This book was unexpected in a good way. Seeing Rahina brazenly chase Roman was unusual and sometimes she got a little annoying, but she wasn't desperate or pathetic. She saw what she wanted and went after it, but when he made it clear he wasn't interested, she walked away with her dignity intact and made him chase her. The one thing I struggled with is the way they described Roman's smile. It came off less sexy and more psychotic killer clown, which I guess is what the author was going for. I would recommend this book as long as you don't mind heroes with questionable mental health and anger management issues.

3.5 stars rounded up. I love this series and was excited for Roman's story and to see what kind of h could melt that cold heart. I very much liked Rahina in the first 1/2 of this book, and truthfully, that was surprising because SHE pursued Roman and I usually like my alpha H's to do the pursuing. Roman fought it so hard but I think he absolutely need a persistent h to crack him open.

My affections for Rahina started to wane in the last half. Once Roman "gave in" it was like she flipped a switch and I didn't understand her character anymore because it was so removed from what we learned about her previously. All of the sudden she's going to act meek when Roman pursues her sexually? She knew who he was, she definitely knew how he acted around her and others. What did she think was going to happen once she landed him? That they were going to share some chaste kisses and that's it?

Rounding up a star for Roman because he was the deliciousness of this story!

Received ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced in any way ...
I was excited to read this ARC & the author ( new for me ) Katerina Winter’s work .... I have recently become quite a fan of being taken away into a Mafia setting ❤️

I loved the cover as it seems to beautifully depict both Roman & Rahina ... the black & white is beautifully done as well as the ballet dancer in pose. Cover & cover blurbs for His Smile get a big thumbs up 👍 from me !!

Roman Mashir doesn’t smile - period !! No reason to - as no one is allowed to get close to him . Rahina Chopra meets Roman by chance as he pays her family a visit he has a business deal in place with her father. Associates of the mob & their business dealings are called into question - certainly a potentially dangerous situation for Rahina ....

Rahina is immediately attracted to Roman (he describes her as persistent , annoying , naive & foolish - she has no business dancing into his world ) I loved the pull & push between these (2) characters as Roman tries to resist his major attraction. Rahina just won’t take “no interest” from Roman for an answer - when these two eventually get together it’s like 🔥💥🧨

Great read - loved the characters & storyline !!

I will be checking out more work by this author !!

Roman Mashir was the man that stepped out of shadowed corners wearing a smile. Cruelty and laughter were synonymous in his world. Katerina Winters was the man that stepped out of shadowed corners wearing a smile. Cruelty and laughter were synonymous in his world.

This had so many problems. First one is that ballerinas can only be so tall. In the author’s description Rahina she is five ten to six feet tall and Roman is 6 feet eight inches. Ballerinas are small and lithe again Rahina is described as curved and full. Sorry doesn’t work out. Again in on chapter she is getting her doctorate and then after a few chapters she is getting her masters. So many inconsistencies it drives me nuts. It is almost like the author forgot what she wrote. There seemed like there was no real attraction between Roman and Rahina. She is like an annoying child to his grown up self. I just could like it and forced myself to finish.

Received a copy from the publisher for a honest review.

A Mafia man, dangerous, dark and not the one you should chase. A ballerina, Indian heritage and a determination to persist her own desires when she should run away. Our man tells her to leave, especially while she can...

Meant to be a dark romance.
