Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for the ARC of this book that I was provided in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Shut up. This book was completely unfair. I was completely unprepared for the final 10%. I can truly say that I am a person who is constantly irritated by how predictable everything literary has become. Then I start reading this book that I only requested because I recognized the writer's name from The Dinner List. I start reading and no joke have rude notes about how it should be made into a Hallmark movie with Jenny McCarthy.
I was 100% wrong. This book is not that. It is heartbreaking, soul crushing, and gorgeous. I absolutely ugly cried and I absolutely loved it.

This book grabbed my attention and held it for 8 hours...the length of time it took to read it from cover to cover.
I was intrigued by the idea of a premonition in a dream. A dream that is life altering in its "feeling real".

But, this is ultimately a friendship love story. It was reminiscent of the friendship in Firefly Lane, by Kristin Hannah.

I thoroughly enjoy reading this book and the exhaustion felt the next day, from staying up to finish it, was all worth it.

Thank you #NetGalley for the advanced reader copy.

*In Five Years: A Novel* by Rebecca Serl is a story of friendship and love and lessons. I haven't read "The Dinner List", but if it's anything like "In Five Years" I can see why it is so popular. This book made me cry, several times. It made me laugh a bit and reminded me that we all need to live in the present.

This is the story of Dannie, a corporate lawyer who has everything planned to the last detail so when she has a dream (premonition?) that seems extreamly real about lifefive years from now, one in which she is in an apartme t that she would never pick and with a man she's never met, she starts doing everything to keep it from happening, to fight fate.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this book at first, but I found I couldn't pull myself away. This book will make you look at your priorities and realize love is now, as is life. I would recommend this book. I can't wait to go read "The Dinner List" now. This author and this book will stay with you long after the last page.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy free of charge. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of it.
