Great Women Fiction – Clean Chick Lit
This wonderful story has all the feels! One year in the life of a group of friends, old and new. Taking care of each other and helping through crisis and drama. It has some good messages. The reader will finish the book with a smile on her face. I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

It’s summertime and Grey has moved into her house on the water to try and get back to a normal life, whatever her new normal is, now that her husband has left her for his assistant and her mother has died of cancer. Diana has just left her most recent boyfriend and is living in her car while trying to save up enough money for rent on her own place. They meet by chance and form an unlikely friendship. Can they both forgive and forget to move on with life and new love?

I loved this book! A tale of female friendship, second chance love and taking risks, it really is the perfect beach read. The writing is beautiful and the characters are ladies with whom I’d love to sit down, chat and have a good cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

Over the last few years, Southern Fiction has become a quiet favorite of mine - it began when I was introduced to [author:Diane Chamberlain|93345], I knew I had to explore more in this genre. Enter Karen White, again, my thirst for more continued, when I was recommended Kristy's books by my friend Amy (@novelgossip), I immediately fell in love with the girls in the Peachtree Bluff series. As sad as I was when that series came to an end, I was thrilled when I received an offer from Gallery to check out Feels Like Falling early. This book was AMAZING.

Gray & Diana couldn't be more different but in a crazy summer where Gray's husband has left her for 28 year old Brooke and Diana is homeless, these two women will lean on each other and create a family in ways neither of them could have expected. Told in Kristy Woodson Harvey's signature style, this book will make you laugh, cry and love - these women will truly feel like friends by the last page and they were friends I hated to bid farewell to. I'm grateful that there a few of Harvey's backlist books that I have not yet read to keep me company until her next book is available!

Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey is a wonderful fun and emotional stand-alone novel revolving around two women, and their family and friends.

Gray Howard, one of our wonderful heroines, is a very successful business women, who started her own company years before, becoming very wealthy along the way. Gray is in the midst of getting a divorce from her husband (who also works for the company), who left her for a younger woman; they have a young son, and are currently fighting over terms of the divorce, with him wanting half of the business that Gray started. Gray has some great friends that support her during this difficult time.

Diana Harrington, the second and equally wonderful heroine, is coming off a recent breakup with her boyfriend, and loses her job. Diana is struggling to make ends meet; she is in dire straits, with no job or home, distant family, and sleeps in her car. She meets Gray, who happened be there when Diana lost her job. When Gray sees Diana sleeping in her car, she offers her a place to stay at her guest house, and a fantastic friendship begins. I loved both Diana and Gray, who were so supportive of each other, and the banter between them was awesome. I did love Gray’s best friend Marcy and her partner Trey, too. The friendship between these two women, as well as the female friends for both Gray and Diana made this such a wonderful fun, as well as emotional read.

Diana accepts a job taking care of Gray’s son, cooking for the family and being a perfect friend as well as employee. Later, she will meet someone from the past, who comes back into her life, as well as opening up to reconcile with her family.

Gray recently lost her mother, and her sister is distant, leaving her to utilize her friends for support. Gray originally hated Brooke, her ex’s young girlfriend, but later on things change, surprisingly, as the heated relationship between her and her ex improves. When Gray takes her son for a tennis lesson, she meets the handsome tennis teacher, who shows an interest in her. A slow build romance between Gray her hot young hunk, with her trying to keep it private, knowing nothing can come from any possible permanent relationship.

Feels Like Falling was a fabulous heartwarming story of friendship, love, forgiveness, heartache and absolute fun as we enjoy the camaraderie of these wonderful supportive friends that make life better for all. Thank you, Kristy Woodson Harvey for a wonderful story that I enjoyed thoroughly. You should be reading Feels Like Falling.

Gray lost her mother to cancer nine months ago, two days later her husband moves out (and in with his assistant) and her sister is off with her new husband in what Gray considers a religious cult.

Diana has a hard life...her mother up and disappeared when she was 11, she's had a string of failed relationships and now she has lost her job at Meds and More (seemingly because of Gray), which brings Gray and Diana together for a beautiful friendship.

Feels Like Falling is a story of loss and love, friendship and family and just proves that family is not only the one you were born into, but the one you gain along the way.

"You are always who you are. No matter what is going on around you."

This is the first book I've read by Kristy Woodson Harvey, but it definitely won't be the last. I loved the writing, the character development, the setting, well really everything about it! I so wish this was first in a series. I want more of Gray, Diana, Marcy, Quinn and Andrew, yes more Andrew! ;)

"...it doesn't have to look perfect to be perfect for you."

Thank you to the Tall Poppy Writers for the advanced copy; all opinions are my own.

Fun book for summer. Light, funny and enough twists to keep it interesting without losing the HEA. Ending a little too long, but satisfying. Fans of beach reads and rom coms will be sure to love this book.

Another fantastic read from Kristy Woodson Harvey!

Diana and Gray couldn't be more different. One has money, one is living out of her car. But with a twist of fate, their lives entwine, creating a friendship both needed but didn't realize.

Diana is chasing her happy ending, a life full of love, security and the need to belong. Life has been less than easy and all the while, she has been missing a love from over 20 years ago. But when given the opportunity to give love a second chance, will she take the leap?

From the outside looking in, Gray has it all, including a husband who thought the grass was greener on the other side. With her marriage in shambles, she doesn't know if love is worth fighting for. However, someone comes along and shows Gray that she is capable of being loving, at any age.

Throughout the book, you will laugh and cheer each character on while falling in love with the idea of true friendship and happy ever after.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. You can purchase a copy for yourself here: https://www.amazon.com/Feels-Falling-Kristy-Woodson-Harvey/dp/1982117702

This book was originally set to be released May 01, 2020, but it looks like they changed the release date to April 28th, 2020, according to Amazon.com
This was an interesting read! I am not new to the works of Kristy Woodson Harvey, she also wrote Slightly South of Simple, which I fully enjoyed. She has written many other books and comes highly recommended by some of my other favorite authors like Mary Kay Andrews and Elin Hinderbrand.
This book is about two women who seem to have lost everything and are going through some serious stuff. This book takes place in summertime in North Carolina, as it is snowing today slightly into Spring here in New York, I will take your story of summer and heat while I sit in a turtleneck and a blanket.
Gray Howard is a woman who just lost her mother to cancer, her sister to her evangelical husband, her husband to his assistant. Diana Harrington just broke up with her boyfriend and loses her job. Sounds like the beginning of no good rotten day to me, however while down and out on your luck, there is always a window to crawl out of or from, as I also have found that in life. You can always squeeze those lemons and drink the lemonade. Homebound, no problem, time to write some book reviews after reading all these AMAZING books that I have received!
Gray has a young son and is getting divorced while her ex-husband starts over with his assistant having a new baby. Did I mention that Gray’s husband works for her and Gray herself hired the 20 something blonde to be her husband’s assistant? Quite the insult to injury, if you ask me. SO essentially your husband and his girl-friend work for you, cheat with each other and then want to take your son on a three-week vacation. Um, yeah, slap in the face much. This poor woman!
Diana has had quite the situation herself! Diana’s parents named her and her siblings after royalty, not so royal themselves, however. Her boyfriend gambled all of her savings on a poker game and lost. Thankfully, Diana’s dentist was helpful enough to put a crown in her tooth rather than just taking her tooth and calling it a day. She gets some luck throughout the way, despite her bad luck. We then have an intersecting path between the two women, and it ends up turning out pretty interesting at first, to say the least.
This book is not at all what I would have expected. Some books are predictable, this is not. I fully enjoyed this book and loved the ending!

Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey is already being talked about! Just look at this:

Parade’s 20 Most Anticipated Books of Early 2020
SheKnows’ 10 of the Most Anticipated Books Coming in 2020
Mary Kay Andrews’ Reading Challenge Women’s Fiction Pick
Working Mother’s 20 Most Anticipated Books of 2020 for Working Moms

This is going to definitely be a Must-Read Spring book! It has all the ingredients for a fantastic story including troubled and sympathetic characters, a lovely setting, secrets, friendship.

The synopsis:

It’s summertime on the North Carolina coast and the livin’ is easy. Unless, that is, you’ve just lost your mother to cancer, your sister to her extremist husband, and your husband to his executive assistant. Meet Gray Howard. Right when Gray could use a serious infusion of good karma in her life, she inadvertently gets a stranger, Diana Harrington, fired from her job at the local pharmacy.

Diana Harrington’s summer isn’t off to the greatest start either: Hours before losing her job, she broke up with her boyfriend and moved out of their shared house with only a worn-out Impala for a bed. Lucky for her, Gray has an empty guest house and a very guilty conscience.

With Gray’s kindness, Diana’s tide begins to turn. But when her first love returns, every secret from her past seems to resurface all at once. And, as Gray begins to blaze a new trail, she discovers, with Diana’s help, that what she envisioned as her perfect life may not be what she wants at all.

I love books that center on friendship and overcoming the bumps in the road of life we all face from time to time. This was so well written and page-turning though not a mystery or thriller. Feels Like Falling is my first book by Kristy Woodson Harvey but not my last!

Coming out on April 28, pre-order here.

Quinn has her own company; one she built up while she was still in college. Now facing a divorce because her husband has taken up with one of her employees, he wants a good piece of the company. That can’t happen. Their son, Wagner, is important to both and they do their best to keep his needs first. Wagner’s tennis coach at the club starts flirting with Quinn even though he must be at least 10 years younger. She decides to go out one time just to make herself feel attractive. Diana is as poor as Quinn is rich. Leaving her boyfriend because their relationship is going nowhere, Diana is living in her car. She lucks out when Quinn, a real mess, hires her to clean her house, live in her cottage, and become a truly good friend. The relationships between girlfriends, the love interests of the women, and the trials of the two parents make this book a lot of fun. There are twists and turns and a lot of laughs. Plenty of insights and issues to think about. This is an excellent book and a quick read..

Thank you to NetGalley and Gallery Books for a digital ARC of Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey.

This was my first book by this author and I loved how the characters developed throughout the story. Gray Howard's husband leaves her and her life appears to be falling apart. She meets Diana Harrington and inadvertently causes her to lose her job. The two women's lives become intertwined while they each heal by repairing and developing relationships. This book explores the importance of meeting people when you need them most in your life!

Harvey's writing just gets better and better. I have read each one of her books, and this one is most certainly my favorite so far. I didn't want to put it down.

This book is full of great, well-developed, fun characters. The connection and friendships that develop in this book made this book everything that it is. Family isn't just blood. This book is a strong testament to that.

This book had me smiling, frowning, and almost in tears. I was so back and forth with my emotions. The story is told with so much poignancy, I couldn't help but to fall in love with everyone in this book.

I'm trying to figure out which aspect of this book I loved the most. I think it would have to be the coming together of so many different worlds to create one great group of friends and family. Each character not only learns a lot about themselves, but they learn what they are truly made of and what's really important in life.... Love. Love for themselves and love for others, however it may look.

This book is the perfect beach read. Or late night read. Or early morning read... I can't recommend this one enough, no matter what kind of reader. This book will warm your heart from start to finish.

4.5/5 Stars!

I am so in the mood for Summer and nothing says Summer better than this newest read by Kristy Woodson Harvey. After reading so many thrillers, I was in the mood for something lighter. This fit the bill perfectly. Wonderful characters, friendship, romance and, of course, a little drama. This book just flows easily from one character to another seamlessly. Due out on 4/28, it will be the perfect start to your summer reading.

Gray, 34, lady boss, rich, separated. Diana, 40, down on her luck, single. Two women who couldn’t be more opposite are thrown together by chance. Gray with her huge heart seems to take Diana under her wing, but who saves who? They end up with an unlikely friendship, helping each more than they could have ever thought possible. Family, isn’t always about being related by blood, it’s finding people who come into your life at unexpected times, see you at your lowest and help raise you up.

Thanks to Ms. Harvey, Tall Poppy Writers and Gallery Books for this ARC. Opinion is mine alone.

Will review to Amazon, B&N and my Instagram account closer to pub day!

Gray's husband just left her for a younger woman. She owns her company and her husband is trying to that as well. Diana is fired from her job and had just left her loser boyfriend so now she is homeless and jobless. Gray helps Diana with a job and a place to live and they become friends. Each woman's life is completely different from the other but they are strong women and have so much more in common than they know. I really enjoyed this book of friendship, new beginnings, and love. I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are mine own.

I wish to thank Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book. I have voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love a good beach read and this one is published at just the right time to be a lovely read. The characters were entertaining and well developed. The two women meet and form a friendship even though they come from completely different walks of life. The author grabs your attention and the reader found herself cheering them on and feeling their pain as the story unfolds. You can smell the sea air and long to be on that stretch of the beach yourself. What a great story teller Kristen Woodson Harvey is. Thank you for writing such a fun book.

Such a beautiful story of loss and rediscovering. Gray is dealing with her divorce with her ex husband trying to take half her company, while Diane is dealing with the hardships of life and the rediscovery of her old love. A story showing how you can find your best friends when you least expect it. A true heartfelt southern charming book. Will be an amazing spring/summer beach read!

The quote above was stated in the first 5% of this book and nothing could more true for the tone and progression of this engaging story. "Life had other plans" than what you thought and how do you move on from those life alterations?

When life is turned upside down and inside out for two women who couldn't be more different, readers get an intimate look at how we can overcome those drastic changes with a little help from unexpected yet strong friends in Feels Like Falling. Kristy Woodson Harvey, a new-to-me author, writes in a very appealing and satisfying way that left me unable to stop turning the pages of this women's fiction novel.

It had great emotions running throughout including both humor and sadness, curiosity and upheaval. Overcoming one's preconceived notions of what their life should look like was a thread that wove itself throughout the story and into my heart. It's a message of rising that really resonated with me. And of course the delightful, heart warming, eye-opening friendship of the protagonists. I related to one of the women much more than the other but the beauty of Woodson Harvey's story crafting was that despite that fact I empathized with them both which made reading their development that much more secure and entertaining. Their feelings, struggles, and triumphs felt real and honest which is so important to me. The setting also made me want to get to the coast immediately.

Strong female characters who build a friendship based on the curve balls life has thrown at them coupled with great storytelling makes this a good read in women's fiction.

Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers another great book. This is a story of two women who form a close friendship as they try to rebuild their lives. She really knows how to draw you into the story. The book has all the feels. It is funny at times , sad at times and also has little romance with a happy ending. This is one of my favorite authors and I can’t to read her next book.
