I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't think they story had that much to it. The pictures were very bright and actually improved my rating.

This is the story of some hi-tech raccoons on a mission to discover a surprise through clues. It was written through rhyme, which my daughter loved. She enjoyed trying to figure out what the surprise was alongside the raccoons! A good book I would recommend for pre-k to 2nd grade.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Rodney and his friends are on a learning adventure, where they let their imaginations run wild in trying to solve the puzzle. One of the main lessons they learn is that asking questions is good, for it gives more information on the subject. A fun way of teaching and learning which would delight any kid, they all love an adventure.

Bright colours help with this book, as we follow some animal friends around different environmental domes in a science park, following clues on a tablet computer to a surprise delivery. The answer to what it is proves to be very obvious before the end. As to the actual story, I'm not sure – the verse it comes in hits the rhythm well, but leaves a tiny bit to be desired with the rhymes; there's little here to allow us to latch on to the characters involved; and I have no idea at all why the woman tasking the critters with the errand is a human woman with an (occupied) fishbowl for a head. Yuck. The moral about mucking in and following all the clues is about the best benefit of choosing this volume. Two and a half stars.
