
The ending was rather far fetched also.
But don't let this put you off, I'm still super excited about her next book in this series.
