Thank you to Netgally and the publisher for sending this book to me for review.
What can I say...I adored this book....so much so that about 15 percent through I bought the others in the series. I adored Avery and warmed to Carter as Avery does slowly but with my whole heart, I loved that Avery was a wedding planner with her sisters and loved the relationship she had with her sisters. The only thing that stops me giving this 5 stars is the fact that weight is spoken about a few times with Avery commenting on her love of sweet pasties and almost having shame about it and commenting how big her bum is and then Ally asking her brother if she has gotten fat like it's the most important thing in the world to be slim, as a relatively younger book I wouldn't expect to see this, however I still adored this book and can't wait to move onto number 2.
Jennifer Probst is a fabulous writer and this book was a great starter to the Sunshine Sister series!!! Enticing characters, a wonderful blend of family relations, and a great narration makes this a wonderful read!!
Love on Beach Avenue by Jennifer Probst is a perfect romantic comedy for all readers. It's sweet, light and page turning read. I was a good read. The story was smooth and I Loved the characters and their chemistry between them.
I Highly Recommend it to all Readers to One Click this book now.
I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.
Hello
Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title.
While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.
I look forward to continuing to work with you in 2023 and beyond.

This is going to be another great series from this author! Love on the Beach is set in the shore town of Cape May NJ. The story settles around Avery and her sisters who are the towns wedding planners. This book is Avery’s book. Avery’s best friend Ally is getting married and wants Avery to handle the wedding in Cape May in 3 months! Of course Avery agrees because it is her best friend after all!!! We are then introduced to Carter. Carter is Ally’s big brother. The big brother who raised her after the untimely death of their parents. Carter who cannot stand Avery because he feels she was and probably still is a bad influence on his sister. Can you see where this is going?!?! Carter is a nerdy type with the superman glasses and always uptight, the polar opposite of Avery who although she is overly organized and like a good spread sheet just like the next person she also enjoys fun times and loves her family and friends. Carter is determined to undermine everything that Avery does which infuriates her to know end. With that there is also a building chemistry between them and because they both cannot stand each other feel it is hate. Avery in true wedding planner fashion believes in love and happily ever after with the white picket fence. Carter not so much. He loves his sister and his rescue dog Lucy she is adorable and I love how she is presented. Lots of laugh out loud moments with her!
But Carter does not believe in love (or so he says) happily ever after because of his past. He feels that because of what happened in his past it will always happen so why let yourself love someone to hurt you that much. Watch as their story unfolds. Will Avery be able to let Carter see that he does have it in him and the past does not have to mean it will happen in the future. There are a lot of laugh out loud moments as well as some tissue moments. I think you will truly love this book, I know I did and I look forward to the next book in the series.
Audio version. I had a hard time getting into this one, but in the end I think Avery and Carter made a good match. Zoe stole the show. I liked the sisters’ relationships and the secondary characters.
The male narrator had a really deep voice, and it threw me at first.
I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.
3.5 Stars
Probst’s new series starts with the first Sunshine sister, Avery. She is a wedding planner who believes in Happy Ever After for her clients and in hopes for her very own HEA someday. But fate will test her beliefs and give her the perfect guy but a total commitment-phobe. Although he is upfront about it, he is a love skeptic.
I loved Avery. She is great at what she does. She is independent, strong, and not afraid to love despite the possible consequences. What’s more important is that she knows exactly how to get it and would never settle. Carter, on the other hand, is just strong-minded. He knows he can’t commit and HEA is just not on his radar. I respect that he was honest about it but I got to tell you, it was fun to see him fold.
Overall, I enjoyed Avery and Carter’s story. They were sweet and it was fun to see them get to know each other. The conflict was a little predictable and light but for its genre, it serves its purpose for the storyline but It was a fun read. Up next, Temptation on Ocean Drive. This one will be about Bella, the widowed sister. There were hints of what’s to come in her story and I can see there will be lots of sparks.
While this story was good and I loved the idea of the matchmaker who didn’t have love for herself, the use of language in this book was a bit much and honestly felt unauthentic to the story.
Loved this book, suck an amazing book! Would recommend to anyone and everyone! I loved every single second of reading this. While reading it, I was completely lost in the words! 10/10
I've been a fan of Jennifer's older series and really wanted to give this a try since I haven't read from her in a while.
Overall it's a cute read, but had a tough time connecting to each character and believing their chemistry.
With enemies to lovers being one of my favorite tropes, the levels that hero took things to made me dislike him a bit. There's a constant push and pull, and he was always trying to take over Avery's wedding planning job. I didn't like it one bit. He definitely saw it differently, but much later, he caught on how much of a jerk he was being.
I did enjoy the second half more and loved up on all the cute moments they had together. So I was definitely rooting for them in the end.
Although this didn't quite work for me, I'm rather invested in this series because I want to know the story of Avery's sisters!
I enjoyed this one! Love the dual POV and the real issues that Avery & Carter faced. Enemies to lovers is one of my fave tropes. Looking forward to picking book 2 up!
Love on Beach Avenue is SO fluffy. Like, even when it went into the sadder moments, it was still just a big ol' piece of cotton candy with only good feelings.
This is a hate-to-love between Avery and Carter, who happens to be the older brother of Avery's college bestie Ally. When they were in college, Carter loathed Avery, because he thought she was a bad influence on his little sister. Now a wedding planner, Avery agrees to squeeze Annie's wedding into her summer schedule, not expecting Carter to come along and end up doing the planning with her.
Though I didn't get massive ship feelings here, I was definitely on board and having fun with the dynamic between these two. There's a convincing dislike here largely because they came in with certain expectations and are also both very competitive. The little bets based on whose wedding selections Ally will prefer are a cute way to foster connection. Carter's dog is adorable too.
There's nothing that feels super unique about this romance, which is what would have been needed to kick it up to a four star, but I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Carter's nerdy and a bit awkward at times, which is great, but he's also the classic dude terrified of commitment because of the pain of his past. What's nice is that it resolves pretty easily, but it didn't entirely seem to fit him because he's such a squishy lil marshmallow. It would have been nice to see something else in there, aside from that stereotypical dynamic, but I still liked them and their reunion scene was a cute nod to rom coms without going over the top.
If you're looking for something easy breezy that will bring just the happy feels, this is a good choice. I added a bunch more Probst to my to-read shelves, and I'm hoping they're mostly this good or better.
FYI the other two books are both going to be friends to lovers trope.
Avery Sunshine dreams of one day finding her HEA. Until then, she’s satisfied making other people’s dreams come true. Avery and her sisters run Sunshine Bridal and are rated one of the best bridal companies around. Avery will do whatever it takes to make dreams come true. When her best friend from college announces her impending wedding and asks Avery to be her wedding planner, she can’t turn her down—even though they are already booked! Angry, her sisters leave it all up to her...
Carter, a successful computer hacker, is owed time off and can’t think of a better way to spend it than helping his sister plan the perfect wedding. When his sister is called back home to help care for her fiancé’s mom, it’s left up to Carter and Avery to plan the entire wedding together. Carter and Avery have NEVER seen eye to eye. Carter thought Avery was a bad influence on his sister during college and doesn’t believe she can run a successful business. It’s up to Avery to prove him wrong. Every time Avery makes a suggestion, Carter undercuts her and gets his sister to side with him. Avery is offended and hurt, but is willing to do anything to make her friend happy—even work with Carter....
I think some of my favorite scenes were between Avery and Cater’s dog and the “guys”. That dog did NOT like her! I could just picture her prissy little nose up in the air, snubbing Avery. Too funny! Carter was extremely loyal and devoted, but close minded—at first. Avery continued to impress Carter with her knowledge and work ethic, so unlike her college days. The chemistry was off the charts. I loved how the “guys” became fast friends and helped Carter win his woman in the end. I can’t wait to read Avery’s sisters stories! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
4.25 stars-- LOVE ON BEACH AVENUE is the first instalment in Jennifer Probst’s contemporary, adult THE SUNSHINE SISTERS erotic, romance series focusing on the Sunshine Sisters: Avery, Bella and Taylor. This is thirty-two year old, wedding planner Avery Sunshine, and forty-year old, computer specialist Carter Ross’s story line.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Carter and Avery) LOVE ON BEACH AVENUE follows the building relationship between thirty-two year old, wedding planner Avery Sunshine, and forty-year old, computer specialist Carter Ross. When her best friend from college, Ally Ross, asks Avery to be the planner for her upcoming wedding Avery knew she was in trouble when Ally brought along her brother Carter, the bane of our heroine’s existence. From the start, Carter pushed all of Avery’s buttons but when Ally had to return home to Texas for an emergency Avery discovered Ally left Carter in charge. All of Avery’s suggestions were met with negativity and challenge, and in the end, Avery wondered what had crawled up Carter’s a$$ and died. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Carter and Avery, and the fall-out when Carter’s time in New Jersey, comes to a close.
Carter and Avery have butted heads for as long as they could remember. Carter, having raised his sister upon the death of their parents, struggled with what he believed to be Avery’s undo influence over his sister’s life choices growing up. Avery Sunshine knew she was a great wedding planner but finding time for love may have passed her by. Falling for Carter Ross was never in the plans especially when Carter proclaimed that he didn’t believe in love or happily ever afters.
The relationship between Carter and Avery begins acrimoniously as there are prior encounters between our couple. Carter blames Avery for steering his sister into times of trouble, and Avery believes Carter is hoping to destroy her life. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to Avery’s sisters Bella, and Taylor and Bella’s daughter Zoe; as well as wedding assistant Gabe Garcia, and photographer Pierce Powers. Bella and Gabe’s story is next in Temptation on Ocean Drive.
LOVE ON BEACH AVENUE is a fun and flirty story line. The premise is engaging and light-hearted with a little bit of drama and conflict; the romance is seductive; the characters are colorful, energetic and real.

A new series by Jennifer Probst always gets my heart pumping. She’s one of my favorite authors and I look forward to everything she publishes. Love on Beach Avenue promised a new family of sisters that are wedding planners looking for love.
Avery Sunshine has known Carter since she was young being best friends with his younger sister Ally meant they were never on the best of terms. Now Ally’s getting married and she’s asked Avery to plan her wedding on short notice with Carter’s help. Immediately sparks flew between Avery and Carter and the tension was super high. Their chemistry was off the charts from the beginning and tensions only rose as Carter was an a-hole from the start. Carter’s character was more complex than I thought, as his past was revealed throughout the story and explained why he felt the way he did. His gruff exterior and gooey interior made for some confusing interactions with Avery. Eventually, they both realized their connection and mutual tension was meant to be more.
Jennifer Probst always delivers all the feels with her feel good romances. Her characters and storylines are easily relatable and keep me cheering until the end. As we were introduced to Avery’s sisters, I’m really excited for the next two books in the series.
You know that moment when you read a book and it just leaves you with a smile on your face and a happy feeling? This is one of those jewels!
Avery and Carter's story is the story of a wedding planner that has to deal with her old nemesis, her best friend's older brother who wants to veto all the choices for his sister's wedding. Sparks fly, sensual tension rises, old hurts come up, great friendships form, there's laughter, there's small town charm all in wonderful summer days.
There was really anything I didn't like about this book, all the characters are lovely and the drama comes up only because of their fears, there is no bad character really. It was written so nicely, so harmonious, that though it's a story of somebody else's wedding planning, you get the right amount of that couple's presence but it doesn't become too much to interfere with the hero and heroine.
I adored how the main characters are so mature and grounded, how beautifully they connect even when hurt, and how they are always trying their best. Friend's love, romantic love, siblings love, wedding romance, this book is just infused with love. I am extremely grateful to have received an advanced copy of this gem as it is a perfect read to sooth the soul. A great escape into the world of happily ever after!
Love on beach avenue
Love on Beach Avenue is the first novel in @authorjenniferprobst’s Sunshine Sisters series. The first book is all about eldest sister Avery.
The Sunshine sisters run a wedding planning business and when Avery’s best friend gets in touch with her to help her plan her wedding in Avery’s town of Cape May, Avery is delighted to accommodate her. She just doesn’t realise how very interested in all the fine detail Ally’s brother and Avery’s enemy Carter will be.
Oh man, honestly I really disliked Carter for about 2/3 of this book! However, he started to admit the way he’d been acting, and why, and reluctantly I started to warm to him! There is some intense tension between the two characters as Carter causes them to repeatedly butt heads but once he realises Avery isn’t the reckless college girl he used to know he relaxes and so does their strained relationship.
The family bond between the sisters was lovely to read, each there for the other and this book sets up their stories for future books in the series.
The wedding planning element of this book was detailed but not over done or boring with all of Carter’s antics keeping Avery on her toes. If you’ve planned a wedding you’ll appreciate how much is involved!
I was also living for the setting for this story, googling Cape May gave me some serious holiday pangs. I’m a huge fan of visiting the USA and I’d love to see as much of it as possible. I love to be able to see some of it through books.
The next book in the series is Temptation in Ocean Drive which we are delighted to be hosting as part of the release celebrations at the end of the month!
Love on Beach Avenue was classic Jennifer Probst. Full of love of family, laughter, a bit of angst and hope for more! When Carter comes to Cape May to help plan his beloved younger sister's wedding, he is caught off guard by how much her best friend from college has grown up. Avery is a perfectionist in her job and plans on creating the perfect wedding for her old friend. The last thing that she needs is input from her friend's older and quite attractive stuffy older brother. Well you all know what they say about opposites attracting! This was a wonderful, uplifting story with plenty of laughter and a bit of heat. I really enjoyed the banter between Carter and Avery and how they kept trying to fight off the inevitable. The supporting characters are definitely one of the highlights of the story. Avery's sisters who she shares the wedding planning business with are great and her niece Zoe was a joy! Run and read this today and I know that more books will be coming in this series because it was too good to stop with one!
