I absolutely adored this sweet Romance, I practically fell in love with “Cowboy” myself. This book is along the lines of The Notebook in sweetness level. I adored that Cowboy the one guy who didn’t think he knew what Love was at all was such a loving caring man with sweet gestures and a need to remember all of the good times together.

The characters were deep, flawed and came together with chemistry and a believable romance you’re rooting for from the beginning.

Harper and her younger sister were raised by their grandmother following the death of their parents. Since the death of her parents, Harper’s dream has been to become a doctor in order to save lives. While home for the summer, she ran into a former classmate, who would change her life forever.

Cowboy grew up in a small town, raised by a single mother following the death of a man he believed to be his father. Unfortunately, his life spun out of control after learning that the man he grew up believing had been his father, wasn’t really his father. Cowboy became disillusioned about love and relationships, developing a reputation as a bit of a cad. But then, he ran into a girl he went to school with.

Can two people with very different histories and plans for the future, learn to trust and love one another again after trust is broken during a very special summer.?

This book is the second in a series. It is both touching and funny - a truly enjoyable read!

A second chance romance for Harper and Cowboy. They were together years ago until he broke her heart and she left town. Now she is back and he wants another chance.

The book jumps between what happened then and present day. Will she give him a chance to explain the truth this time?

A great read. Looking forward to the rest of this series.

The second-chance story of Harper and Cowboy and what a great story! Harper returns to her hometown after the death of her grandmother to take care of her younger sister and sell the house. She has not been home in 3 years, after the ending of her relationship/friendship with Russell (Cowboy). When she finds there is an inheritance for her and her sister she decides to bring the B&B of her late parents back to life and repair the damaged relationship with her sister. And Cowboy? How does he fit in her life. Will she give him a second chance, as he is asking for?

The story is told in flash-back structure. From the day Cowboy and Harper strike up their friendship until the sad ending. It is woven through the current-day events. I don't really like this structure, but it does give you a very good insight to what happened and into their personalities. My heart broke for Cowboy in the past I must admit and I appreciate even more how hard he worked for his second chance (even when it was not even his fault..). I like the fact the characters grow and can admit to mistakes made.

I so loved this story and am buying the first book immediately! This author has a way with words that give you the feels...

Quote: 'Promise me something, Midge.''What?' He studied her bright blue eyes, silently praying he'd never hae to know that it felt like to miss them. 'Promise me you won't break my heart. '
