Sweet Talker is the second book in Robin Bielman's American Royalty series. This series follows the three Auprince brothers as they find love. Sweet Talker brings us Ethan's s story.
I love a good second chance romance and that is exactly what we get with Ethan Auprince and Pascale Nichols. Ethan and Callie met ten years prior while they were both in Hawaii. They spent a wonderful summer together and were in love until Callie disappeared without a word. Ten years later, Callie is brought back into Ethan's life as his new restaurant manager - or so Ethan thinks. Callie was actually hired by Ethan's family to be his bodyguard.
While acting as Ethan's restaurant manager/bodyguard, the two get to know each other again. Reasons for past actions are discovered and the two start to build a relationship again. When tragedy strikes, Callie must decide if her and Ethan are meant to be, or if she should run again.
I loved this story! Robin Bielman is one of my favorite authors. I cannot wait for the next one in the series. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
3.5 Stars
I enjoyed Ethan and Pascale's story. I loved that she was the bodyguard, the one who was capable, and that it caught him a little bit by surprise. (There's a fabulous paintball scene that I am not going to spoil, but it was so much fun.) I also loved, without spoilers, that this really wasn't much of a story about one part of a couple keeping a secret, which is not always a favorite trope...it was, but, it wasn't, and I loved the way this was handled. Really, read it and this will make sense.
I liked the characters, I believed in them as people and also in their attraction and their relationship. As with all relationships, there was some compromise to get to the happily ever after, but I believed it, and I believed the characters would make (and be happy with) the decisions made to get them to their HEA.
This is the 2nd book in the American Royalty series, and while it can be read as a standalone, it was also fun to read it after having read the 1st one, as you get a little bit of an update of the characters you met previously.
I enjoyed and recommend this title
Sweet Talker by Robin Bielman is the second book in the American Royalty series, but it reads as a standalone book. There’s really only one thing I have to say about Sweet Talker. I loved this book soooo much!
When Pascale is secretly hired as a bodyguard for a charming restaurateur in the public eye, she had her doubts about working to protect a man with whom she shared a past love story with a tragic ending. But as luck (and life) would have it, a second chance at love is what these two had been waiting 10 years to find…of course with some obstacles (literally) and twists along the way.
I am a sucker for a charmer, and Ethan Auprince is definitely that. Sexy restaurateur, successful business man, cocky but not in a jerk off kind of way…yet so generous, kind, and not afraid to admit that he’s totally in love with the girl that got away 10 years ago. He’s definitely the kind of hero that you’re routing for the whole time while silently wishing there was a real life version of him about to knock on your door at any minute.
His heroine, Pascale, has been through a lot. She’s strong and confident on the outside but a little broken with her guard way up on the inside. But she totally commits to her cause, displays one selfless act after another, and does it all with a charming sense of humor that will make you laugh out loud.
This was my first book by Robin Bielman, but I’ve already started stalking the rest of her collection. I REALLY enjoyed her style of writing. I love stories written in the first person, but I especially loved how the characters would break the fourth wall every now and then. It was like they were talking straight to us…rationalizing their thoughts or actions with us.
This book made me laugh hysterically. This book made me cry hysterically. And, the sexy times certainly made me fan myself hysterically. This was rom-com writing at it’s finest, in my opinion.
I can’t wait to read more about the other Auprince brothers in the rest of this series!
Sweet Talker is book two in the Robin Bielman American Royalty Series. This is Ethan Auprince the oldest, story of finding his true love. It takes a stalker for that to happen. Pascale Nichols walked out of his life 10 years ago and now walks right back in as a secretly family hired bodyguard.
These are two who were so young years ago when they met. While Ethan is successful but also full of himself perhaps more so now than he was at twenty-two when Pascale and he met. When certain events happen, Ethan chose to grow as a person. I liked that, also liking him more as he did. While the stalker and Pascale “secretly” protecting him was focus for their renewed relationship there is a major twist in the story soon after this is solved. While Pascale’s past assignment comes up several time, I was completely surprised by this turn of events. It served to make this a richer and sweeter story. Well done!
A fun fast paced read, interesting characters, great chemistry, story isn’t anything new or amazing but it’s a good entertaining romance and perfect for a cosy night in.
A wonderful addition to the American Royalty series.
Pascale and Ethan had a summer fling ten years ago, but Pascale left without saying goodbye. Ethan never forgot her or stopped wondering what happened to make her leave. When Pascale shows up at Ethan’s restaurant for a management position, Ethan can’t believe his eyes.
Pascale is a body guard who was hired by Ethan’s family to protect him from a stalker. It will be hard for her to do her job while keeping a secret from Ethan. When the secret finally comes out, old flames are rekindled. But what will happen to their relationship when Pascale gets some unexpected news?
I really enjoyed this second chance romance. It is passionate, but with a touch of sweetness added to the mix. The story moved along nicely and I really liked the characters, especially Rylee. She was a fun addition and changed the tone of the story giving it a little something extra. This is the second book in a series, but I think it can totally be read as a stand-alone.
"Sweet Talker" (American Royalty Book 2) by Robin Bielman is a great read. I enjoyed Ethan and Pascale's story. This was the first time I've read anything from this author, and I'm looking forward to reading more. This story has romance, passion, humor, close family, second chances, and more. I can't wait to see what happens with these characters in this series. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, and series.
This is the second book in this series but it is a complete stand alone so if you haven't read book one don't fret it but you may want to read it anyway just because the writing is so great.
This is Ethan Auprince story he is the eldest brother and the rstauranteer who always seems to have a different woman on his arm as he wines and dines them What his brothers don't understand is that ten years ago he had his heart broken by a woman that walked away when she had a family emergency. When it looks like Ethan has a stalker his brother employ a bodyguard in the shape of Pascale The only problem is she is the woman that walked away she thought he only thought of her as a summer fling so never realised that she hurt him. Now with them back in one another's company will their passion for one another reignite and will she be able to do her job and keep him safe You will have to read to see
Overall, I liked the characters and the writing, but this story felt as if it came in 2 parts. There's the initial threat and reason our heroine comes into Ethan's life again that is resolved fairly quickly and it kind of ended in a whimper. It was a bummer that the threat wasn't as intense or scary. It was simply a device to get to the 2nd half of the story, which was kind of a 360 of where we were. I kind of wish the author went all-in on the bodyguard story line by upping the stakes OR go into the instant family story of part 2 from the start. It was just a weird combo to blend them.
This is the first book I’ve read from Robin Bielman and I know it won’t be my last. I was completely sucked into Ethan and Pascale’s story. This is the second book in the series, however, it can be read as a standalone.
Ethan and Pascale spent a summer together 10 years ago, that summer they fell in love. Until, Pascale left without a word. Now, they are back in each other’s lives, but Pascale was hired by Ethan’s family to keep him safe.
I loved Ethan and Pascale’s relationship. Despite having ten years pass there is no denying the connection they share. That bond from ten years ago is strong and only growing between the two of them. When Pascale’s life takes a major turn, I loved that Ethan doesn’t shy away. He is super sweet and loving and majorly steps up.
The characters in this book were super relatable and easy to love. I couldn’t get enough of the Auprince family, especially Gran. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and I’m definitely going to go back and read the first one!
Sweet Talker is the second, standalone book in Robin Bielman’s American Royalty series, and it’s a swoony and sexy second-chance romance. Ethan and Pascale had a summer fling ten years ago that left a permanent impression on both of their hearts. They are reunited when she’s hired as the new general manager at his uber-successful restaurant, but she’s there under false pretenses. Unbeknownst to him, she was contracted by his family to serve as an undercover bodyguard after he received a few threats from a potential stalker. As they rekindle their relationship, Pascale tries to hide her role, stay unemotional and protect Ethan, but she’s having a hard time not falling for the charming, swoon-worthy restaurateur. With its sizzling chemistry, endearing characters, snappy humor and dash of intrigue and suspense, Sweet Talker is a sigh-worthy romance that you do not want to miss.

Pascale has been secretly hired by Ethan’s family as his bodyguard to protect him from some unwanted threats. After her last job, Pascale’s reputation is at risk and she cannot make any mistake this time around. So what if she was once in love with Ethan.
Pascale is someone Ethan never forgot, and now that she is back in his life, he will do all in this power to make her stay.
Sweet talker is a fun, sexy and heartwarming read that I just couldn’t put down. The chemistry between Ethan and Pascale is super Hot and I loved the fact that they took the time to reconnect. But for me the heart stealer was Rylee, she is just so cute and adorable that she just stole my heart.
Robin Bielman returns with the second instalment in her American Royalty series and provides readers with a beautifully written account of love that is lost, but never forgotten.
Ethan Auprince is every true romantics vision of what the perfect man would be. Handsome, charismatic and over-the-top sexy; he’s simply swoon-worthy and the woman who broke his heart is rarely far from his thoughts. Pascale Nichols is a professional. She has a job to do, and so help her it will be done, regardless of the sexy as sin man who makes her sigh internally every time he enters a room.
Sweet Talker is very simply put, an exceptional second chance romance with delightful characters and an imaginative storyline to keep readers engaged from the first till the very last page. I’m sure I won’t be the only person captivated by this fabulous story and its wonderful cast.
The story of Pascale and Ethan.
They knew each other years ago, a summer together before she just upped and left one day. He has never forgotten her, and now she is back as his new restuarant manager. But things aren't what they seem, and she is actually his bodyguard, hired by his family after he receives a number of threats.
They are still drawn to each other and just when they think they are getting somewhere together there is a curve abll when she becomes guardian to a 4 year old girl. Will they have a chance together and can he show her she is more important to him than his work?
Looking forward to the next book in this series.
Book two in Robin Bielman’s American Royalty series, Sweet Talker is the story of the oldest Auprince brother Ethan. Set in Los Angeles, this is a second chance at love story for Ethan and Pascale Nicholls, the girl who broke his teenage heart ten years earlier. It’s a nice blend of sweet and sexy with a hint of angst thrown in for good measure.
As with the first book in this series, I loved that Ethan and his family were so down to earth, caring and approachable despite being gifted with massive wealth and stunning good looks. I also loved that Pascale, or Callie as Ethan calls her, is assigned as his bodyguard without his knowledge. She had to be very creative in coming up with ways of bumping into him and that made for some fun twists in the story.
Callie is a lovely heroine. She has some baggage — her best friend was murdered by a stalker when she was a teenager, and she lost her last job after her employer caught her in a compromising situation — but she’s come out of it stronger both mentally and physically. She’s a woman to admire.
There are moments in this book that tugged at my heart strings and moments where I just smiled and smiled. These characters are good people and I felt totally invested in their journey to a happy ever after.
This is book 2 in the series and I LOVED LOVED book 1. This was a nice story but not as great as the 1st book but it was still a lot of fun. Ethan is a restaurantuer and a very wealthy guy with a big problem, he has a stalker. Nothing dangerous just kinda weird. His family hires Pascal or Calllie to be his manager and his secret bodyguard.
Callie and Ethan fell in love at age 19 and have been separated for 10 years. Except now she is back as his female bodyguard. I thought the stalker angle was solved super easy. The book is really about Callie becoming a mom and taking care of the child is left in her care.
I highly enjoyed this story and seeing all my favorite characters from the first book. It also easily stands alone.
Loved this book. Ethan and Pascale are great together, and the story moves along well. The book is told in alternating first-person, and I enjoyed getting in to their feelings. Ethan is very hard to resist, and he's been in love with Pascale since they met in Hawaii ten years ago. She disappeared on him then, and he's determined to keep that from happening again now that he has a second chance. This can definitely be read on its own, but I am really looking forward to the third book.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely love Everything Robin writes! Loved this book and it's a great addition to the series. Can't wait for more.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the Arc
*Spoiler Free* I'm not going to discuss anything that's not in the blurb.
Ethan comes from a wealthy family, but has established a successful restaurant on his own. He's got a stalker. His family secretly hires Pascale as his bodyguard. She poses as his restaurant manager. Unbeknownst to his family, Ethan and Pascale had a passionate summer together 10 years ago. She left him without a word and broke his heart. He is drawn to her again, even before he realizes who she is.
The bodyguard storyline is resolved halfway through the book. Then the story twists. Pascale's life changes, and the couple has to deal with the momentous change. Will they survive it?
***
Ethan and Pascale are both likable characters and have chemistry. It's easy to see that they belong together. But Pascale's insecurity gets in the way of their happiness. The story moves along at a good pace and keeps you turning the pages. Highly recommended.
4 1/2 Stars! Another great book by Robin!
Ethan and Pascale had a summer together ... but at the end of the summer Pascale left Ethan without a word! Ten years later, Ethan's family hire Pascale to be his secret bodyguard not knowing that they know each other. Ethan can't believe that his old manager hired Pascale to be his new manager. He doesn't know whether he should be happy or mad about it.
This book grabbed me right from the beginning! When Ethan's grandmother was telling Pascale about when he was a little boy in the bathroom ... I was laughing so hard there were tears running down my face. I also really liked that Pascale is a strong woman who can hold her own. I found the banter in this book to be so realistic, not only between Ethan and Pascale but also in the supporting characters. I love it when there are little kids in a book ... they just make the story ... better. And Rylee ... what a little cutie! This is a great addition to the series and I can't wait for Drew's book!
