Yay for Christmas crochet!
My Little Crocheted Christmas: Festive Projects to Make the Season Bright is a lovely pattern book to add to any crocheter’s collection. The festive patterns inside are whimsical and fun.

The crochet patterns within these pages include cookies and sweets, an Advent Calendar, a cuddly fox, festive pencil toppers, small Nativity set, thermos cozy and several other gift ideas that would make for cute stocking stuffers and presents.
The well written patterns all come with clear photos. I love the presentation throughout the book it’s very festive. I’d say this is for the beginner crocheter through the advanced one as well because these are fun projects and most are not too time consuming so you can spend an afternoon whipping something up for yourself or a loved one without too much time commitment. This is a nice pattern book to bring out for crocheting while watching Christmas movies.

I whipped up the snowman jar cozy. The pattern was very simple and I tweaked mine a little to fit the smaller candle.

Overall, this is a terrific crochet pattern book to add to your shelves. I recommend it! Special thanks to NetGalley / Dover for my copy..

I was looking for a book that would help me with amigurumi and this book fits the bill. There were many Christmas-y patterns that were fairly easy. I did have an issue with the fact that the author specified the yarn brand and not the weight so I had to look up each yarn online so I could figure out the weight of the yarn I needed. I think it would be better (unless you are writing your patterns for this specific yarn company - which didn't appear to be the case) to be more general about which yarns to use. The yarn specified didn't even appear to be available in the USA. I would have liked to have a picture of the item with the instructions for the item. The item was at the beginning of the chapter and I had to go back and figure out what it was that I was seeing the instructions for. The beginning of chapter pictures were cute but for organizations sake, the item should be with the instructions. All-in-all, a good how-to for Christmas patterns for gifts and household decoration.

This was a pretty simple little book, and, while I didn't try any of the patterns, they looked like they would be easy enough for a person with a little bit of experience in crocheting. Very cool having all Christmas items in one book.

I love this book with all the cute Christmas ideals in it. It does show the difficulty level for each pattern, the only thing the yarn is told but not the weight of it. According to the hook size it must be a finer weight.
I really want to make the wreath !

The author has created 27 crochet projects with lots of variations of Christmas toys, gifts, decorations. There is even a complete manger scene with shepherds, Mary and Joseph and the baby Jesus with the animals. All the creations are inspired and creative with easy to follow instructions. There is a How-to section at the back of the book which gives instructions and drawings of how to do the pertinent crochet techniques and stitches. The author is from Germany so the needle sizes are listed in mm (millimeter) sizes and the yarns listed are yarns found in germany but the yarn can easily be substituted for American yarns and there are charts that convert the needle sizes to american equivalents. The book is filled with adorable little creations for all crocheters.

This is a nice collection of holiday themed crochet projects. Many would be easily altered (or even with no alteration) for use all year round. Directions are clear. Shapes are fairly simple and should be makable by those with a bit of crochet experience.

Thank you to Dover Publications and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

My Little Crocheted Christmas Festive Projects to Make the Season Bright by Doerthe Eisterlehner
The cover is the first thing that attracted me to wanting to review this book.
So pretty, cute, small for ornaments even as as we have a very small tree during the holidays.
Patterns are broken up into 3 sections: sweets, gift ideas and decorations. There are also instructions in many forms.
Note from the author about the time of year and what it means to her.
Each section has a beginning page showing all the items made and then we get into the patterns themselves.
Each pattern has a large color photograph and in the instructions there are notes about difficulty level size of item when finished and size of items to put on for decorations.
Materials are broken up into the main design and if needed: adornments and the color # and name, crochet hook, other items along with a festive paragraph.
Pattern has row by row instructions and for me it's very clear and easy to understand.
Animal Santas grabbed my attention-easy and fast project for the younger crowd you need to get gifts for-pencil or pen toppers.
Finger puppets are another great idea-I make them for local hospital for when a child is in ER and a bit nervous.
Love the fruit shapes they can be used year round and garlanded around the room.
The How To section is next not only showing via diagrams of how to do stitches, abbreviations and words row by row to make the stitch or technique.
About the author is included and her acknowledgements of thanks to others who helped make this book.
What a fun book, can't wait to get started on these, I want to make one of everything.
Received this review copy from Dover Publications via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

My beginner crochet skills will not enable me to complete most of these projects, but I love everything in this book. Originally published in German, Dover Publications releases this to American crafters later this month (September 2019). Some large projects could be done with variations from other "sets" in the book. Finger puppets and dolls will entertain young ones. An adorable "snow fox" makes a perfect huggable toy for a tot. The nativity set is wonderful. I pre-ordered my own copy of the book in hopes my crochet skills will grow into it. Based on the cover alone, two friends who love to crochet plan to order copies also. I received an electronic advance review copy through NetGalley with the expectation of an honest review.
