A short festive read.
It is the run up to christmas. Brothers Jack and Jimmy are back in town. Jack is going to be marrying Kara on Christmas Eve in Ireland. After success with a song leads to Jimmy being offered work away from the band, will he make it to the wedding. His girlfriend Charlotte is sure he has chosen fame and money over love, so will he get a chance to make it up to her?
Good Christmas novella. Good writing, sweet story. The setting of a wedding in Ireland and the story of the Claddagh ring added to the charm of the story.
It is Hallmark bound. I think it was as sweet as the tea down south. Author had us travel a bit before we finished with Christmas in Ireland. Lots of traditions brought with them full circle to Ireland.
My only problem was POV.
The Perfect Love Song is a lyrical tribute to love...to the recognition that love never should be ignored and that regardless of what is going on around you, love is worth returning to. The author has populated this wonderful story with endearing characters that make the journey through the story so very enjoyable. Brothers Jack and Jimmy have a local band. Best friends Charlotte and Kara are the women they love. Reunited over Thanksgiving, Jimmy begins writing a new song that Charlotte contributes lyrics to. Jimmy thinks they have written the perfect love song, but other ears have different ideas. Suddenly, Jimmy finds not only is he losing control of his song, but also of his life. Will he also lose Charlotte? There is magic in this story...not of the paranormal kind, but the magic of the real spirit of Christmas: love, family, forgiveness, grace, and unexpected giving. This is a story to savor and reread no matter what the season is. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.
